chapter 3
Percy slowly woke up to a glow in his room, when he looked at the window he saw Apollo glowing, with a smirk on his face. He got up and walked to the window, and looked behind it to see the Sun God. He also saw Artemis and Hermes, shaking their heads. He looked back at the imposing god, and smirked before shutting the curtains. As he walked to get changed, he heard Hermes laughing and Artemis struggling to contain hers.
When Percy got changed, and walked out of his fathers temple, he looked at Apollo.
"Really, you couldn't have come in, you had to glow."
Apollo looked at him with a small smile, "I wanted it to seem like you were still at camp, I didn't want you to wake up sad."
Artemis looked at her brother with worry in her eyes, Hermes shared the look while looking Percy. "Come on, everyone is waiting. Its a long day of preparations, and talking to your mom." He told the two, Artemis walked in step with her twin, while Hermes and Percy walked in front of them.
Zeus watched as Hermes, Apollo, and Artemis took their seats, Zeus flashed in a bean bag for Percy to sit on when he wanted to.
"Okay, Athena what is today's schedule for the group." Athena looked at Percy then pulled out a pad of paper.
"We have two meetings, one with the minor gods and Perseus, the second being with Perseus, to talk about preparations. Then we also have to do said preparations. "
Zeus nodded, "Apollo, who all got the news?" Apollo looked at his Father.
"We told all the leaders at camp, and every member of the seven. Annabeth and Perseus said their goodbyes and then we came back here."
Hera looked at him, "And what of the boy's mother?" She may not like Perseus but Sally was still a mom, she deserves to know.
"We were going to either allow her visits or IM's."
Percy looked up, "Are visits even safe?"
Apollo looked down, "After you are able to control the transformations yes, before no." Percy nodded looking down, at least he didn't have to say goodbye.
"When is the meeting with the minor gods?" Zeus asked.
"This evening." Zeus nodded, "Okay lets start the meeting on the preparations, so we can spend the day doing them."
Athena nodded, looking at Apollo.
"Okay, so Perce, when we start the triggering, it is going to painful, we can't put you to sleep for the simple reason of, when you ascend you will be awake." Percy nodded, sitting on a blue beanbag.
Dionysus looked at Percy with empathetic eyes, "It will burn, I will not lie, it will be like hell, but once the triggering is over it won't burn as much. The burning will get worse as you start to ascend. Apollo, he will be there, so will your Dad, your mom can video chat."
Percy nodded, "What happens after?" Percy asked looking at Mr. D then his Dad.
"Your powers will get stronger, powers that were locked away will no longer be no use to you. Your domains will be decided, and then its training."
Apollo flashed some supplies into the room. "These will be your best friends this coming week."
Percy got up and walked to Apollo. "Is that a blanket?"
Apollo laughed, nodding to his question. "The blanket is lighter and cooler than a sheet so it won't cause extra pain." Percy nodded, noting all the supplies. There was a blue blanket, a container of Ambrosia and a glass jar full of Nectar. There was a thermometer and a ice pack.
"Okay, what do we have to prep?" Percy asked.
"The room you are going to use, your temple, and getting all the Demi-gods caught up. The main thing though, is we will have to close the doors to Olympus, we will still be able to leave and answer prayers, but unless you can't flash out you won't be able to leave or inter." Hermes answered.
"So, we have to build a temple, inform at least one thousand people of my situation, and close the Olympus doors all before the meeting tonight?" Percy asked.
"Not we." Poseidon said.
"You, the people who procrastinated through the majority of the second Titan War?"
Hermes laughed, "Man I am glad I will never have to say goodbye to that snark!"
Zeus shook his head, "Perseus, you have to mentally prepare, so we will be doing all the labor. You can't ascend this way if you aren't mentally prepared for it."
Percy nodded, "At least let me tell the demi-gods, it would be better, especially with Camp Half-Blood that this comes from me."
Zeus nodded, "Okay, I guess you saying goodbye to more than the seven and leaders would be helpful."
Percy arrived at Camp Half-blood, via Hermes. Chiron met him at the border and guided him into camp. Everyone was gathered in the amphitheater, Greeks and Romans alike. Chiron guided him to the center where Mr. D was standing.
