6months later.
Grown men dont cry! Jason echoed softly trying to place an iron grip on his emotions.
Grown men dont cry! Yet tears flew down his face defying his warning.
He cried when he saw her walking towards him in that ivory lace dress with flowers woven together on her head to form a crown for a queen; his queen.
Jason didn't even know the tears was coming till his cheeks were wet. It didn't matter the warnings he issued to his self control, the tears just kept coming.
Liz trailed down the aisle towards Jason. Eyes trained solely on him so she wouldn't trip.
Life isn't mathematics! There is sometimes no definite answer. It felt like forever ago when she was cynical about relationships and definite love and affairs of the heart wasn't for her.
He looked like a knight in shinning armour standing there. Liz wanted to smack his head and call him a baby for crying, yet there is something beautiful about a man in his suit eyes trained on you, allowing his eyes tell you how much you rocked his word.
Liz finally got to his side on the makeshift altar, and slipped her hands into his open on. "Hi!" She whispered quietly.
The entire wedding ceremony felt like a whirlwind to the duo. They read their vows and said the customary I do's and it felt like magic when they were finally pronounced as man and wife.
It was then time to kiss the bride.
Liz didn't wear a veil, so he tugged her closer and asked one of the most stupid questions out of all his pickup lines with a naughty smirk "Are you Google baby?"
She couldn't help the rich laughter that bubbled out of the recesses of her soul. To their guests it felt weird that they weren't kissing but this was their inside joke. "Because I'm everything you've been searching for" she answered .
Jason stared at her shocked that she finally got one of his answers so he asked another one. "Hi baby, you must be a photographer?"
Liz just smiled at him because she knew this one too, "Because you can picture our lives together." Before he could say one more stupid line Liz did exactly what her lips was itching to do since the day started; she kissed him.
Jason was too stunned to see the kiss coming. This time the groom wasn't kissing the bride, the bride was kissing the groom. It didn't even matter to him she was his kiss thief anyway.
When they finally ended the kiss she cleaned the lipstick smudge on his lips and said "Now you at least have forever to come up with more sappy lines."
At this point Jason thought he must be pregnant or something. You know the hormone rush that came with being pregnant because if not how could his face be getting wet with tears again.
The gang chuckled behind him and Xavier said "Man you're whipped. She turned you into onions."
Jason wiped his tears again and flipped Xavier his middle finger.

"Ladies and gentlemen! I present to you the first of its kind; feet's washing ceremony." The crowd was silent now as quiet gasps resounded the reception hall. No one has ever heard of washing feet ceremony.
"When the groom called me and told me he doesn't want his bride to kneel and serve him cake because that wasn't the definition of servitude in marriage he wanted just like you all I was surprised.
He said he wanted to wash her feet's. To always clear her path, to relieve her stress, to be her strength and her weakness. " More shocked responses greeted his declaration especially from his Yoruba family members who were flown down for the wedding.
I couldn't help but marvel. In this times where we keep getting ourselves into stupid arguments on who should serve who and how to strike a balance, this man already knows that placing his woman as his queen comes first and when she loves it will be so humbly and true." The MC announced I'm his smooth baritone.
The crowd marvelled quietly as a large bowl of water was brought with rose petals in it and scented bath oils. They couldn't close their mouth when this supposed billionaire was crouching to his feet and pulling off his wife's heels to wash her feet.
Tongues were wagging because it was absurd for a man to stoop so low in public. Somewhere some of their Yoruba relatives even muttered in slow tunes "this woman must have jazzed him. How can he be so shamelessly wrapped around her finger like this? Well its not his fault its his parents that raised him far from home." Worse things were been said in different circles but it didn't matter.
As he washed her feet which was aching from all the activities of the day people had their phones out. The feminist community was having a field day making arguments about it. Everyone was forgetting that this wasn't a duty it was born out of love and genuine respect for this woman and that in itself was a form of equality.
Liz cried through it all since she didn't cry during the wedding ceremony it was time to cry now.
After the buzz died down and the dancing continued it was finally time for his second surprise of the evening.
Jason cleared his throat and took the mike. "Friends, family, partners, colleagues and everyone that is here to share and witness our joy we say thank you. Elizabeth and I_____" then quickly corrected himself "sorry my wife and I are thankful to have you share in our joy. May yours be full in return."
Amens were chorused loudly and he continued. "I made a bet with my woman to get her to cry so many times today because I'm an unusual person" the crowd chuckled at the last part.
"Here is your second surprise Mrs Elizabeth Brown_Matthews." Jason cleared his throat again loudly and began singing Marc Anthony's "I need you"
🎶🎵From the day that I met you girl
I knew that your love would be
Everything that I've wanted in my life
From the moment you spoke my name
I knew everything had changed
Because of you I felt my life would be complete. 🎶🎵
Jason only got the first verse in but Liz was crying again already at the intensity of it all. "If you know this song sing along with me." He entreated.
🎶🎵 Oh baby I need you
For the rest of my life girl I need you
To make everything right girl
I love you
And I'll never deny that I need you🎵🎶
The crowd was chanting chorus alongside with him after all the song was an old popular hit!
🎶🎵Nothing matters but you my love
And only God above
Could be the one to know exactly how I feel
I could die in your arms right now
Knowing that you somehow
Would take my soul and keep it deep inside your heart🎵🎶
The crowd chanted the chorus after he finished his part and as the hall reverberated with everyone excitement, Jason's bride was crying exactly as he promised her she would.
.
.
.
Liz stared at herself in the mirror. Nothing could spoil this for her not even the voices reminding her of unworthy she was of this man after all he just gave her one of the most beautiful days of her life.
She wore Pamela's wedding gift to her. A white coloured nightwear that was so silky and transparent she felt sensual in them. The virginal white colour was a mocking reminder though of what she wasn't; a pure blushing bride.
"Come out already" Jason shouted.
Liz inhaled and let down her hair from its confines. She wasnt a shy person and for the first time in her life she went 10 whole months without having sex because Jason wanted to do right by her.
He had given her the perfect wedding the least she could was to give him a perfect wedding night.
She brushed out her huge mane of curls quickly and stepped out of the bathroom in his view. For the second time that day Jason was sure his heart stopped.
His mismatched eyes widened like saucers taking in Liz in that nightwear. Oh boy, his subconscious whistled.
Liz felt weird having him stare at her like that, then he uttered one word like a command or caress. "Come." It was one word but it still sounded like a wicked promise of what was to come.
Her feet's moved towards him on its own accord and the first thing she felt were his lips on her forehead and soft words.
Was he praying? She thought. She couldn't finish her line of thought when he swallowed her.
Swallow will always be the appropriate word for whenever he kisses her. To Liz its like she drown in it anyway.
This will be forever hers, kissing this man.
Sex isn't synonymous to love making. With the right person at the right time you just combust in desires flame.
Fervent kisses turned into more, something more urgent and hotter till the couple joined as one both in soul and body.
This is it now, after the wedding what next?
