I made another poached egg last night, salted and peppered which seemed to cut back the yolk's flavor. And I ate it on toast. And you know what I realized after my mom told me there was a trick to making them? People REALLY over romanticize poached eggs. Like, dude. It's an egg boiled in water. That's like poor people food! It's not fancy. It's not gourmet. It's an egg that's been boiled in water.

Seriously, a child could make that. THEY'RE THAT EASY. Just bring the water to a boil, toast some bread, crack the egg, put it in the boiling water, put it on your toast AND DONE. That's it! Like, people. You're eating. A. Boiled. Egg. That's all it is. That is all it ever will be. It's a boiled egg. A cooked egg. That's it. It will never grow up to be president. It won't go to space. And do you know why? Cause it's not fancy enough. It's a boiled egg.
