Holding Out

"What could possibly be wrong?" I asked.
"We're out of gas." Morgan said.
"You're kidding me right?" I asked. "We've just barely made it out of town and we're already out of gas?"
"The nearest gas station is only about a couple miles." She said. "We'll have to push."
"Wonderful." Dookie said, getting out of the camper. "Get out here and start pushing assholes."
"Hey! I'm a pregnant woman!" Morgan snapped. "Don't make me push the damn thing."
"Shit." I said, quickly getting out of the camper. I knew something bad was going to happen if I stayed in there any longer. I went over to where Dookie was and almost slapped him in the face.
"Don't put Morgan in a foul mood dumbass!" I said. "She's already moody enough."
"Not my problem." Dookie said. "I'm not going to marry her."
"Fuck you." I said. "I'll be right back."
I got back in the camper and chose my next few words very carefully.
"Morgan," I said slowly. "would you mind stepping out of the camper for a bit?"
"Why should I?" She asked.
"Because I love you." I said. "And you mean everything to me."
She got up and followed me out of the van.
"Get pushing boys!" She called as I went over to Dookie.
"You're welcome." I said as I began pushing the camper.
"Oh. My. God." Dookie said as soon as we reached the gas station. He sat on the ground and added, "I need to drink less and work out more."
"Are you really willing to drink less?" I asked.
"Hell no." He said. "I don't even know why I even said that. I love beer."
"Of course you do." I said. I held out my hand and said, "Get up before Morgan comes over here and tries to murder us."
He grabbed my hand and I pulled him up. A shout from Morgan soon followed.
"Which one of you is refilling the gas?"
"You do it." I said to Dookie. "I'll do it next time."
"Fine." He said. "If you don't do it next time though, I'm going to kick your ass."
"I will." I reassured him. I shouted to Morgan, "Dookie's going to do it!"
"Dookie, get your ass over here!" Morgan shouted back.
"Have fun." I said, giving him a pat on the back. "I'll be in the camper."
"Yeah. Yeah." He said as he walked over to where Morgan was. I got into the camper and found the beer that Dookie had brought along with him. I grabbed a can and held it in my hand as I stared at it.
The next thing I knew, I was drinking it.
