Philip's P.O.V

"God, why do I have to do this? This project looks some hard." Frances complained. "Chill out. The project may be easier then it looks." I tell her. 

"Anyways, do you wanna stop by the cafe?" I asked her. "No. I'm gonna head back to our apartment. I'll see you later. Bring me back a coffee if you want."She responded. "Okay." I say opening the door to the cafe. I sit down at a table and a waitress walks over to me.

Not gonna lie, she looked familiar. Like an older version of someone I knew as a kid. "Hi. I'm Theo. How may I help you?" She asked. "Just a mocha with extra whip and a glaze doughnut. Thank you." I respond. "Alright. Give me 5 minutes." She said. "Oh, your name sir?" 

"Philip. If you need my last name, it's Hamilton." I respond. "Okay, thank you sir." She said and she walked off. About 5 minutes later, she came back with a doughnut and coffee. "Enjoy. That will be $5.99." 

I put my hand in my pocket. "Damn it. I'm sorry. I don't have my wallet I-" I begin to say but she says "Then its on the house sir! Although, just this once." After that she let out a giggle. "Thank you so much! What did you say your name was?" I asked. "Well it's Theodosia but I just go by Theo." She responded.

"Alright. I'll repay you eventually. It may take awhile though. Cause you know..money is tight when your a college student." I laughed. "No need. I'm doing this out of kindness. Kindness doesn't need a reward." She responded. "Alright, thank you anyways Theo." I once again said. 

"Your welcome sir."

I opened the door to the apartment and heard my aunt Angelica's voice coming from Frances' phone. Frances is my aunt Angelica's daughter meaning she is my cousin. Her dad is my dad's best friend. Good old John Laurens. My uncle John is gay.

Frances was conceived when her father was drunk. Her dad married my aunt to be nice or something. He thankfully has been a pretty good father figure in Frances' life though. Frances has actually followed in her father's footsteps and identifies as lesbian. Then aunt Angelica asked "How is Philip doing?" 

"I'm doing good." I said loudly so she could hear me. "Okay, Frances , darling , could you hand the phone to Philip?" My aunt asked. Frances handed it to me. "Hey aunt Angelica. How are you?" I asked.

"I'm good. I just wanted to make sure your okay. As you know, your mother is concerned about her little baby boy." She said. "Even though she has 6 other kids to worry about. Honestly, I don't know how her and dad do it." I said with a laugh. I have 6 other siblings. Angie, Alex Jr or AJ , James , John (sometimes called Johnny) , William and Rachel.

(A/N : So the Alex and Eliza's second daughter was named Eliza but to avoid confusion her name will be Rachel after Hammy's mom. Also Philip II won't exist in this story.)

Aunt Angelica laughed. "Yeah. I don't know how Eliza does it either." 

Then there was a gunshot. Neither Frances or me jumped. "Philip, what was that?" Aunt Angelica said sounding alarmed. "Hold on. Georges, turn down the damn video game!" I shouted. "Okay. God." He said.

"Sorry, it was Georges on his video game." I said. Georges hadn't even changed out his Subway uniform. Me, Frances  and Georges all share an apartment. The apartment thankfully has just enough room for the 3 of us. "Alright, well I'm gonna go." Aunt Angelica said as she hung up.

"Was that Angie?" Georges asked. I shook my head. "It was her namesake." I told him. Georges is my sister , Angie's , boyfriend. It's a little weird to watch my younger sister date My best friend who is two years older then her. But granted, my mom and dad have a two year age difference so I guess its whatever.

Christmas is coming up and all 3 of us go home for Christmas. We all share a dinner. The Lafayette's , The Hamilton's , The Laurens' and The Mulligan's. Also, my aunt Peggy  and her son Stephen would be there. Stephen was named after my uncle. Aunt Peggy and Uncle Stephen got a divorce. We normally just call Stephen Jr SJ. Also, sometimes the Washington's join us. 

George and Martha Washington are like another set of grandparents to me. I never knew my grandparents or any family for that matter of my dads side. Although, my other sister is named after my grandma on my dads side.

At one point this family called the Burr's would join us. They had a daughter who was a Jr. Mrs.Burr and my mom were good friends but when Mrs.Burr died they stopped coming. I never saw their daughter again. I barely remember what she looked like and I don't remember her name.

Oh well.

I was walking through the halls to head down to a class when I bumped into someone. They feel onto the floor and both of us groaned in pain. "I'm sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going." I said. "It's okay." They said getting up. "Oh! Hey Theo." I said.

"Philip? Hey there." She said. "So, what class are you heading to?" I asked. "Um...I'm heading to history but I was running back to my apartment to grab something." She said. "Alright. I'm heading to history to. Just wondering, could I have your number?" I asked. I thought that , hey , maybe we could be friends. "Yeah sure its **********." She said and I put ti it in my phone. I told her mine, she put it in hers and I went to history.

I was walking past the cafe when someone bumped into my back."Ow!" I yelled. I turned around and saw a girl with curly hair and brown eyes. But it wasn't Theo. "I'm sorry! I really am!" She said over and over. She seemed to be shaking.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you or anything. I just screamed out of surprise." I said. "Okay. By the way, what's your name?" She asked. "Philip. Philip Hamilton." I responded.

She gasped. "Oh my god I am so sorry! I-" She began to say but I cut her off. "Why are you apologizing? You didn't even need to apologize for bumping into me." I asked. 

She sighed. "My name is Susan. Susan Reynolds. My mother's name is Maria Reynolds." She told me. Oh. Shit. Damn. When I was 9 my dad cheated on my mom with this woman named Maria Reynolds. When I was 15 he published this "pamphlet" thing that was 95 pages basically saying he was a horrible person who cheated on his wife while she and his kids were on a trip.

It took my mom several months but she eventually forgave him. Truth be told, I never thought about how the Reynolds pamphlet was affecting Maria and her family. It probably ruined her life even though the Hamilton's lives got better. 

"Oh. Well, there is no need for you to apologize. My mom already forgave my dad a long time ago." I told her. "Alright, thank you." She said. "By the way, how did your lives go after that pamphlet was published?" I asked. I was curious.

"It didn't get any better. My parents divorced when I was 12. But when I was 15 and the pamphlet came out. Me and my mom were extremely poor and whenever my mom introduced herself people would call her a slut, whore , ect. People even called me a slut and a whore. Things have gotten a little bit better ever since I came here to Columbia university." She explained. 

"Jesus...I can't believe you had to go threw that." I said. "It's fine. I probably deserved it anyways." She said. "No you didn't. Do you maybe wanna come back to my apartment with my roommates , Frances and Georges?" I asked. "That would be great." She said, with a smile. 

On the way to the apartment we ran into Theo and off into our apartment we went.

(A/N : Okay so this was pretty much an introduction to the characters. Just kinda give you a feel of the story...or...something. Also, remember that Philip II doesn't exist in this story and Eliza Jr will be called Rachel)

( So to clear some things up )

1. Theodosia P is dead

2. Mulligan and Hamilton's wives had the same name so Mulligan's wife will just be called Beth

3. It was mentioned earlier but, yes , James and Maria are divorced. Same goes for Peggy and her husband.

4. I'm only including one of Mulligan's son (the younger one, William) to avoid confusion. William M will just be called Will. His other son was name John.

5. I'm not including Lafayette's oldest daughter (Henriette) because she died in childhood.

6. Anastasie Lafayette will be called Annie and Virginie Lafayette will just be called Ginny.
