I actually wasn't going to talk about this one because even though it's super cute I didn't think there was much to talk about. But this is Mochijun and reading through it again there's some stuff worth looking at.

First and foremost, we now know where Noé gets his money. I believe Jun briefly mentioned him working in an extra as well? But seeing Noé work is interesting. In particular because it highlights that we still don't know where Vanitas gets his money. He doesn't get any from his patients, he refused compensation from Amelia, and I'm fairly sure he doesn't work. But he still pays Dante for information and for whatever other necessities he needs. I wouldn't normally question how a character makes their money but this is genuinely a mystery that Mochijun has presented.

Next up is something that doesn't require much explanation: Roland was super beat up in the flashback this chapter. It was set pretty recently after he became a chasseur from the sound of things so I wonder what happened to him. We've seen he has scars on his hands but his entire arms were bandaged and he had a visible injury on his face (though this obviously hasn't left a scar). I suspect he may have scars on his arms and I'm pretty sure we've never seen him in a short or loose sleeved shirt in the present. OMG imagine if Roland has a mark of possession (this is a joke). It's possible he also has more injuries that aren't visible. There's no point in showing him in this state with no explanation so I'm interested to see what will be revealed about it. He does at least appear to move around easily enough.

Another thing about Roland: he has younger brothers. I believe it was mentioned around the start of the Gévaudan arc that he had siblings. Since only brothers are mentioned I'm going to assume he doesn't have any younger sisters. He may very well have an older sister though I'm not sure what purpose an older sibling would have in the story. It's also safe to say his brothers are a considerable amount younger than him given that Olivier imagined he would buy picture books for them.

Now onto the juiciest part of this chapter: Louis. I'm just going to show you the whole page that outlines the fairytale he read before nicking off into the woods.

Jun isn't particularly subtle about the fact that the boy is representative of Louis. Even the picture of the boy's family is of two parents and a daughter (probably representative of Domi).

I don't think the story is a 1:1 representation of Louis's life but I think it's more important than just a reason to have him be 'lost' this chapter. If we're comparing this to the larger world of VnC then the fairy could be Naenia. I know we literally saw him get decapitated and were shown his disembodied head. Normally when a character has their body shown (particularly in that graphic detail) they are 100% dead. But I don't think Louis is out of the story yet.

So let's say he is in 'fairyland' now or, since I decided Naenia was the fairy, he's part of charlatan's parade. How exactly is that possible? Naenia takes true names but we don't know why or what she does with them. I'm positing that since a true name is a vampire's 'life itself ', according to Teacher, that even if his body is dead his true name is still alive.

This even parallels the fairytale because the boy became part of the fairyland and grew separate from the human world, unable to live normally. In both cases the boy and Louis didn't choose what happened to them, they were influenced by outside forces. Interestingly in the page above the boy cries about his family not being able to see him and despite the text saying it was a happy ending the last panel of the boy shows him looking away from the fairies, presumably back at his family or his home.

I could go on and on about this but I think you get the gist. I apologise if any of this is unclear. Unfortunately, the Louis section is mostly just me rambling about a very strange theory but I hope it's somewhat coherent and not just me making something out of nothing.
