2. New🦋
We drove to the ferry service and took a ferry for two hours. It was around lunch time so we decided to eat something from the ferry cafeteria. I bought beef lasagne, peas but without chips and took a seat beside my brother. I don't like chips. Mom and dad took their seats in the front row to enjoy the view.
I looked at Arthur. He was chewing his garlic bread with a completely relaxed expression. He chose chicken tikka, garlic bread and peas. He had iced coffee for the drink. I preferred juice. Because of his enormous big build every so often people naturally thought of him as my older brother and sometimes my boyfriend(yes, I know, eww.).
"Hey, how come you are so calm?" I asked him curiously.
"What do you want me to do then?" He asked back .
"I don't know, maybe feel a little sad or down," I shrugged my shoulders.
"And why should I do that when I am not feeling down?" He rolled his eyes.
"We are leaving our hometown and you aren't feeling anything?" I crossed my hands over my chest and leaned back at my back rest. "You are so cold!"
He put down his bread on the plate and chuckled at me.
"You have no idea how happy I am. I am done dating those silly small town girls. Now I want some city girls." he crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back in his headrest with a dreamy look in his eyes, "like Ema Watson."
"Hey, what do you mean silly small town girl." I protested strongly. "I am also from that town you know!"
"You are the silliest person among all of them." He smirked mockingly and stabbed a tikka with a fork.
"Shut up you buffalo." I glared at him.
It took almost seven hours to reach our new home. "New home", well.... that sounded so new. Our house was located around the area of Wellington arch. It was a little bit more crowded than our old town. It was not like I was uncomfortable with the crowd, it was just that I was not used to it.
We hefted our heavy boxes from the boot and headed into the house. That house was not as big as our home at Isle of Wight, but it was enough for us.
We finally finished unloading the boxes and put them inside the house. I was tired as hell. Just show me my room so I can lay down and wouldn't get up for a hundred years. Mom turned to us cheerfully.
"There is a rooftop room, which is for Liza. And there are two double bedrooms upstairs. One is for me and your dad, and the other one is for guests..."
"And, where is my room?" Arthur impatiently interrupted her.
Mom sourly looked at him and sighed with annoyance.
"Let me finish!" She raised her brows at him. "That's your room." she pointed to a room which is just beside the kitchen.
"What? No, I want the rooftop room. I need some privacy." Arthur yelled angrily.
"Shut up, stop yelling," Mom yelled back at him, much louder.
"Liza is older than you. She needs more privacy than you. Be grateful we are offering you a room and if you don't like the room you are very welcome to sleep on the couch." She shrugged while putting her hands on her waist. "You choose."
"Umm, mom I am fine with switching rooms with him," I spoke up to stop their petty fight. I would move out soon, so I was fine with any room.
"No." Mom instantly waved off my suggestion, "My decision is final." She turned to Arthur.
"Listen, Arthur, Liza is older than you. She has the first right to gain that room. Do you understand me?" She softened her voice a little. "And she will move out soon. So bear with it until then."
Arthur groaned and slapped his thighs with vexation as he jerked his head with defeat. "Fine."
"Ok, everyone, hurry up and freshen up. We are going to eat out today." Mom announced merrily as she picked up a box and headed upstairs enthusiastically.
I also picked up my box and followed her. Like I said we visited that house many times so I knew how to reach the rooftop room easily. It took only two trips to get all my stuff upstairs. My room already had my single red iron bed and a cherry red dresser with a dressing table. We bought that magenta coloured study rack with a brown study table from Gumtree for that house.
That room was a little more cramped than my old room, so there was not much space left after putting everything in the room. But then again it was the exact amount of space I actually needed. The grey carpeted wooden floor, the light lavender walls, the peaked ceiling, the yellow curtains around the window was already giving a homely feeling to me. I was extremely tired of changing my clothes. I just washed my face and came downstairs to meet everyone. Everyone looked so fresh and new.
Oh wow! Impressive!
