Chapter 1: Stolen
After the school day ended, Bokuto and Akaashi were walking to Akaashi's house together. Bokuto needed help on math. As usual, Akaashi would be reading his music. He would do this whenever he had free time because his part was that important for one of the songs his orchestra was playing. Akaashi hummed the notes as he read them. He even snapped his fingers to the rhythm.
"So... your part is really important for that concert, right?"
"Yes. Even though it is rather short, it is an important part in the piece."
"Can I play your violin?" Bokuto begged once again.
"No."
"Ten seconds?"
"No."
"Five???"
"I'm sorry Bokuto-san. I have an important concert to perform tomorrow and I don't want the violin to break. I know how rough you can get and I know you want to play it and that I'm not allowing you, but that doesn't mean that I don't love you for that." Akaashi tried to cheer Bokuto up.
"Since when have I broken something?! I can be very gentle!"
"Bokuto-san, you have broken one of the team's trophies before. Heck, you've broken my violin before and you didn't even touch it. I'm sorry, but I can't. After the concert, I'll let you play."
Bokuto couldn't handle it anymore. He had been waiting for weeks just to play it. He wanted to slide the bow against the strings, pluck the strings, and put his fingers on the fingerboard, just like Akaashi.
He had formed a plan in his head. He was going to steal Akaashi's violin. He had planned this thoroughly (with the help of Kuroo). Kuroo would make up some diversion and distract Akaashi. While Kuroo waits outside and Akaashi gone, Bokuto would grab the violin and bow safely tucked in its case, and pass it to Kuroo by throwing it out of a window.
'This is going to be perfect. I'm finally going to play it.' Bokuto thought. 'Just for a moment! I can't wait!'

The couple went upstairs to Akaashi's room. His room was neat and organized, just as Bokuto expected. He had never been in his room before. Usually, they would study in the living room downstairs, but it was occupied by Akaashi's sisters for the time being. Akaashi's bed was in a corner, with his open violin case on it. His small desk was next to his bed, with a little lamp. Bokuto looked behind and he saw a music stand for practicing, and a closet. Akaashi put his violin away and had them sit on his bed.
"So, what are you working on right now that's struggling you?
As Bokuto pulled out his math homework, a sound of pots and pans clashing could be heard from downstairs.
"What was that?" Akaashi said. "Stay here Bokuto-san. I'm going to see what's going on downstairs. He left the room. Everything was going to plan.
Bokuto grabbed the violin case, closed it, and opened the window. He could see Kuroo down there.
"Hey! Toss it to me!" Kuroo called.
"Okay!" Bokuto threw the violin case, safely caught by Kuroo.
"Nothing bad happened, but pots and pans fell down. Now, where were we?" Akaashi entered the room. "And... where's my violin?"
"Eh? Wait... where did it go?! It was there, and now it's gone..." Bokuto lied, making a confused expression on his face and moving with his head as if he was looking around.
"This is not good... how am I supposed to perform?!" Akaashi rubbed his forehead.
"Don't worry Akaashi. We'll find your violin before you have to perform, okay?"
*time skip*
"We're finished. Just remember to use this formula instead of this, okay?"
"Okay~" Bokuto said. "Bye Akaashi, see you tomorrow. Hope you find your violin!" He gave him a goodbye kiss.
"See you tomorrow Bokuto-san." Akaashi said, with a hint of red on his face.
Bokuto walked further and further away from Akaashi's house until Akaashi was out of earshot.
"Kuroo? You have the violin?"
"Yeah." Kuroo held up the case, containing the violin and bow. Kenma was next to Kuroo, playing on his PSP.
"Nice!"
"Doesn't Akaashi have a concert tomorrow? You shouldn't have stolen it, you know." Kenma said, pausing his game and putting his PSP in his jacket pocket.
"But I wanted to play it so badly! I'll return it tomorrow, saying that I found the bad guy who took his violin and beat him up, and he's going to be so happy and he'll admire me so much.~"
"Bokuto, Akaashi is not stupid. He knows that you want to play with his violin. He knows you took it."
"But what if he didn't?"
"Then you should be aware that he has an important solo to perform and that you need to return it ASAP."
"Don't worry Kenma! Nothing bad will happen!!!"
"Mmhmm..." Kenma said in disbelief.
"Go ahead! Open it Bokuto! What are you waiting for?" Kuroo said.
Bokuto's heart was beating fast with excitement. He was grinning like an idiot as he opened the case.
