Chapter 1 - 99
[ORIGINAL EPISODE]
As I was in the tube heading through New York City with my earphones in listening to music to block out the outside noise around me I was heading to the police precinct where my father works he was the Captain there I was surprising him I had just finished the police academy and I would be starting at the 99th precinct today my father wasn't told I asked that it could be kept a secret until I had spoken to him that was a small lie because I wanted to start working there when it was too late for it to be changed because I knew my father wouldn't be happy that I was becoming a police detective.
When the tube began to slow down I knew it was going to stop at my stop so I grabbed my bag from the chair next to me before placing it on my back and walking to the door I stood there until the doors began to open infront of me so I stepped through them onto the platform as the bright sun hit myself face I smiled because I was happy but also nervous because it was my first day as a police detective. I headed up the stairs before reaching the exit the walking through before walking through the streets of New York until I reached the police precinct which made me smile.
My heart began to beat faster as soon as my first foot step hit the ground near the precinct. I walked through rows of cars until I reached the doors and stepped inside. I pushed through the urge to tell me to walk out of the doors, but I pushed through it and headed to the lifts. As I went up the floors, it felt like time was slowing down until the doors slowly began to open with the noise. As soon as I walked inside the precinct, there were lines of desks on either side with Detectives working. They all started staring at me at the same time, which freaked me out.
As I approached the captain's office, the door opened and my father stood there, surprised. "Amelia, what are you doing here?" he asked, surprised. "I haven't got time to look after you today because I have a new Detective starting today and I need to show them around and introduce them," my father said, which hurt me a little because he was my father and he should always make time for me. "You can't be you only started the police academy 4 months ago," my father said, sounding surprised but not in a good way.
"Well, one of my fathers is a professor, and the other is a cop," I boasted. "Come with me," my father said, and I knew exactly what was about to happen. I followed him into his office and he closed the door behind us so no one could hear, and he sat up straight in his chair with no shoulder breathing motions, so I knew I was in trouble. He was exactly like this when I was a kid. "Because you my hero dad, I wanted to be an inspiration to people like you were to me," my father said angrily, "but I guess you don't want to be here so I'm gonna leave" I said I stood up from the chair and began to walk away as I stepped out of the office I heard his footsteps behind me.
"Wait, I'm sorry, I'm glad you're here finally so we can spend more time together," he said as he drew me in for a hug, which was unusual for him, but I accepted it and hugged him back, then he grabbed my hand and walked into the ground of detectives who were clearly wondering what was going on. "Detectives," my father said as they all turned around and looked at us with a guilty look on their faces, "This is my daughter Amelia," my father said, making them make an ooh face. "And she is the new detective at the nine nine," my father said. "I hope you will make her feel welcome," my father said as he turned around and headed back to his office. As I looked around, I felt a rush of emotions, including nervousness.
I turned around to see who it was and there was a guy smiling at me and I just stared at him because I didn't know what to say "hi I'm Jake Peralta nice to me you" Jake said and then another guy appeared behind him "and I'm Charles Boyle and he's my bestie" Charles said pointing to Jake "and if you try to steal him I will make your life a misery" Charles said before laughing "Hi I guess" I said "welcome to the nine nine" Jake said pointing a finger of each hand in a different direction.
The next morning, I was excited, more than eager, as I sat down at my desk, which was between Jake and Amy's, for my first proper shift at the nine nine. I didn't have the words to express how I felt as I sat down at my desk, which was between Jake and Amy's. I proceeded to properly organise my belongings on my desk, knowing that everything had to be in the correct spot and at the perfect angle, or else I'd have my father on my case. When I was finished, I checked to see if my father was nearby before lifting a 2l bottle of orange soda and putting some into a mug on my desk before hiding the rest behind a door on my desk. I didn't drink it in front of my father because I was afraid of being called a child, but orange soda was delicious.
"You like orange soda too," I heard Jake say behind me, which made me jump, so he came over and stood next to me. "Don't tell my father, I'll never hear the end of it," I said as we both laughed before we heard my father begin to shout, which made me look u p from my desk. "Everyone gather round so I can call out Peralta in-front of you," he said as everyone got up from their desks and began to walk over to my dad, I knew Jake was in trouble as soon as those words came from his mouth.
As I approached my father, Jake began to speak, "ok fine, I was three minutes late, I'm sorry for doing one thing wrong," Jake said sarcastically, which irritated my father even more, so he turned around and picked one of the piles of folders from the desk behind him, "oh it's more than one thing, let's start with the Kristov Murder," my father said as he placed his hand on the files. As this happened, I saw Jakes face he knew he was on in trouble "it was an amazing solve, he confessed in 20 minutes" Jake said as he crossed his arms clearly impressed with himself.
