Chapter 90- Raven
I move slowly as I approach the Lycans' manor. I didn't want any of this to occur, but they'll get the monster if they want it bad enough. I sense the beast in my thoughts getting ready to fight as I travel along the dusty road approaching the manor. I enter the territory of the Lycans and stop the car. "We need to talk!" I shout as I slam the car door shut.
The last of them that I haven't killed off, walks outside. Lovell steps toward me. "What did you do, Raven? Where's Beckett?" He grits his teeth.
"Did you not get my message the first time?" He nods his head. "Well then, I guess you can imagine what happened to your other son."
"Where is he?" He growls. His eyes shimmer with a sapphire blue glow as he clenches his fists. I smirk at the sight.
"Dead, somewhere in the words," I shrug my shoulders as I stare into his sapphire blue eyes, "you broke the truce. This could have ended days ago, but no, you just had to get my attention in the worst way possible."
Lovell motions with his head, and the others circle us. "Oh, goody. This should be fun." A wicked smile crosses my face.
"Ignis,"
A line of fire circles Lovell and me. Keeping the others at bay. Fear grows in his eyes as his friends try to approach, but the flames rise every time they try. "Does trying to break me make you feel good about yourself? Do you feel so powerful with all the killings you have done?" I put my arms out and shout, "This, all this, is your doing. If you had stuck to the truce, your sons' would be here."
"You have no idea what you have done. You can kill all of us, but it will never be the end." He threatens, his voice loud and filled with anger.
"You were there the night my father was killed. You killed him! You were the darkness that consumed me and tried to suffocate me. You were the darkness that made me fear the world. You were the darkness that kept me tossing at night. Unfortunately for you, I'm not afraid of the dark anymore," I feel my blood boil, and my eyes glow as the beast inside takes over. Every inch of my bones ignores any reasoning, and I have him on the ground, hand on his chest.
"You should have known better than to fuck with someone like me." My hand rips into his chest, and I pull out his heart. I stand up, hungry for blood. The Lycans all stare at me in shock, not moving an inch. "Now, who's next?" I say, licking my fingers. They start to run.
"Frigidus,"
And they all freeze in place. I walk around them until I set my eyes on one of the Lycans from class. His smell gives him away. He was the one who left that poor girl to die. My hand caresses his face, "You look tasty," I say, showing him my fangs. I approach him from behind and bite into his neck. I'm enjoying myself since the warm blood tastes so delicious. As I wait for him to take his last breath, I whisper in his ear, "You deserve this." I'm about to finish him off when someone screams my name.
"Raven, Stop!" I snap my head to the side to see Clay, who looks horrified at the scene in front of him. He slowly walks toward me. The closer he gets, the calmer I feel. I drop the kid as he screams in agony. I notice the sky has grown darker as I gaze up. Thunder rumbles, and lightning flashes, jolting the landscape. I did this?
Clay places his hands on my shoulders, "This isn't you?" He says softly as he looks into my eyes.
"I know, but this needs to end. I need to finish this." I start to cry. My emotions take over, and the spell I had on the Lycans breaks.
One of them sprints in our direction. His head snaps at the flick of my wrist. As the rain begins to fall, the others begin to panic. I watch as Lovell's blood is washed away by the rain. I glance at them with burning eyes.
Stepping toward them, I say, "If you don't want to end up like your friends, I suggest you leave this town and never return. If I ever see you again, I will make it my life's cause that you never enjoy the sense of happiness ever again." They scatter like wild dogs into the woods.
"Are you okay?" Clay says behind me. I turn to face him. "Yeah, I just need to do one more thing," He looks at me, afraid of what I'm about to do next.
"Ignis,"
Lycan Manor is engulfed in flames. I observe the sun beginning to set. When I inhale deeply, the rain intensifies. Clay embraces me as I fall to my knees. As he draws near, a sense of relief sweeps over me.
"Let's go home," he says. I nod and get up. I walk toward Lia and hug her tightly. "Move to Cladwell. That way you're not alone three hours away?"
I look over at Brie, and her smile grows. "That would be amazing. You and Grams could be roommates. You can stay at the apartment. Ray and I can stay with the guys'. It's already home to us," Brie smiles.
"Are you girls sure?" She asks us.
"Yes!" We both say. "We will help you move this weekend if you want. That way, Brie and I can also move our stuff to their house. The boys will also help. We need to make them feel important," I wink at her.
The boys grunt but start laughing. My life is finally falling into place as I watch my loved ones all smile. "Drive safely," I tell her, "We will see you this weekend."
We watch as she gets into her car and drives off. I let the cold air hit my lungs. It burns, but it feels so good. I get to the car and tell them we will see them at home. Clay looks over at me. "Where are we going?" He asks.
"Riker's point," I tell him. I look over to see a huge grin on his face.
⁂
The rain hits the car, and I feel calm. Clay doesn't keep his eyes off the road, but he does smile and ask,
"Are you at any point going to stop this rain?" He lets out a little laugh.
"Nope," I smile and look out the window. We park the car, then we sit still for a time. The view is lovely. I turn to face him, and he directs his gaze upon me. This boy still gives me butterflies. I let him steal my breath away as he kisses me while cupping my face and leaning in. I let the rain wash everything that has occurred to me away as I get out of the car.
