THE BUS CLUB.
I could never forget "The Bus Club." And if you're wondering what "The Bus Club" is, well here you are.
'The Bus Club" included me, Joe, Sammy, Mallory, Oliver, Sara, and Andy. We formed this club when we were riding the bus home. We all agreed it was way too hot that day because it was ninety-eight degrees Fahrenheit. We also agreed that we were completely and utterly bored. So it kinda went like this:
"I'm sooo bored," I said, emphasizing the words carefully. "And I'm completely drenched in sweat!" I pulled out my graded test that I had gotten back that afternoon and fanned myself with it. I had gotten a B- on it.
"Same," Sammy responded slowly.
"Anyone think they're starting to hallucinate?" Oliver asked.
"Lets start a club," Andy said, completely ignoring Oliver.
"What kind of club?" I asked
"Um, I'm not sure."
"A book club?" Sara suggested.
"I'm thinking a bus club since we are on a bus," Joe says.
Ever since Joe said that, the name "The Bus Club" stuck. We weren't actually sure what we were going to do in the club until a couple days later, Andy brought up the club and we decided that we would talk about our family problems and secrets in that club. We promised all secrets and conversations we had in the club would not leave the club.
Finally, when freshman year came stumbling around, Sara decided to share her "deepest secret" with the club. Unfortunately, the secret got spread around the school somehow. Eventually, everyone knew that Sara was lesbian and they bullied her all freshman year.
That year, the club fought over who told the whole school Sara's secret. But no one would admit to it. We still don't officially know who it was but everyone assumes it was Sammy.
Slowly, the club started to drift apart and we started to talk less and less to each other. Until finally, we rarely talked to each other. Except for me and Joe.
"I don't want another secret to be spread around the school again," I responded as I rolled my eyes. "You know what that would lead to."
"Maybe we could try again. We were younger then and now we're older, more mature. Plus, I kinda miss them."
"They would never agree to join up again."
"It's worth a try."
"Whatever."
"So, join up tomorrow?"
"Sure."
And that's what we did the very next day.