"Silence!" Chiron commanded before pointing to Mr. D.
"Perry Johanson will be leaving us." Everyone from Camp Half-Blood starting going crazy.
"What do you mean?" An Aphrodite kid asked.
"Guys!" Annabeth yelled.
"Thank you, Annabell." Dionysus said, "Perry is here to say goodbye. He is not going to college or anything."
Percy interrupted him. "Mr. D, why are you beating around the bush?" Everyone was now looking at Percy confused.
"What do you mean Percy?" Dakota asked.
"Dakota, I am not just leaving, my powers are too strong for a mortal body."
Everyone gasped, and then one by one the questions just kept coming.
"Why?"
"Another war?"
"What do you mean?"
"Guys!" Percy yelled, his voice strict, everyone stopped and looked at him. "Tomorrow, the Olympians are going to trigger the process, I am being turned into a god." Mr. D looked at Percy amazed until he saw it. Percy was wearing his war mask, his tone even gave it away, it was obvious if you listened, he was in 'leader mode'. as he called it. He wasn't letting his emotions through, and just telling facts.
"Percy, are you sure?" Mitchel asked.
"Yes, it would happen anyways, my soul isn't all there and my abilities were already burning through my mortality." Percy saw a younger camper with tears in there eyes. "Come here." He told her.
She came and ran up to him, "Why do you have to leave?" Percy hugged her, then wiped her tears the same way Hestia did with him earlier that week.
"I have to, to keep you all safe." He called forward all the younger campers and hugged them. After that he asked Chiron to take them to their cabins so he can talk with the older campers. Chiron nodded, then hugged Percy before guiding the younger campers out of the Amphitheater. "Guys do you know what my name means?" Percy asked them.
"Destroyer." Annabeth gasped looking at him.
"If I triggered the ascension with out knowing, whoever I was with in that moment would be gone, to keep people from being hurt I chose to have the gods trigger it. It will be at least 50 years before I will be in total control, over my form and powers. The actual ascension is a painful process. I will be on Olympus through it all I won't be allowed off. The gods are closing the doors for entry so if you can't flash in or out you can't enter or leave. They are still going to answer prayers and do their jobs but for the next week to month no on will be able to enter." Percy explained, looking at everyone.
"Will you be in pain?" An Apollo kid asked. Percy's mask broke for a second before he covered it back up again.
"Yes, I will be. My blood will be turning into Ichor, and my soul will be burned away as I ascend. My mortality will be fully burned away and my connection to the mortal world will be gone. My powers will increase and the powers I have either started to unlock or haven't unlocked yet will be to my full use."
Everyone gasped, while a Demeter kid cried out, "That's torture."
"It is being span out, so if I didn't do it this way all that pain would come at once and I could kill hundreds if not thousands of people not counting whoever was looking at me in that moment."
Everyone watched as Percy and Dionysus flashed out, leaving them the scent of grapes and wine.
"So, the irony huh?" An Ares kid chuckled.
Everyone turned to him and glared. He put up his hands up in surrender before walking out of the amphitheater.
"Hey Reyna?" Annabeth asked. "When his domains are announced, how about we team up and build him a Temple?" Reyna nodded talking with Annabeth more on it. The other campers head off, either through the portal to Camp Jupiter or to their cabins.
Dionysus flashed him and Percy back to the Throne Room.
"Does anyone have any paper and envelopes?" Percy asked as he came steady again.
"I do?" Hermes said as he handed him 10 envelopes and some sheets of paper.
"Perseus, what are you going to write with." Athena asked. Percy pulled out Riptide in pen form.
"Percy that's your sword." Ares said in a duh voice. He pulled the cap off, it transforming into the sword than he put the cap on the hilt, it transforming into a pen. Ares choked as Percy looked at him with a smirk.
"I know its my sword, but its also a pen." Poseidon laughed at Ares' face. Percy wrote letters to Magnus Chase, Alex, The Carters, his mom and Paul, and one to his sister for when she was older. He wrote one to his friends in the underworld, then he wrote one for Tyson. He turned to Hermes, "Can you deliver these to my mom please. I will do the rest so I can say good bye to them." Percy turned to Poseidon, "Hey Dad, can you give this to Tyson?" Percy asked him before turning for the door.
