Chapter 16: Paris.
~ Chapter 16: Paris. ~
(Hey again guys! So this is why I had a tiny chapter before, it's just because they changed location so I felt like it was two parts of the bucket list that should be seperated. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this chapter too, for those of you who read Just Another Love Story, it may remind you of some things haha I guess I have the same kind of things for Damon and Leah to do as Alyson and Nathan. Anyway, as usual, good reading and please don't forget to vote and comment! <3)

Today, it was time to go. We were a little sad to have to leave Hawaii but also really excited because we were heading to... Paris! Damon absolutely wanted to go there before... you know, before it would be too late so we had bought the plane tickets and booked a room in a hotel from Hawaii and we would go there. We had to make some stops on the way but it didn't really matter. Together, we were never bored. Even if we had nothing to do, we could still kiss. Man, I was so in love with Damon!
I realized Seth and Jenny were going to say "I told you so!" but I didn't mind hearing it for once because they had been right. I had had a crush on Damon for as long as I could remember and I just hadn't wanted to admit it because I didn't want to jeopardize our friendship. I knew being in love with him was dangerous and that, in the end, I would only get hurt, but that's how every love story ends, right?
We had packed our things and the cab was already there to take us to the airport. We didn't travel first class this time but we didn't really care. The journey was awfully long but it was worth it. When we arrived to Paris, it was a little cold so we had to buy coats. It didn't bother me cause I got a pretty beautiful one.
We were exhausted from the trip so we went to the hotel (which was really beautiful by the way) and checked Go to Paris off the list before falling asleep.
When we woke up, it was night already. But we still grabbed our coats and decided to go see Paris by night. And man, let me tell you, it was wonderful! Lights everywhere, the bridges, the architecture... I was blown away. Neither of us had been to Paris before so we were both amazed and looking all around. Paris... The city of love. It was perfect.
We walked around the city, ended up in the Champs Elysées, which was even more beautiful and stopped in a restaurant to get something to eat. Then we sat on a bench, a little tired from all the walk.
"Damon... We're in Paris." I said.
I couldn't believe it.
"I know, it's unbelievable. And I'm so glad to be there with you."
"Me too."
We kissed for a long time then got up and went back to the hotel to get some rest so that we'd be able to enjoy the next day to the fullest. We had a lot of things to do!
When we woke up the next day, Damon took out the list and we decided to first go to the Louvre. You cannot go to Paris without visiting this museum. Even though I'm not found of visiting museums, I was really excited to go the Louvre. Maybe because it was Paris. I don't know. So we went there, took a tour of the museum, saw the Mona Lisa of course, and the Venus de Milo, then we went out, took some pictures in front off the famous Pyramids and went in a restaurant to eat lunch. Damon ticked See the Joconde in the Louvre off the list and I took a look at it to decide what we would do next.
"I didn't know you were so in love with yourself you had to have a painting of yourself above your bed" I laughed while showing the next thing I had seen: Have my portrait painted.
Damon laughed.
"It's just for fun. It crossed my mind so I put it on the list. It's kind of like... Leaving your mark somewhere, you know?"
I frowned, a little confused, and he smiled.
"Never mind."
"Come on, let's go." I said, getting up.
"Where?"
"Well, have your portrait painted!"
"And yours, then."
"Of course. Besides, what better place than Paris to have your portrait painted!"
"Right."
We asked some people if they knew where we could find someone to paint us and they told us to go to Montmartre. We had to climb a lot of stairs but once we were up there, we didn't regret it! The view was just breathtaking! We had all Paris at our feet. We took a lot of pictures, and I sent one to Jenny. Not to make her jealous, but because I wished she were here with me. I missed her so much! I couldn't call a lot cause it was really expensive and let me tell you, it was really hard not to hear her every day. She didn't even know Damon and I were together! We had a lot to catch up on!
After looking at Paris for a long time (and also kissing) Damon and I walked in Montmartre and ended up in a really cool place. There were painters all around us and a lot of people. There were already some of them getting painted and let me tell you, those guys were really talented! I remembered seeing pictures of this place when I was little. And here I was. With Damon. The feeling of joy I felt was just impossible to describe.
We had a look around to see which painter was the best (even if they were all incredibly talented) and asked the one we had chosen if he could paint us together. He said yes and asked us to sit and not to move. He started painting and taking a pose was kind of hard but I managed to do it.
It took a long time but finally, when the painter was done, Damon and I could move. We asked to see the painting and stayed breathless when the guy showed it to us.
"Wow! It's beautiful!" Damon exclaimed.
I loved it. I took a picture of it and put it as my desktop background.
"Combien cela coûte?" Damon asked in French, with a smile.
The painter said his price in French but we didn't quite understand it so he wrote it to us. We gave him the money and took the painting with us.
"Merci beaucoup!" I said.
Damon took my hand and we walked around Montmartre before stopping to eat ice-cream. I took the list out of my bag and checked Have my portrait painted and the part "make sure you use it. (at least once)" of Learn to speak a foreign language and make sure you use it. (at least once).
Damon was really proud that we got to use the few words we knew in French and so was I. It wasn't much but it already was a lot to us. We went back to the hotel and Damon told me he had a surprise for me. We showered then he led me on the quays around the Seine. It was already night. Damon put his hand on my eyes and made me move until he stopped and removed his hand. In front of me, there was a wonderful boat on the water, with lights.
"I rented it for the night." Damon explained, smiling.
Speechless I followed him in the boat and we sat around a table on the deck. There were candles everywhere and it was just so romantic I thought I was going to pass out. Or wake up from this dream. I mean, seriously, a boat on the Seine in Paris? Who wouldn't agree Damon is the best boyfriend ever!?
A guy in a tux brought us our meals and I was just so amazed I couldn't find words to say how wonderful all this was. We cruised on the Seine and saw every monument by night, which was incredibly beautiful. But I have to confess I was more dived in Damon's eyes than in the view. I should say it as the best night ever but we had so many awesome nights that I just couldn't pick anymore.
But wait for the best, the dinner wasn't the only reason we were on the boat. There was a master bedroom downstairs. Only Damon knows how to turn a night already perfect in an even more perfect one. He took my hand and I saw there were rose petals all around the floor and on the bed. I think I almost cried. Of happiness of course. I couldn't realize how lucky I was. Damon lay me on the bed and started kissing me.
"I love you so much Leah." He said between two kisses.
Let me tell you my heart was already beating really fast but those words... I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
"I love you too Damon."
Paris really is the city of love.
