~ Chapter 22: Learn to ride a skate-board and go on a trip around the USA. ~
(So since I won't be able to upload before next Sunday cause I'm going skiing (Yayyyy, I hope it snows!!) I wanted to upload this chapter tonight so here you go, it's not very long as usual but I hope you'll like it anyways. I've just finished writing chapter 39 and I'm so happy to be writing again, it had been a while and I had missed Leah, Damon and Jenny (I know, I'm not normal, I miss fictional characters...) and yeah I'll stop rambling and let you read. Please don't forget to vote/comment as usual and enjoy! Hapy holidays! <3
Oh, since someone told me I should do it, here are the songs I listened to while rereading this chapter (cause it was already written):
Lost Stars - Adam Levine feat. Matt McAndrew
Wasted Love - Matt McAndrew
Make It Rain - Ed Sheeran
Take me To Church - Hozier
Bad Blood - Taylor Swift)

After this overwhelming experience, we went back to the hotel and looked at the list to decide what we would do next. We had trouble deciding because some things required to be in completely different places.
“What about this one? Could be fun.” I said while pointing at Lose more money than I can afford at roulette in Vegas.
“We’d have to take the plane again… I think we should rest for a few days.”
“You’re probably right.” I paused. “Ok, I have an idea. We can stay here and Learn to ride a skateboard.”
“Yeah! That could be cool! I have no idea why I put that in the list but it should be fun, you want to try it?”
“Sure. I think I know some stuff cause Seth taught me one time how to ride a skate board when I was like sixteen or something.”
“You’re going to teach me then.”
“I’ll try my best. I don’t even know if I can still ride.”
We looked up online and found a skate park not too far away from here so we went there and bought a skateboard at a shop near by. It was really cool, with draws and graffiti on it and I thought I would give it to Seth once we would be done with it. I’m sure he would love a new one.
“So… Show me what you can do!” Damon encouraged me.
I tried to remember how Seth had taught me and started riding the skateboard, but really slowly because I was a little scared.
“Mmh… I’m sure you can do better than that.”
I tried again but faster.
“Not bad. Now try to do something cool like a back flip or something.”
“What the hell is a back flip?” I asked.
A guy laughed while passing in front of us on his skateboard. He turned around and stopped next to us.
“You’re trying to teach skate boarding to your girlfriend?” He asked to Damon, smiling.
“No, she’s actually teaching me. I just now the vocabulary.”
“Oh. Do you guys want some help?”
We said “Sure” so he started teaching us how to ride a skateboard and after hours of practice, we actually could ride it pretty good. I’m not saying we knew how to do a back flip or whatever it’s called but we were able to do cool stuff. So we considered it was enough to check Learn to ride a skateboard off the list. We thanked the guy then went back to the hotel.
The next day, we planned our next trip, which would be to Las Vegas. We would stay there for three days and only two nights, to be able to enjoy the casinos and also visit a little around the city. Then we also booked our plane tickets to LA and found and website that could allow us to do a kind of tour of the USA. And since Travel across America from coast to coast was on the list, it was perfect. We would pass by San Francisco, then Miami, Orlando, Washington, Chicago and The Grand Canyon. We would be traveling for a few weeks and I couldn’t wait. I had always wanted to do that but never had to money to be able to. Damon apparently did and I tried to offer him help to pay but he refused flatly.
We went out for dinner then packed our suitcases and went to bed, to be sure to be ready for the next morning.
We had to wake up early because we had to drive to the airport and we didn’t want to miss our flight to Las Vegas. We were excited as hell and couldn’t stop singing and talking about how much money we were going to spend in the casinos. I had never been in one but I had seen pictures or movies that involved casinos and I knew that it would be cool. I knew how to play poker, thanks to my dad and Seth. I remember how we used to play a lot. At the time, I wasn’t really good at bluffing. I don’t know if that changed but I guess we were going to find out soon.
The plane landed in Las Vegas at night and we took a cab to the hotel. We had the most amazing view of the city from our room and we stayed up a while just looking at it or taking pictures. It automatically made me think of the movie The Hangover so Damon and I watched it, not really realizing we were also in Las Vegas. At the end, he showed me he had written on the list he had to get high and I told him we would do it but not in Las Vegas cause I had no interest in finding a tiger in my room or discovering a baby and finding out I got married in a cheap chapel.