Percy met the Carters at the library. "Hey, these letters will explain everything, but I wanted to say goodbye in person." They nodded, tears in their eyes. "Please don't grieve me, I am not dying, just won't be human anymore." They nodded hugging him one at a time. "Carter, all you have to do is call my name or pray and I will come if I can. It will be a few decades before I can but I will." He nodded.
"But won't that be weird?" Sadie asked.
"What do you mean?" Percy asked, confused.
"Sadie, he is practically dying." Carter yelled.
"Not dying, more like being reborn, painfully." Percy remarked.
"If you just showed up one day to answer a prayer, like 'Hey, so you 'member that battle you prayed about, how'd it go'?"
"Huh, I guess that would." Percy laughed.
They hugged him again before Carter left after his sister.
Percy met Magnus and Alex outside their hotel.
"Hey, I am guessing Annabeth told you?" Magnus nodded, turning to Alex.
"If I may ask, what pronouns today?" Percy asked Alex.
"She/Her, and thanks for asking." She said.
"Of course, never want to get those wrong." Alex nodded with her signature smirk.
"Hey, you have to visit when you can!" Magnus said pushing Percy's shoulder.
Percy laughed nodding, "Here, these will explain everything, also if you need me in like 50 years, pray I will hear you." They nodded, Magnus hugged Percy, while Alex tried to stab him.
"Hey, I am not immortal yet, you gremlin." Alex's face showed no emotion but her eyes told everything, she was sad to see him go but happy to know he won't be gone for good, and he won't be leaving anytime soon.
Percy IMed Hades for permission to enter the underworld. Hades agreed and met him at Charon's desk.
"Hey, I need to deliver the news to some friends, it will take less than 20 minutes."
Hades nodded in understanding, "Come on."
Percy followed him through the underworld. He walked through Elysium to meet his friends, he saw Luke, Castor, Silena, and Charlie all having a barbecue while Michael played a guitar.
"Hey guys!" He called out.
They all looked at him with wide eyes.
"Wait! How?!" Charlie called out.
"I came to say goodbye. I won't be here when the rest come. I won't ever be here." Percy said as he came towards them.
"What do you mean Percy?" Luke asked.
"My mortality is being burned away, I am slowly turning into a god."
Castor gasped, "Like my dad?"
Percy nodded, "Just like that. These letters will explain everything. Here." He said and handed them each a letter.
"Percy, can I have one last hug?" Silena asked, he nodded holding out his arms.
"Perce?" Jason asked as he walked towards the barbecue.
"Yeah, here, I am not dead, they explain what the letter doesn't. I got to go, but before I do. Why are you here Jason?" Percy said hugging Jason.
Jason looked away, like he didn't want to answer truthfully, "Uh...I was talking to Thalia yesterday and she mentioned a guy named Luke so I talked around and found out that he was here...so you know came to figure out if he was truly a bad guy." Percy nodded understandingly, before meeting Hades at the gates. He waved one last time, walking away with Hades.
Percy arrived back at Olympus, just in time for the second meeting.
"Before the Minor Gods show up, let's talk about who is required to be here." Zeus said.
"Zeus, Poseidon and Hades are required. Aphrodite and Ares are required, and Hermes is also required. Everyone else can leave or stay. The minor gods coming are, Triton, Kymopoleia, Phobos, Eros, Tyche, Khione, and Macaria. Thanatos and the Fates might make a appearance but no guaranteeing." Athena said reading off a pad.
Everyone in the room nodded the ones needed to stay, stayed in their thrones, every other god left. Percy got ready to leave but was called back.
"We need you to stay, you need to be here not just for the meeting but also so you can meet your siblings properly." Poseidon told him.
"Triton hates me." Percy told his father.
"He doesn't hate you, he just don't like you."
Percy looked at his father, "You just said the same thing I did."
Hermes laughed, "Just stop trying to deny it and see what happens when he shows up." He told Poseidon.
His father nodded, looking toward the door.
