No love is not a fight but its something worth fighting for_WB

Jason knocked gently on the door as he waited, excited to see his girl yet feeling the weight of Liz's dismissal.

Tiara opened the door and Jason raked his eyes over her feature. Her jet black hair was curled and fell in soft ways that framed her face beautifully, she had thick bushy brows which were well carved and eyes the colour of brandy. Somehow he found himself comparing Tiara who had always understood him and stood by him to Liz.

Tiara smiled easily almost like it was natural to her. She reminded him of when times where easier between him and Tiana.

"Hey!" She smiled softly and hugged him and he let his arms wrap around her waist gently. He didn't even know where the sigh came from but he  did. She smelled good too and he noticed that, her scent was rich of Jasmine and rose petals and it tickled his nose in a way he liked.

"Daddy!" Lily rushed into his hand and he carried her into his arm and felt a genuine smile split his lips.

He let her lead him into their house and smiled knowing he had plans to move them to a better place before the end of next week. Lily dragged him by the hand towards the kitchen counter where they where making Chicken Enchiladas one of his favourite Mexican dish. They used tortilla bread wraps and filled it up with a delicious chicken meat seasoned to perfection, cheese, onion and green chili's. Its secret was the Enchiladas sauce and he remembered how good his former mother in-law used to make them.

"Daddy see what me and and mama is making!" Lily called out proudly and beamed at Jason. She then dipped her tiny finger into the enchiladas sauce that sat in a white bowl and licked the finger clean with a giant grin.

"Lily stop that!" Tiara called and waged her finger in warning, then turned to Jason,"you too dont get any ideas. Cause I know how much you love it."

Jason waited for her to turn back towards the shredded chicken and used the wooden spoon to scoop some of the sauce. He and his baby bundled up and ran as fast as they could to the other end of the room.

Lily was giggling loudly now it felt amazing to have a partner in crime. Tiara felt her heart almost swell out of its ribcage seeing the mischievous glint in the two mismatched eyes. If you think one pair is scary or intimidating try two.

They shared the sauce on the wooden spoon between them and she laughed when some splashed into his Tee shirt. From the peripheral she saw the father and daughter bond together and it made her smile.

They spent the rest of the night listening to Lily and fawning over her till it was time for bed. A little part of Jason's heart ached as he wished for what couldn't be. An image of him and Liz and their tiny bundle of joy bonding and growing together. It dawned on him that having children wasnt something he could ever give up no matter how much he loved her.

The matter sat on him like a heavyweight and dampened his mood. He tried to be lively as he prepared Lily for her night routine. Whenever he was around she wanted him to tuck her into bed and tell her a ridiculous story. He would lie beside her and tell her funny stories he heard from Iya Agba when he was younger and her tiny mismatched eyes will lit up in excitement and awe.

Tiara noticed something was wrong so when Lily finally fell asleep Jason walked softly out and she was waiting for him on the sofa.

He put on his leather Jacket which lay forgotten on the arm of the sofa, ready to leave when Tiara called out to him. "Come sit with me for a while."

Jason reluctantly sat beside her on the couch and she gave him a sharp glare.

"What is it?" He asked suddenly uncomfortable. He looked around the small room with its chipped painted walls and he made another mental note to move them to a better place before the week ran out.

"You know what?" She replied and he pouted his lips. Tiara giggled because even in facial expressions both Father and daughter where much more similar.

"So, tell me why you're here every single night for the last two weeks." She asked and raised her brows, It didn't make sense to her.

Jason shrugged and hooded his eyes. "Because I want to see my daughter." His body language made it look like it was just that at surface level but she knew better.

"Interesting, so your wife just let you come out like that every night for the last two weeks?" She asked.

He shrugged again "does it matter?"

"Tell me Jay what's going on.?" She returned not buying his response one bit. He just sighed and kept quiet.

"Is it that bad?" I haven't seen you this unhappy in the longest time. Tiara was okay to leave him alone if he was happy, if Liz made him happy but did she? Deep down she knew she loved him but she just wanted him happy it didn't matter whether it was with her or anyone. But he wasn't happy and that hurt, it really did.

Jason finally nodded and told her what was going on.
This was the side of mental health people never saw. It was really hard on their loved ones.

He felt light telling Tiara his problems and it didn't matter that he was telling the wrong person.

Tiara weighed the amount of information and felt her heart ache for him. Jason didn't deserve another case, not after Tiana.