"You're crazy. You know that?" Clay laughs as he grabs my waist. "I don't know any girl who likes the rain."
"I love it. Ironically, storms have always made me feel safe. It kept the darkness at bay," I turn to face him. "But I feel safer with you."
He smiles. "I love you!" He leans down and kisses me. Kissing in the rain is a movie cliché, but I don't care. I wrap my arms around his neck and get lost in our bubble. "Ask me again."
"Ask you what?" He questions me.
"Ask me to marry you again. That's if you still want to." I put my head down, afraid that after everything we have been through will push him away.
"Of course, I want to," he says, cupping my face, "but not here. I want to surprise you."
"Fine." I smile. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. The rain settles down, and we're both soaked.
"Let's go home." He hands me his keys. "After the multiple stunts I've pulled, I didn't think you would ever allow me to drive your baby again." I laugh.
"I only have one baby, and that's you. Now start the car and warm up. I have to call my dad quickly and let him know what happened."
"Okay." I get in and start the car, turning up the heat to dry myself off.
I watch Clay pace back and forth as his soaked white t-shirt clings to his chest, outlining every muscle he has. I bite my lower lip and smile at the sight. He's mine, the one who doesn't love is mine. I look away, turning up the heat to dry myself off, and try to ignore the butterflies in my stomach.
After a few moments, Clay gets in. "Ready?"
"Ready." I smile.
⁂
We get home, and I don't see Logan or Brie; they must be upstairs already in bed. We head up the stairs and walk to Clay's room. He opens the door, and I go in first.
Candles are lit up, and blue roses are everywhere. A little black box sits on a stack of blue petals on the bed. Clay closes the door and grabs my waist from behind. "Marry me." He whispers as he kisses my neck.
I turn to face him. "Yes, a million times yes." I kiss him.
He grabs the box and opens it. "It's called the Raven Stone." He says as he puts it on my ring finger. I take a look at it. The stone is red with swirls of blue. The ring is a representation of Clay and me. He takes his jacket off, and I smile, biting my lower lip.
"You and that damn smile," he smirks as I take my jacket off. He walks toward me and pulls me close. "I love you, fiancé."
"Fiancé? I like how that sounds. I love you," I say as I kiss him. He lifts me, and I wrap my legs around his waist as he walks toward the bed, putting me down slowly, he takes his shirt off and kisses me as he undresses me, I can feel the goosebumps cover my body, and he smirks, he knows exactly what he does to me. I let the intoxicating feeling of him take over me. Within minutes, we both release. I look at him, and he pushes the hair out of my face and kisses my forehead. I snuggle into his arms, legs intertwined with his, and fall asleep.
⁂
Saturday finally arrives, and the sun shines through the window. I wake up to the sound of birds chirping outside and the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen. I look over to see that Clay is gone. I see a piece of paper on his pillow and grab it.
Morning babe, I went with Logan to
go grab the rest of your stuff. Be back soon.
Love you
C
I get out of bed and head to the bathroom. I shower quickly and get ready, knowing that once the boys are back, we will be heading out to help Aunt Lia. I look around the room and spot the journal that Logan got me for my birthday on Clay's desk. It's been so long since I've written in one, I haven't had the chance since I started school. I look at the clock; I think I have time for one entry. I sit down at the desk and grab a pen.
Dear Journal,
It's me, Raven, and boy do I have a lot to tell you. Let's start by saying that life is not as simple as it seems to be. I met a boy; he's the only one to ever get to me. I know I've said before that love doesn't exist, but this is different. I finally understand what love means, and I love this boy. He takes my breath away. Since I met him, I couldn't get him off my mind, and it scared me because I had never felt this way before. When he smiles, I feel like my heart can fly. He loves me back, but loving me back opened up secrets about my life that I never knew existed. I'm a witch/vampire, I know it's crazy, but it's true. Clay, the boy I love, is a vampire, and I found out that Lycans exist. I have powers that I didn't know anyone could hold. I learned that not only am I tough on the outside, but I'm tough on the inside too, but I'm also strong, and powerful. It's been one hell of a ride these past few months,
"Babe?" I hear his sweet voice from behind me. I turn around and see him standing there with a smile on his face.
"Hey, sorry, I was just writing in the journal Logan gave me," I tell Clay. "It's been pretty therapeutic," I add.
"It's all good," he says as he kisses my head, "Are you ready to go?"
"Yeah, just give me one minute?" I ask him, and he nods. I turn to face the journal and finish writing.
There is so much that I need to tell you, but right now, I have to help Aunt Lia move. She is going to live closer to Brie and me. All I can say is that my life has changed a lot. Like I used to say before, life was supposed to be simple.
I close the journal and walk toward Clay. He wraps his arms around me and kisses me hard. I smile at him, "What?" he questions me.
"I'm in love with a London boy, who knew?" I giggle. He leans down and kisses me, his tongue parts our mouths, and I melt within. I never pictured myself with anyone, but now I can't imagine life without him. Today is the day we start our new lives. We know life will throw obstacles at us, but I've learned that life isn't supposed to be simple.
