If not, don't worry. You do not need to have read or know anything about Telassar to read this book, and there's no pressure to read the other books after finishing this one. That said, I won't discourage you from doing so :)

The Broken Kingdom is a standalone novella detailing a historic event in the Telassar universe, set millennia before the actions chronicled in The Trials of Telassar saga.
