Part four ❄️ Fight
Ice stood stiffly still, the disturbing scent of the Scorpion Pokémon causing him to tense. His instincts told him to seek out Drapion and attack him, however, with Minny so vulnerable, it was a risk he wasn't willing to take. Backing away, Ice attempted to retrace his steps, clutching Minny close. His ears flickered back and forth, keeping well aware of the sounds around him while also taking in the scents in the air around him.
Picking up the scent of a different Pokémon, Ice turned, sharp eyes narrow as he prepared for defence. With out a moment warning, a large brown blunder of fur and claws charged at him. Ice growled but was unprepared for the attack and was thrown back, Minny sent flying from his grip.
The baby Pokémon cried out in shock and pain at she crashed into the snow, crying pitifully for Ice as her head shook back and forth in effort to push through her curtains of darkness in order to see and find her friend.
She cried out in pain as she was seized around her neck. "I-Ice!" Minny mewled as the Beartic stood up tall, snarling at Ursaring.
"Put her down." He said, deathly calm as his fur bristled in anticipation for battle.
Ursaring smile slyly, an expression that sickeningly reminded Ice of Drapion. "Or what?"
"I'll tear your head from your shoulders and feed it to Carvanahh." He snapped, obsidian eyes focused on Minny and any movement Ursaring made that could threaten the young one.
Seemingly thinking little of Ice's threat, Ursaring held Minny up in front of his face, so close the young Buneary could feel his breath on her frozen fur. She shuttered in fear as Ursaring examined her. "I never understood your attraction to such a pathetic creature. I once admired you Beartic, you understood that in life, the strong persevere and the weak either die or live to serve the strong, yet you threw that all away... for this." Ursaring held Minny up tauntingly before bringing her close once more. "You're just as pathetic as she is really."
The small Buneary gasped for air, squeezing her eyes tightly shut for several seconds before she slowly relaxed, it was clear that for whatever reason, Ice couldn't help her. Probably afraid that Ursaring would harm her if he tried. Focus Minny, she whispered in her mind, you know the attack, just do it! Her ears glowed with energy, her spirt transforming into a power source for her attack.
"D-dizzy Punch!" She squealed, her ears springing to life with the light of a rainbow as they slammed into Ursaring's face. The larger Pokémon growled, recoiling much more from shock then he did from the relatively weak attack delivered by the young Normal type.
Ursaring let out a deafening roar, flinging an already weakened Minny against a tree. She screamed in pain upon impact, crumbling to the ground as she wrapped her paws around her winded chest. She heard another roar as Ice slammed into Unrsaring, further pushing him away from his fallen friend. He retreated to Minny's side, his obsidian eyes daring the Hibernator Pokémon to come closer. "Stay away from her." Ice snarled. "You're issue is with me."
"Very true." Ursaring snickered, watching in amusement as Ice tended to Minny, nudging her into hiding among the roots.
"Stay down Minny." Ice whispered to the young Buneary. "I'll be right back."
Minny nodded breifly, curling up among the roots of the tree once more. "Please b-be sss-afe."
"I will."
Ice stood confidently between Ursaring and Minny, not giving an inch as Ursaring attempted to push past him using bruit force, each time being pushed further away by the younger, more skilled Beartic. "Battle me you coward, stop attempting to use the child as power against me." Ice snarled, sending out an Icicle Crash to further push Ursaring from his child.
"You're the coward Beartic if you allow that pathetic creature to be you're weakness." The new voice made Ice tense, he knew it too well not to to know how threatening it was.
Minny squealed in fear as Ice backed up closer to his little one, standing right above her in effort to shield her from Drapoin. However, he made no appearance through the whistling snowstorm as Ursaring slammed his body once more into Ice. The Beartic didn't even flinch, rooting himself to the spot above Minny with no intent of moving until she was safe. With a roar, Ice sent out another Icicle Crash, knocking the elder Ursaring to the ground. One more and he wouldn't get back up.
Ice reared up, sending out the final Icicle Crash that knocked Ursaring to the opposite side of the creating, he didn't get back up. Snorting in triumph, the Ice Bear Pokémon again lowered himself to Minny's hight, his ears flicking back and forth in effort to pick up any sound that posed a threat.
At what could have been the very last second, Ice spun to the side, his sharp senses picking up the lunging of Drapions attack and gave him just enough time to swipe him aside. He didn't do any damage but both he and Minny were safe from damage.
"Takes more then that to sneak up on me." Ice snarled, pressing low to the ground, defending Minny. "If you think I'm going to let you harm Minny, you better turn tail now."
Drapion snickered as he circled Ice, watching in amusement as the Beartic followed his circle. "Oh I should, should I? But why would I when I have the clear advantage?"
"How's that." Ice snarled, keeping himself alert and wary of attack.
The Poison-Dark Type chuckled eerily, the slyness in his eyes reflecting the evil within the Pokémon. "I have no weakness, especially none so pathetic as the rat you so stupidly protect." Drapion sneered, charging in with his tail whipping forward and locking onto Beatic's shoulder and injecting him with Toxic acid. "I will tear her apart before your very eyes."
Ice flinched, roaring in pain before shaking Drapion off, bashing his side against a nearby tree with the Poison/Dark-Type crushed between. With a roar of furry, Ice spun around, throwing himself into the snow to finally knock himself free.
The large bear hissed, slamming an ice covered fist into Drapion, panting hard as the poison took effect. "I won't let you hurt her."
Drapion sneered, walking circles around the exhausted Beartic. "You really don't get it do you Beartic? For years I competed with the parents of that overgrown rodent for leadership of the village, when you killed them as a feat of strength, I took over. With the help of Ursaring, I ruled the village and you made things that much easier since I could easily get rid of any Pokémon that defied me by feeding them to you. Until you grew a conscience thanks to that good for nothing runt!"
"Minny's more then you'll ever be." The Freezing Pokémon snarled. He reared again, sending out a duel wave of Icicle Crashes. "I will fight for her!"
Drapion snickered, twisting his body in order to escape both. "Then you will die with her!"
