Sarah Williams continued to pace nervously throughout the empty hospital room, wringing her hands in agitation as she waited for Melissa to bring in her son.

Her son.

Scott McCall.

The girl would've laughed at the absurdity of it if she hadn't been so terrified.

Sarah had come to the irrational conclusion while waiting that she was apparently in the fictional town of Beacon Hills. She had also, while following that absolutely ridiculous line of thought, come to the realization that she was probably not in her own universe anymore, considering the fact that Beacon Hills didn't exist in her world.

As she thought back to the Sheriff's words earlier about nobody coming to claim her, Sarah also realized with a dawning sense of horror that she was probably literally separated by time and space from her family.

Oh, God, she was gonna be sick.

Sarah leaned against the wall with her hand, almost falling over as she started to breathe erratically, panic creeping into her veins. Just as she began to feel like she would pass out, she was suddenly snapped out of her stupor by the sound of the door clicking open.

Her head whipped back around as she struggled to pull herself together, watching in awe as the person of her current thoughts walked through the door.

Scott McCall stood just inside the doorway, looking at Sarah in curiosity. He tilted his head, turning to look behind him at his mother, who gave him a look of encouragement, before stepping further into the room.

Melissa cleared her throat. "I'll just leave you two alone for a minute." She turned around and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind her.

The room went dead silent.

Scott was the first to break the silence. "So, um, my mom said that you wanted to talk to me?" he asked, giving her an awkward smile.

They both stared at each other a moment more before Sarah finally snapped out of it.

"Y-Yeah, I did," she stuttered out, fidgeting in nervousness. The girl sighed, looking at Scott as she opened her mouth to try and explain her situation. "I'm—" she paused, frustrated at her lack of words. She began to pace in distress, running her hands through her blond locks of hair.

Scott continued to stare at the girl in confusion.

Sarah stopped again, turning towards Scott. "I'm from—" she cut herself off, growling in irritation. She started again, voice raising. "I'm from another—ugh!" She raised her arms up in aggravation, throwing herself down onto the bed, burying her face into her hands. This was hopeless. He would never believe her. Not to mention the fact that Sarah still wasn't entirely sure that she wasn't losing her mind.

She flinched at the gentle hand that laid on her shoulder. Her eyes rose and met the soft amber eyes of Scott.

"Hey, it's okay." He stood over her, brows furrowed in worry. "Just start from the beginning, alright?" He gave her a kind smile.

Sarah stared up at him for a moment, heart racing.

"I know you're a werewolf!" she blurted out, screwing her eyes shut, cursing inwardly at herself.

She felt Scott's hand jerk away from her in shock.

She slowly peeked open her eyes, looking over to Scott, who had backed up, his expression now guarded.

He eyed her warily, body tensed up, as if preparing for a fight.

"B-But I don't care that you are!" Sarah let out in a panic, stumbling over her words. She jumped up as she began to pace back and forth again. "The only r-reason I-I'm even telling you this is because I know you're the only one who has an even remote chance of believing what I'm about to say." She paused in her steps, glancing over to Scott nervously again, who had seemed to relax a little at her words, eyeing her curiously. Sarah began to frantically pace again, before finally managing to get out the words she wanted to say.

"I'm from another world!" she exclaimed loudly, squeezing her eyes shut at her sudden revelation.

Shit, shit, shit!

The room fell into silence again.

Sarah slowly opened her eyes and glanced over at Scott, who had a wide-eyed expression on his face.

"Although, I guess another universe would be more precise," Sarah began, starting to ramble. She paced back and forth in front of Scott again. "Or another dimension. Something like that. I'm not exactly sure how all of this works." Her hands shook in anxiety. "And don't get me wrong, I know how it sounds—It sounds crazy!" she let out, throwing her hands up in exasperation. "Absolutely crazy!" She ran her hands through her hair as she continued her ranting. "And I know you probably don't believe me, but you were the only person I thought of who might be able to help. I also thought that you would at least be able to tell that I wasn't lying since you can listen to my heartbeat and everything by using your—"

"I believe you."

Sarah froze, turning to Scott in shock.

Scott continued to stare at her in astonishment, but there was now a growing smile of wonder on the teenage werewolf's face.

"What did you say?" Sarah whispered, gaping at him in awe. She was grateful that he apparently believed her, but was still somewhat surprised that he did. She knew how her story sounded.

All at once, the girl was suddenly flooded with relief.

"I listened to your heartbeat," Scott started off, walking towards her. He stopped in front of Sarah, giving her a small smile. "You're right. It does sound crazy. Really crazy. But..." Scott trailed off, before looking down at her. "I know you're not lying. So... yeah," He let out a laugh of amazement, voice filled with fascination as he grinned down at her. "I believe you."

Sarah let out the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding in, collapsing on the hospital bed in relief. He believed her. He believed her. She would've laughed if she hadn't felt such a sudden sense of sorrow wash over her.