I sure looked like a zombie in front of them.
"Oh my god Liza, why didn't you brush your hair." Mom gasped at my shabby appearance. By their reaction I instantly understood, I really looked like a Zombie.
"Mooom, leave it. It's not like I'm participating in a beauty pageant now." I rolled my eyes tiredly. "I am soooo tired."
"No, but we are going out." Mom crossed her arms over her chest. "And you can't go out like a...a...a wild animal." Arthur laughed out amusingly. I glared at him
"Alright, alright." I ran my fingers through my tousled hair to tidy them up and tame them into a top bun. "Now it is civilised, right?"
She rolled her eyes with annoyance.
"As usual a top messy bun, your signature hairstyle." She measured my face uneasily.
"But what about your eyes? It's completely messed up, you know. You look like a silly panda."
Oh shoot, I forget! I usually didn't do much makeup, but I never forgot to apply kohl pencil to my eyes. But by her reaction I assumed I looked like crap because the kohl smudged all over my eye-side. I took out my phone and checked. Wow, smokey eyes! I just used my hand to wipe off the extra smudging. "Now?"
"Yeah, much better." She looked unsatisfied but anyway approved of my appearance.

After celebrating our move with some delicious Chinese food, when we returned home It was past nine p.m . Dad gave me a goodnight kiss.
"Ok kids, tomorrow is going to be a big day for both of you. So goodnight, sleep tight and don't let the bed bug bite."
I smiled and kissed dad and mom's cheek and bid them goodnight. "Good night."
Arthur kissed my hair. "Good night." I kissed his cheek back.
"Night night."
I entered my room lazily. I changed into my pyjamas and flopped down on my tiny yet comfortable bed. Hmmm, the bed felt so nice. I took a casual glance at my organised books and the backpack and murmured to myself.
'Tomorrow I have to attend the first day of my college. New town, new friends, new college."
Well, good luck to me.
*~*~*~*~*~
I raised my foot a little and slid it in the glass slipper. Finally I would meet my prince charming and......
"Liza, wake up, wake up," Arthur shouted loudly just in my ear which almost caused me a mini heart attack. I startled up from my peaceful sleep and knocked him away.
"What happened? What happened?" I panicked like there was no tomorrow.
"Ugh, fuck! Can't you be a little gentle." He groaned dismally and rubbed his hip with a pained expression."Nothing happened, mom asked me to get you up."
I instantly relaxed and gently caressed my face with my palms. Ugh! I was just about to meet my prince charming and that stupid just ruined it.
"What is the time?"
"It is past 8.00 a.m. Now can you hurry up and move your ass to get ready? Dad will drop us." He stood up angrily. "I don't want to be late on my first day of a new school because of you. You lazy bum!" My eyes instantly widened.
I jumped up from my bed and rushed to the bathroom.
"Oh my god! Oh my god! I am going to be late! I am going to be late!" And closed the bathroom door hastily.
"You should think that before shutting off your alarm clock," Arthur shouted furiously from outside.
"OK, OK now shut up and get out, you are making me late," I shouted back from the inside with the same volume of sound.
"Oh, so now it's my fault, huh?" Arthur pounded on the bathroom door outraged. "This is the last time, do you hear me? I'll never be going to wake you up again no matter what."
I sighed and shouted from the bathroom, "Mommmmmm...... Arthur is bothering me and causing me to be late."
Arthur growled from outside, "I will kill you. Just come out you...."
"Arthur, stop bothering her and come downstairs," Mom shouted in a shrill voice from downstairs.
"I will see you later, my dear sister," he said angrily and was ready to leave.
I could hear his fading footsteps, so I quickly opened the door and stuck my tongue out at him, "Yeah, see you later bro."
He turned abruptly and tried to catch me. But I was fast enough to close the door on his face.
"Ugh, I swear if something happens to my handsome face, I'll kill you," He warned me with a super angry tone before leaving the room.
