Clara's POV:
I waited for Ms. Evergreen to call my name. Every girl at Springs College was trying to get the role of Christine in the Phantom of the Opera. However, my sister Nicole wanted it most of all. She would stop at nothing just to get her hands on her lines.

Finally, Nicole walked out. "Guess who is going to become future Christine!!", she bragged. Okay, she wasn't bragging, but she can be such a bitch. "They don't announce the roles until tomorrow.", I half whispered. "Ha! And who are you? The Drama Club Police?! In case you haven't noticed, I'm going to get the part. No doubt. So back the fuck off.", Nicole hissed. Nicole was the worst singer in the whole world. She can wake the dead with that voice.

"Clara?", Ms. Evergreen called. I took a deep breath and walked through the doors.

~On Stage~

I walked to center stage, or CS for short. I faced Mr. Hoover, the director. "Okay, Clara...", he said as he wrote something on his clipboard. "Please begin.".

I was about to start when the exit doors opened in the back of the auditorium. A man with a jacket and sunglasses on walked down the side aisle. He sat next to Mr. Hoover. "Sorry I'm late.", the man said to him. "Nah. You're not late at all. As long as you came, that's good enough for me.", Hoover replied. The man was very tall, veeeerrryyy tall. He sat back and stared at me. I couldn't tell if he blinked or not because of the sunglasses. "Oh, uh, please begin Clara. Sorry about that.", Hoover said. I then breathed and began.

I sang the song with grace and beauty. The man then was very interested in me, so he leaned forward and rested his head on his arm. He watched me as I sang softly. I thought he was about to fall asleep with the melody soothing him, but he stayed awake until the end. When I finished, he was still staring at me. He leaned over to Mr. Hoover and whispered something. Hoover nodded and said, "Thank you Clara. That'll be all.". I walked to backstage and through the doors. I hoped I did well.