Jason lost his composure for a while but he slowly regained it back, "I'm really sorry for unburdening on you like this."

He scratched his hair nervously and noticed the closeness between them. He felt warm and he liked it but at the same time it felt wrong.

He let himself imagine how easy it would be to lean an inch down and kiss her. To feel wanted without stress, to be with someone without being scared you will hurt them. So he did just that, Jason bent his head and kissed her.

In that slight moment he forgot Love was beyond the feelings. It was a choice! Even when you couldn't feel the butterflies, it was a choice. He didn't feel the butterflies towards Liz right now but she was his choice. No one said you couldn't be tempted or attracted but its a choice to act on it.

Tiara kissed him back granting him slow entry so their tongues could dance. It was what she wanted for the longest time for him to see her, to love her, to want a future with her.

She couldn't deny that her body tingled with sweet desire from the root of her head to the sole of her feet but she needed to ask him just one question right now that he was vulnerable. She needed to know. For her sanity, for Lily.

Tiara broke the kiss gently and asked quickly, "Do you love me Jason or you just want to use me to feel the gap because your marriage is on the rocks?"

Her brown eyes shone expectantly with hope the kind that gutted Jason from the inside as he came to the realisation of what he just did. It felt like someone had poured him a ice cold bucket of shame and regret and he welcomed it.

"I'm so sorry Tiara!" Jason hung his head in shame as he felt disgusted with his own actions.

Her eyes watered now but she needed to ask again, "You dont love me right" Jason's response was silence but deep down she knew he had never looked at her even the fraction of the way he stared at Liz.

She welcomed the reality now, "Then please dont do this to me. This will give me hope that you can't sustain, please in as much as I want you, I dont want to be this obsessed woman. I didn't try to trap you with this baby and I'm not going to start now.

So please leave while I have a little bit of decency left. Before I throw myself on you and you wake up tomorrow leaving me with only your regrets and a lonely heart." Tiara pleaded.

Her pleas wasn't just a eye opener for Jason it made him realise the magnitude of what he did.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me," He got up quickly, his shoulders were slumped and he left the tiny apartment. Deep down he knew his respect for her grew by leaps and bounds but in the opposite did his self disgust.

The moment the door slammed shut Tiara let herself slid down back to the couch and hug herself. Her knees where drawn to her chin and she rocked gently. Slowly she let the memories float in of the first time she saw the blue_greyed eyed boy and through the journey of how they became friends and he married her sister. With the memories came bittersweet tears.

Their friendship was real and sweet so it didn't make sense why it was Tiana the naughty twin that caught his attention. Why not Tiara the good twin? More tears flowed as she reminisced, she remembered why she left when she had Lily now cause she didn't want him to marry her out of pity.

Almost as if mother nature was in tune with her. As the tears flow so did the rain. It ran wild and free from its pregnant clouds and hit her glass pane in loud torrents. The noise drowned out the sound of her tears. She cried till she felt better.

Tiara cleaned the edge of her face with her sleeves and walked towards their small washroom. She cleaned her face and got into bed near her tiny sweet angel who cuddled around her mother quickly.

"Mama is going to find love now." She whispered gently into her baby's hair and slowly let sleep blanket her in its gentle arms.

Okrrrrrrrrh!!!!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 writing this chapter was growth for me. It made sense to break the cliche. To show a woman's strength walking away from a love that isn't hersit.

If you read the title, you'll understand why I made this chapter the way it is. I'm not someone who believes that love is all rosy so it makes sense that sometimes even when your feelings dont lead you, you rember to choose that person. In thoughts and actions!

What are your thoughts? Leave me plenty of  comments please I beg.

This book is the second book in the mending broken pieces series. I have one more to go and its set in Northern Nigeria I can't wait for you guys to read it. Honestly its my favourite so far.

I've always been fascinated with infidelity. The how and why made sense to  make it into a series for me. Honestly this book is more than the infidelity it had more of a mental health theme and vibe.

Although it will be up after my next book "Between two bloods! If you like love triangles with mystery, drama and sweet love you'll love this one. You really will, I dont like posting two books at a time because I'll prefer to complete a work and know I'm done. But omg!! I've been working on this lowkey and I love it

This book slowly shifted while I wrote it. Originally Liz was supposed to cheat but then you'll know why I had it reversed soon. Stay with me I wrote this book to heal some parts of myself and let's finish this journey together.

Love Always 💕💕
