Chapter I: Teal Eyes...
Sophie POV
Sophie woke up to the afternoon sun.
She didn't mean to sleep in so late, but those teal eyes were just so entrancing...she could spend days(well, in this case, nights) watching them laugh, cry, smile.
For the past three months, she'd been having dreams. Dreams of a pair of teal eyes.
At first, it seemed obvious that they were Fitz's. Who else was there with such stunning teal eyes? But slowly, over time, they changed. The tiny scar Fitz had after shattering his window in a fit of rage over Alvar disappeared. The eyelashes grew longer, the slope of the eyes becoming more elegant.
And, most recently, the makeup appeared. Delicately winged eyeliner, pale pink eyeshadow, mascara. Everything. And as bizarre and totally un-Fitz it was, Sophie just couldn't stop dreaming about those stunning teal eyes.
"Who are you...?" Sophie mumbled sleepily, slowly waking up. But that was ridiculous. They were Fitz's eyes. They were Fitz's eyes because that was the person she had a crush on. If everything in the world went wrong and she suddenly became a turtle, she could always count on having a crush on Fitz. Facts.
So why did her heart flutter a little bit less every time he gave her a cute little gift? And why do the butterflies almost never come whenever he smiled his movie-worthy smile or laughed his adorable laugh, which was the cutest laugh in the world? Well, not the cutest...a similar one topped his any day. Sophie hastily pushed the thought away. Boy troubles were not the best way to start the morning. Or, afternoon, really.
Good thing it's the weekend, she thought, getting dressed. Or else Keefe would tease me relentlessly for oversleeping...
Just as Sophie was putting her boots on, her imparter rang. "Hey Fi- Biana, what's up?" She asked, surprised to see Biana on the screen. Didn't it say Vacker? Yup, she definitely was still half asleep. "Sophie!" Biana cried happily. Sophie tried to ignore the rustling in her stomach. Really, butterflies? Just because Biana has the same features as Fitz? Worst. Timing. Ever.
"Guess what!"
"W-what?" Sophie stammered, blushing furiously. She was such a bad friend. Who zoned out on a private imparter hail? Especially a private imparter hail with...snap out of it, Sophie! She mentally chided herself. Wake up!
"We're having a sleepover!"
"A-wait, what?! How do you even know what a sleepover is? They're a human thing!"
Biana had one word that cleared up the confusion instantly: "Dex."
Sophie groaned. "I told him to stop meddling with the human tech! He's going to bring bad human influence on everyone. It starts with sleepovers, then he tells Keefe about rap, then next thing you know we all have phones and you find out social media!"
"What's social media?" Biana asked curiously.
"Nothing!" Sophie said hastily, hoping she wouldn't press the issue. For some reason, she just couldn't say no to her. And social media was definitely a big no.
"Ok, whatever. Anyways, Dex found it out from this weird show he was watching- Descendants Wicked World? Then he found a second source called-" Biana checked something off screen. "-My Little Pony? So then he did some research, and it sounds really cool and-"
Sophie snorted. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, backup. Dex watches My Little Pony?" The laughter was bubbling up. Biana nodded. Sophie burst into laughter. "That-"she wheezed, bending over, "Is the best thing-"more laughter. "Ever!"
"Umm...ok?" Biana asked, obviously confused. "Anyways, Dex immediately called me first," she smiled faintly, but happily.
The butterflies erupted, but this time they were tinted green with jealousy. Why did Dex call Biana first? Did he like- Sophie shut down that thought fast. No. And why was Biana so happy at that? Did she- the butterflies spun faster, creating a vortex of nausea. Of course she did. Dex was cute, happy, adorable, everything Sophie- why was she thinking this again? It was Biana's life anyways. She didn't make the decisions for her.
"Then he explained to me everything and told me to tell everyone., I called you first, and here we are! So, come at seven, and bring everything! It's going to be awesome!"
Sophie tried to channel her inner Biana enthusiasm. "Great! I'll be there."Biana smiled excitedly then clicked away. Sophie hadn't seen her this excited since...well, since last weekend, when she re-decorated her bedroom.
What kind of research had Dex done?
-S-
The butterflies...it's only chapter one and I'm already getting excited! Ooo the things I have planned...*grins manically* hehe...
