Part 87

This update is dedicated to everyone whose name starts with the letter "Y"

...

We walked inside the mansion hand in hand. I blushed every time he looked at me as butterflies erupted in my stomach organ. Alya who was sipping water from her bottle choked and coughed rapidly. This brought Cabir's attention towards us and he rolled his eyes at Manik shaking his head in disbelief. The professor squinted his eyes to get a clear view and immediately marched towards us.

"Why don't you understand Boss? You are destroying her life by being a distraction. Just stay away from her for some time till she can score at least 10 out of 100." He said hitting his forehead.

"So you are the reason for my pain, buffalo." I started and the professor gaped. "Who the hell are you to separate me from Manik? Your duty is to teach, that's all. I would not tolerate it if anyone tried to meddle in my relationships and if you did it today, you would be punished. Manik, kill him."

"What?" This word resounded the room as everyone said this at the same time.

"Yes, I cried for hours all because of this guy. There is no improvement in my studies because he did not teach me properly. In fact, he is a fake doctor, he doesn't even have a heart radio or understand the organ language. I don't want to do anything with him. Just kill him already." I said with no break and the professor gulped.

"Instead of killing how about we send him back to the mainland?" Cabir suggested.

"No. Kill him." I faced the professor and raised my eyebrow. "I wanted to become a doctor so that I could impress Manik and he would marry me. But guess what? He was already impressed and I don't have to cry in front of your books and your fake answers. We are getting married and you can go to heaven and hell."

"Marry?" Alya questioned but it was buried under Professor's pleas.

"What... I mean, dear, I agree I was a bit harsh towards you, but that's nothing when compared to the mainland coaching centres. If you were getting trained there, you would even be slapped for the way you answered the question paper."

Cabir pushed the professor using his fist. "Woah! Stop there, will you? You are speaking with the Princess and that's the last thing you want to speak in front of her. We are protecting the Empire so that all the Princesses are unharmed, okay? They are not your common people from the mainland, so back off."

"Then why did you kidnap me here? You could get your own doctor from your Empire to train her." The professor shrugged before his face broke into a mischievous smirk. "Or because there is no one like me on this side of the land? Tell me, Cabir."

Cabir rolled his eyes. "Now you are talking too much. Pack your bags and go to the mainland before I change my mind and follow the Princess's order."

"Kill him Cabir. Don't send him back and waste the time." I said with a shrug.

Cabir also argued back on why sending him away from the Empire is better than killing him. We both argued for a few minutes before Manik stepped onto the scene. He has been observing the situation with an amusing smile on his face all along. Why?

"The professor will not be killed nor sent back to the mainland. He will stay in this Empire with all the respect." Manik announced and the Professor took a deep breath feeling relaxed.

"Why?" Cabir and I both asked at once. "I don't want to be a doctor, Manik."

"You don't have to, Nandini. You have been manipulated all your life so you need someone well educated like Professor Raghav to rely on. He will be a good influence." Manik suggested and I pouted not at all liking his decision. "The Professor is secretly welcomed by some people here even though their words speak the opposite."

Manik eyed at Cabir who was visibly uncomfortable. Really? Why would Cabir even want the Professor to stay in the Empire? He is the first person who will be happy to send this man away. Ah! Manik is wrong now.

"Where would this mainlander stay, Boss? We can't lock him in the garage now that he is not a professor but a guest." Cabir said crossing his arms over his chest.

"I could stay with you, Cabir. I have no problem sharing my space with you." Professor answered and Manik chuckled.

"You got your answer, Cabir."

"Hell, No! My bungalow is given under my House Rent Allowance, I can't let anyone just walk into my house and call it a day. It is my hard work and my salary, only I get to decide whom to spend it on." He said getting angry.

"You could ask the Professor to pay his share."

"And how, Sir? By giving me question papers or playing Who Wants to be a Billionaire?" Cabir questioned with sarcasm.

Manik's smirk grew. "Cabir, I am your friend and it wouldn't be so nice to get into the details. Your payment your wish, it's up to you both to decide." Manik ended it with a wink.

