The Start

Viles and beakers were clinking and being held around clumsily by two scientists who seemed excited yet nervous. "This is the first time we've made something so successful so far" said the first scientist. "Yes, all of our hard work has finally paid off" said the second as they both looked at the life sized capsule in front of them which has carried a body in the fetal position.

"To finally create a being without starting off as an embryo is astounding." continued the second scientist. "Now all we need to do is let the body develop some more for all the information to get into it's brain" clarified the first scientist. "Yes of course" agreed the second as they both gathered their things, organized them and left.

An acidic reaction was the one mistake the scientists didn't foresee.

They opened the door to their laboratory to keep an eye on their precious experiment, after just 2 hours of development the body has already started to break down due to the acid they added to the formula. It was fizzing and falling apart, holes were on the body showing muscle tissue, tendons and teeth. The liquid surrounding the body began to change to a red color from all the blood loss of the body.

The scientists quickly ran over to the large capsule and drained all of the liquid to get the creature. Once they've obtained the being their arms started to burn, the acidic residue was still on the creature. Even though they were in pain they put down the body carefully as to not damage it anymore than it already was. They looked at the body and the membrane that was surrounding it seemed to already be dissolved due to the acid. Blood was all over the ground and the body looked to be slowly recovering and not burning anymore. Holes were still all over it but it was no longer in pain.

The first scientist cleaned up the blood off the ground while the second was still looking at the body lying in front of him. Then he noticed the being seemed to be breathing, he checked its pulse and fortunately it was alive. "Any later and it would've died" said the second scientist . "It's alive?!?" questioned the first scientist completely dumbfounded as to how the body could've survived such a catastrophe. "Yes and it looks like it isn't much longer before he opens his eyes for the first time. We should get it in containment just to be sure that it won't attack us" answered the second.

And with that, both the first and second put the body into a containment room and waited in a different room with monitors for the containment room.

After what seemed like hours was only 30 minutes and the body had woken up. After getting up he crawled around on all fours not able to walk on two legs. Drool escaped from the creature's mouth and burned through the floor. "Is that acidic saliva?" questioned the first scientist. "It looks like it." said the second scientist "We should test him to see what happens if he's startled" continued the second. They looked in curiosity as they played a quick and sharp sound in the containment room. The creature quickly reacted by giving off a strange gas from the holes in its skin and backing up into a corner.

"What the hell is that...some sort of defense mechanism?" questioned the second scientist. "I wonder what it does to human skin." said the first. "Well how about you go and find out" answered the second. "What?!? Me?!" the first said obviously panicked, "of course, we have no other humans here to test it on" the second answered. Annoyed by the fact that he was right, the first went outside of the containment room, there were two holes to put arms into the containment room. The stench itself of the gas made the scientist's nose hairs burn, having second thoughts he reluctantly put one arm through the hole and immediately he felt pain like he's never felt before.

His arm began to bubble and slowly melt off layer by layer. Before his skin had the time to melt off completely he pulled his arm out of the hole and sealed it shut before any more gas could escape. He screamed in pain and held his arm, in a very very slow process the pain died down. The second scientist came out of the monitoring room and looked at the first, "we need to keep him locked up" he began, "he's too dangerous to keep around but we can't kill him" the second said. The first nodded in agreement and they both waited until the creature was asleep to carefully take him out of the containment room and into a secure basement.