I quickly took a shower and put on blue jeans and a red t-shirt. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and picked up a denim jacket and rushed downstairs. I didn't have enough time to dry my hair. I just left it open for now, later I would just make a top bun.
Arthur already finished his breakfast and was checking on his social media account. I just grabbed my sandwich and gulped down the juice.
"For God's sake Liza, slow down and please wake up early next time," Mom glared at me with an irritated expression.
"Yeah, mom I am sorry, alright?" I rolled my eyes.
"You don't look sorry at all," Mom said grumpily.
"And what exactly does a sorry face look like?"
"Ok, ok girls you both are pretty. Can we go now?" Arthur impatiently butted in between us.
I took my remaining sandwich in my hand, kissed my mom's cheek and quickly ran towards the car. But Arthur was fast enough to beat me and already took the shotgun seat. Dad was already in the car. As soon as I climbed up in the back seat dad started the engine.
"Ugh, how about 'ladies first'? Eh, like a gentleman," I told him in a super dramatic way.
Arthur rolled his eyes.
"I'm saving that for real ladies."
"I AM A REAL LADY." I pointed at myself with an attitude.
Arthur looked at me from head to toe with a poker face.
"I don't think so."
"And why is that?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Because you don't have boobs." He pointed out bluntly and took out his phone from his pocket and started to scroll.
"Of course I have boobs." I gasped like a drama queen.
"Ok guys, no more fighting." Dad finally lost it. We both shut our mouths up.
Before leaning back on the back rest I lightly kicked Arthur's seat from the back, and he just ignored me with a smirk. Dad first dropped Arthur at his school then drove to my college. It almost took fifteen minutes to reach my college. Dad pulled up in front of the building.
"Ok, dad bye, see you later." I nervously bid my goodbye to dad while looking at my magnificent college building and intended to get out of the car.
"Liza." Dad stopped me from getting out of the car by holding my hand. I looked at him with a puzzled look.
"Good luck with the first day of your college and make lots of friends." He gently tapped on my shoulder.
"I know you can do it." And smiled tenderly at me.
I quickly hugged him tightly.
"Thanks, dad." I kissed his cheek before getting out of the car. "I really needed those words right now."
Dad waved his hand and drove away.
I took out my mobile phone to see the campus map on google to find my class. The college campus was vast and looked just great as it did in those online pictures. I smiled with gratification. From that moment I belonged to that place.
When I finally found my class, there were already some students seated, chatting leisurely and waiting for class to start. I took the second-row seat and was waiting for the teacher. I rubbed my palms together as I was feeling a little nervous.
After some time, gradually, the class started to fill up. Two gorgeous girls entered the room gracefully and sat beside me. The One, who took the seat beside me had slightly chocolatey skin with irresistible gleaming raven hair. She looked like a cheerful outgoing type, in one word 'Lovely'. Her eyes were beaming with happiness.
The other one beside her had long lustrous blonde hair. She had zero expression on her face, but she was remarkably attractive. And wow, they smelled really nice. I secretly took a sniff of my dress. Ok not so bad. I inhaled deeply and straightened myself up to look smart and was about to introduce myself...
"Hey, hi! My name is Rosalie, Rosalie Evans, but just call me Rose." The girl beside me suddenly spoke gleefully and smiled radiantly at me. Her bright smile was contagious and it was reflecting in her appealing hazel eyes. She got me completely off guard. She turned to that attractive girl next to her.
"And she is Olivia, my friend."
"Hi, just call me Oli." Olivia smiled a little as she waved her hand to me
"Hi, my name is Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa Davies." I gave them a small nervous smile.
"Wow, Mona Lisa! That's such a famous name." Rose teased me, in a friendly way. She always had a cherry expression on her face. It was hard to not like her.
"Yeah I know, my dad just fell in love with that famous painting." I chuckled at her reaction. "You can call me Mona Lisa or Liza. I'm okay with either way."
We giggled together in sync. I guessed the first day of my college life was in a....good shape.