"What am I gonna do?" Sarah whimpered out in a choked up voice, leaning over, hands on her knees.

Scott sat down on the bed next to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't worry, okay? We'll figure something out." He rubbed her shoulder soothingly. "My mom and I are going to help you."

"What do you mean?" Sarah asked, frowning up at him in confusion. "How are you going to help me?"

"You didn't think we were just gonna leave you here, did you?" Scott questioned, sending her a warm smile. "I mean—you're obviously going to need a place to stay." he said.

"What? No, I couldn't ask you to do that." Sarah responded, shaking her head in dismay.

"You're not asking." Scott stated. "I'm offering." He shrugged his shoulders, before looking down at her. "We have a spare room."

"What about your mom?" Sarah said hesitantly. She was tempted to say yes, but she didn't want to impose on anyone, especially the woman that Sarah had yelled at rudely during her mental breakdown. But the simple truth of the matter was, she didn't have anywhere else to go. Except Eichen House. Sarah shuddered internally. She did not want to end up there. Especially since she now knew that the corrupted mental health facility was actually real.

"Don't worry about my mom." Scott said, waving her question off. "I'll talk to her. We'll work something out." His gentle gaze locked with hers. "Everything's going to be alright. I'm going to do everything I can to help you, okay?" he told her sincerely.

"Thank you." Sarah's bottom lip trembled as tears burned in her eyes. "Thank you so much." She suddenly threw her arms around Scott's neck as the boy jolted in surprise. Sarah had buried her face in his shirt, trying to hide her tears.

Scott hesitated for only a moment before wrapping his arms around the girl. He sat his chin on top of the blond-haired girl's head, patting the girl's back in a reassuring gesture.

As Sarah Williams continued to hug Scott McCall, infinitely grateful for his kindness, she couldn't help but finding herself agreeing with her sister's earlier words on the boy.

Scott McCall was pretty great.

Scott McCall exited Sarah's hospital room, letting out a breath as he ran his hands through his shortened dark-brown hair.

His mind still raced with questions after the girl's breathtaking confession, but he figured she had been through enough for one day. Scott decided it would be best at the moment to try and convince his mom of the promise he had made to Sarah.

He turned as Melissa excused herself from a conversation with one of the nurses, walking over towards her son in worry.

Melissa came to a stop in front of him. "So, what's the word? Werewolf? Kanima?" She looked up at Scott in concern. "What are we dealing with here, Scott?"

"Um, nothing like that," Scott said nervously. He glanced around at the crowded hallway, gently pulling Melissa closer to the wall. Scott licked his lips anxiously, before finally continuing. "She's kind of... um... well... from another dimension." He paused, staring down at his mother in worry.

Melissa McCall gaped up at her son for a moment, her expression unreadable.

"Mom?" Scott asked, voice filled with uneasiness. "You okay?"

Melissa blinked rapidly, before pinching the bridge of her nose. "Oh, I'm fine, Scott. Just trying to wrap my head around the fact that not only are supernatural creatures real, but apparently alternate dimensions are also real as well." The woman sighed, rubbing her temple.

"It's not just that..." Scott began, biting down on his lip in worry.

"What?" Melissa asked in exasperation. "What else is it? What else could you possibly have to tell me that is a bigger surprise than the fact that alternate realities now exist?"

"I kind of promised her that we would let her stay with us at the house." Scott said slowly, wincing at his mother's expression.

"You did what? Scott, I can't just take in a random patient from the hospital. That's not how things like this work!" Melissa exclaimed, glaring up at her son. "The Sheriff thinks she's a missing person! And since she's a minor, she'll have to be put into the foster care system and..." she trailed off, faltering under Scott's pleading look. "Oh, Scott, don't look at me like that, I can't just—" she broke off, glancing over at Sarah's room again, thinking of the terror in the girl's eyes at the mention of being sent away.

A beat of silence passed before the nurse let out a sigh of defeat, looking back at Scott. "Alright! Alright!" Melissa groaned out, raising her hands up in surrender.

Scott grinned widely down at his mom.

"I'll make some calls," Melissa began, watching as Scott's smile only continued to grow. "See what I can work out. But I'm making no promises!" she said, pointing up at her son sternly.

Scott simply beamed as he gave his mom a quick hug, before walking towards the exit.

"I mean it, Scott!" Melissa called after him. "Don't get your hopes up!"

"Thanks, Mom!" Scott yelled out over his shoulder, sprinting out the door.

Melissa paused for a moment, watching her son leave, before letting out a sigh. She shook her head in amusement at his antics and walked back over to Sarah's room. As she quietly opened the door to check on her patient, the woman let out a soft smile at the sight of Sarah's sleeping form.

"Don't get your hopes up, Melissa." she muttered to herself as she turned off the light, silently closing the door.