"Manik!!!"  Cabir shouted and Manik chuckled.

What exactly is happening here? How is Manik so jovial when Cabir is in anger? Aren't they best friends? Then why is Manik doing the opposite of what Cabir is asking?

The professor thanked Manik as if he was on cloud nine. Why? Cabir doesn't even like his presence, why is he happy to share his house? If I were in Cabir's place I would surely have anyone's hair who enters my house without my consent.

"I am not the best cook but I will try my best to cook three times and feed you with my hands." Professor chirped as he followed Cabir who stomped his feet muttering swear words under his breath.

I turned to face Manik who still had an amusing smile on his face looking at both the men walking out of the mansion. "Manik, what did you do? They don't like each other from the first day. Now they will fight with each other and pull each other's hair."

Manik moved the hair falling on my face while speaking his words. "Well, sometimes you have to see beyond their words. They are interested in each other and I am playing my part as his best friend."

"What?" I gasped. "No. Manik, they are not interested in each other. In fact, the professor insulted Cabir in front of my eyes."

"Insulted? How?" Manik questioned.

"The professor addressed Cabir as Daddy!" Manik coughed as soon as he heard my words. "The professor is clearly older than Cabir but still he insulted him as an older person."

"Well, this confirms my doubt. They are interested in each other."

"How does calling someone Daddy prove they are showing an interest?" I frowned scrunching my nose.

Manik looked uncomfortable as looked here and there. "Well, when someone is attracted to the other person beyond their limits, then they call them... you know... that word."

"That word? You mean Daddy?" I questioned and he cleared his throat.

"Yeah."

I smiled wide. "Manik I am also attracted to you beyond my limits. Can I call you Daddy?" I said puppy eyes.

Manik stared at me for a second and immediately opened a top button on his chest and fanned to cool himself down. "You....You..." He didn't complete the sentence.

"I, what?" I questioned with a pout and rounded my eyes something as something struck me. "Manik, I just remembered something, You said you were attracted to me earlier, does it mean you will call me, Daddy?"

And then he burst into a huge laughter.

What exactly is happening here?

"What exactly is happening here Boss?" Alya questioned pursing her lips.

Same girl same.

"Nothing much, I am addressing Manik as Daddy." I said so that she would understand I am attracted to Manik beyond limits.

Manik immediately covered my mouth and pulled me into his arms. "That's not to be said in public." He whispered in my ears.

"We have to talk. Meet me in my garden." He said to Alya who nodded her head and walked out.

That amusing smile is back on Manik's face as he faced me. "You are something else. Totally."

"Wh..."

"No more talking. You have to eat your lunch." He said while pushing me into the dining room.

"Lunch? Manik it's 3pm. This is SupUnch."

"It is supper."

"No. Lunch plus Supper is SupUnch." I said and he gave up.

"Well, have your SupUnch while I finish my work and comeback." He said and left not before kissing my forehead.

I began eating whatever the food type is placed without knowing the taste or not having the interest to eat without Manik.

Ah! He did it again.

I played with my food for so long and it's not finishing. How long does he need to speek with Alya?

I am marrying, Nandini. He can say it in one line, stick his tongue out and walk away.

What if Alya is convincing Manik to leave me and chose her? What if she gives logical reasons?

I sulked.

"Argh! I can't take this suspense anymore. I have to know what they are speaking." I stood up in determination.

I went towards Manik's room, oops our room and opened the door leading to his garden.

Manik and Alya were standing a few feet away without facing me. I found it as a chance and slowly sneaked behind the thick bushes closer to them.

I tried to peek every now and then as they were silent which made me think that they left.

Speak something, dammit! I don't understand the breathing language.

After what felt like an hour,  Alya finally spoke out and I sighed in relief.

"I did give much thought, Manik and I am still clueless about your choice. Nandini? Really her?" She questioned and I gritted my teeth.

Yes. Me. What now?

...

How is the update?

I didn't want to end it here but it's getting late. I will try to end all the mess and start Manan wedding from 89 chapter.

What shall we include in their wedding scenes? Tell us, Daddy! 🤣
