Out Of The Bag

Cover^^^

It was nearly noon when Klaus, disguised as Alaric arrived at the Gilbert household. He mostly wanted to check on a certain redheaded Gilbert, as well as enlighten Jenna on the supernatural world.

He knocked on the door, but didn't have to wait long before Jenna pulled it open, "Hey, Ric." she greeted quietly, motioning the possessed hunter into the house. He rose a brow, confused on her quiet demeanor. Katerina hadn't said anything about this.

The blonde grabbed his arm and pulled him further into the house, quietly shutting the door behind them before dragging him into the living room.

He was about to question her actions, but stopped when he caught sight of two figures fast asleep on the couch.

Jeremy was on his back, Evelyn laying on her stomach on top of him. Her injured arm in a comfortable position, nestled between the cushion and Jeremy's torso. The brunet had her wrapped up in a protective embrace, while the redhead had her face buried in the crook of his neck, her good hand gripping his shirt tightly.

"It's been a while since I last seen these two this peaceful." Jenna informed quietly, "Eve's still getting over her night terrors and with whatever drama Elena's gotten herself into, she's been dragging Jeremy off into it."

Neither of them had the heart to wake them up. "Can we talk, Jenna?" he asked lightly, she nodded, "Yeah, of course." and led him into the kitchen.

"Would you like Coffee? Or tea?" she offered, glancing at who she thought was her boyfriend, "Coffee." he answered with a light smile. She nodded, getting down two mugs.

"What is it you want to talk about?" the blonde inquired, fixing her coffee after handing AlariKlaus his. "I know everything Elena's keeping from you." he stated, "But you have to be open minded, everything I'm about to tell you is absolutely true."

"Okay?" she nodded, urging him to continue.

"There are things in this world that, without proof, you wouldn't believe." he sighed, glancing to the living room, "Vampires, werewolves, witches. All of those are real. Damon, Stefan, Caroline. They're vampires.. Tyler Lockwood's a werewolf. Bonnie Bennett a witch."

"You're kidding." Jenna scoffed, "This isn't funny Ric."

"I am not Alaric." Klaus stated, "My real name is Niklaus Mikaelson. I was using the hunter's body, with the aid of a witch, to keep an eye on Elena."

"If this is some sick joke-" "It's not."

Jenna and Klaus turned to Jeremy, who now stood in the kitchen entryway.

"He's telling the truth. Elena didn't want you or Evelyn knowing anything about this. She didn't want me to know about this." the brunet stated, fixing himself a cup of coffee.

"So the first time Evie and I found out about vampires, it was Vicki.. she tried killing Evie and I because of her blood lust and after Elena had Damon take our memories of it away." he took a large gulp of the hot caffeine.

Jenna ran her hands through her hair, "Does Evie know now?"

"No." Jeremy muttered, "But she's just as involved as the rest of us. Supernatural creatures have these.. soulmates, of sorts. For some reason, Evie has like.. four. Stefan and Caroline are the only ones we know about."

"And because of Elena they can't be together. I'm guessing that's why she's been hurting herself. From what I've learned once mates meet, they are inseparable, so separating them-"

"It's worse than torture." AlariKlaus cut in, "Elena's doing more harm to Evelyn than good.. and I think she knows it."

*************

Evelyn woke to someone shaking her gently. Candy apple green eyes fluttered open, meeting her baby brother's chocolate hues.

"Hey, time for your meds." he said lightly, she nodded, her 'good' hand rubbing her tired eyes. Jeremy encased her small hand with his, guiding the sleepy teen out of her room and downstairs to the kitchen where Jenna resided.

Alaric, Caroline, Stefan, and a man she'd never seen before sitting with her.

The redhead paused, three different scents striking her. They were were different as night and day, but all of them made her feel warm and fuzzy inside. Which startled her.

"You okay there, Evie?" Jeremy mused, she nodded quietly, anxiously tightening her grip on the brunet's hand. He kissed her crown before sitting her down between Jenna and Caroline.

She leaned against her aunt, still tired from her earlier dose of medication. "I know, baby girl." the blonde hummed softly, tucking Evelyn's curls behind her ears, "You can go back to sleep after you eat."

The ginger hummed softly, she was too tired to care about the stranger hearing her. "Hey.. Evelyn?" Caroline spoke up, "We need to talk."

Evelyn furrowed her brows, giving her best friend an 'about what?' type of look. Caroline smiled, she was always happy she could read the redhead so easily. "We've.. kinda been keeping a secret from you." the Forbes girl said sheepishly, looking to Stefan and the stormy eyed blond Evelyn hadn't properly met.

"After the Halloween party last year, you and Jeremy found out something that Elena didn't want you to." Stefan piped up, "So.. she had Damon take both of your memories of what really happened that night away."

"I can give them back. It's up to you, love." the stranger spoke up, his Old English accented voice sent foreign shivers down the eldest Gilbert's back.

Her brows were furrowed, and her sleepy pastel eyes were slowly lighting up with awareness as she let the information sink in.

Everyone else cautiously watched the ginger as she chewed on her bottom lip, a simply little action that unknowingly got her three, present, mates bothered, in a way that was inappropriate at the time.

Her candy apple eyes met Klaus' stormy hues, giving the eldest of her little audience a timid nod.

Well.. time to get the cat outta the bag.