We woke up the next morning pretty late. We enjoyed our breakfast then went out to take a tour of the city. It was really cool and we took time to take a lot of pictures. We saw the mini Eifel Tower but since we had already been in the original large one, it wasn’t that impressive. On the other hand, seeing every replica of famous cities was really amazing. I sent a lot of pictures to Jenny and some to Seth too.
Finally, it was night and we could go to the casino. I had bought a fancy dress earlier in the day cause I hadn’t brought one and I think it was required in the casinos. I couldn’t risk being thrown out just because off my outfit. Damon had had the great idea to bring a tux. He looked so damn hot it almost left me breathless when he got out of the bathroom all suited-up. I wanted to take him right here, right then but we tried to contain our mutual envy and saved it for later. So, well suited we went in the casino. There was the little risk that they’d ask to see my ID and throw me out cause I wasn’t twenty-one years old yet, but luckily they didn’t check anything. I think we fitted in pretty well. We took a lot of pictures and started by the slot machines. We played it a few times, won some coins, then we exchanged money and got down to business.
“I’m feeling lucky tonight.” Damon said, while sitting at the roulette.
Lucky wasn’t the first word that was crossing my mind when I was thinking about my dying boyfriend but whatever, I smiled and tried to enjoy the night as much as possible, and to forget my pain.
“Remember, you wrote that you had to loose money at the roulette.” I reminded him.
“Right. Well, I guess we’ll see if luck is on my side or if I’ll have to try to loose tomorrow night.”
He started playing and I watched first to make sure I understood the game. Then I played too with my own money and bet on a number randomly. The first one to win was a woman with a lot of chips. Damon and I had lost a little. We played for a long time and when we left the game, we were completely out of coins. We bought some more and played poker. I realized then that I hadn’t improved my bluffing, I still really sucked at it. So I guess, we actually lost more money than we could afford. We left the casino really late at night and went back to the hotel, exhausted, and by foot cause we didn’t have any money left to take a cab. We checked Lose more money than I can afford at roulette in Vegas off the list then fell asleep.
We enjoyed the rest of the trip as much as possible and then took our plane to Los Angeles. We had planed to stay there for five days, to be able to visit every thing we wanted and also to rest a little because all that plane was just too tiring. We needed a little sleep and pretty much all off our flights were making us wake up very early. At least I knew I wasn’t made to travel a lot for my work. My uncle has his family in France so he spends his time between planes, jet lagged, trying to live in New York and in Paris in the same time. I knew I couldn’t do that.
Traveling with Damon wasn’t the same thing. It was fun and even when we were out of things to talk about (which had never happened yet) we could always kiss. I was surprising myself dreaming of a future with him sometimes, but then I would shut those ideas by remembering I would loose him in less than a year.
Funny thing was, my mum had called me again and she was telling me about this TV show she had watched, with people getting married and she was speaking about how she couldn’t wait for Seth and I to get married. I was crying because, once again, reality kicked me in the ass and I was realizing that I would never be able to marry Damon. Anyway, same old same old.
Our trips around the USA were just… unbelievable. Amazing. Awesome. Fantastic. Outstanding. Extraordinary. Breathtaking. Spectacular. Stunning. Ok, I’m out of word and I think you got it. I think what I enjoyed the most must have been Orlando because we went to all those amusement parks, like for example, Disneyland, which was totally awesome. Oops, used that one already. So, I have no idea where to start. Maybe I should just stick to the fact that the trips were amazing. Yeah, I think I’m going to do that.
When we came back home, we were exhausted as hell and I think I slept for an entire day. I showed pictures to Jenny while telling her about the trips and then slept again. Seth came by the house the day after and I had to tell everything again from the beginning. He was really happy to be right about me being in love with Damon since forever. He tried to talk about us getting married (yeah, again.) but Jenny shut him up and changed the subject immediately. He didn’t understand why we were all touchy about the wedding thing but luckily didn’t ask any more questions.
