5: Not a Demon
Blade was scared. Pastor Hope placed him in a box in his den. He didn't want to be left here. Once he heard silence and that Pastor Hope was out of the room, he cut his way out and carefully snuck his way back into Kathy's room. She was in the bathroom crying softly in the shower.
Blade came in the bathroom and climbed up on the sink counter. He waited for her. Once he finished she shut off the water, reached for her towel to wrap it around herself and pulled the curtain away. She then jumped seeing Blade. "Blade!" She gasped and hugged him, "You're ok."
Blade nodded and kissed her nose. She blushed and smiled at him. "I was worried I wouldn't see you again."
Blade shook his head and brushed her cheek with his hook. She then blushed at him and held him close. "You're not bad, I know you're not. If you were, you would've hurt us already."
He held her face with his hook and shook his head saying he would never hurt her, even if his father still controlled him, he wouldn't dare hurt her. He use his knife and hook and drew a heart in the air and pointed her with his hook.
"...you...love me?"
He nodded.
She felt he was saying this as in like he had love for her, like family. Because that's what she had also. She smiled, "I love you too, Blade."
She loves me!? Oooo that makes me happy.
"If my father sees you though, he will take you away. And I want don't him to. He just paranoid, I guess."
Blade looked down sadly sensing her pain. He would get it why her father sense some demonic presence from him. He did horrible things in the past. And he wanted to work on being a good person. A better person.
Kathy then kissed Blade's cheek and grabbed her pajamas. Blade turned around, his back facing her so he would give her privacy. Kathy turned to him, and smiled. He was such a gentleman with respect.
Once dressed she turned him around and picked him up with her hands under his arms. She then nuzzled her nose against his and he blushed at her.
She's so perfect. Like a real angel.
She held him in her arms like a little baby and carried him to her bed. She then laid him down and took his hat off setting it on her nightstand. "I will be back ok. I'm just gonna check on my dad." She kissed his cheek and went downstairs.
Suddenly his friends appeared at the window. Blade rushed over and opened it.
"Hey, buddy, sorry we ran off, we went looking for Jester," Torch said.
"But we couldn't find him," Pinhead said, sadly.
Blade shrugged. He was sure he would be fine out there. Torch and Pinhead were.
"So, where is your human friend?" Torch asked.
Blade pointed down.
"Downstairs?" Pinhead asked.
Blade nodded.
"Is she making something?" Torch asked
Suddenly they heard Kathy.
"DAD!?"
Blade, Torch and Pinhead rushed downstairs and saw Kathy in Pastor Hope's den. She ran to him. Pastor Hope had fell on the floor face down. He must've fell from the stool by the shelf.
Torch was gonna go closer to see if they could help, but Blade stopped him with his knife infront of him.
Kathy helped her father to sit up.
"Oh...oh, Kathy, what happened?"
"You fell. I heard a thud in here and ran to you to see what happened and found you here. You ok?"
"I'm a little light headed." Pastor Hope replied, "I just need to rest a bit."
Kathy nodded and helped him to his chair by his desk.
"Thank you, dearie. Could you grab me some ibuprofen? I feel a headache coming on."
She nodded and ran out to the bathroom.
Blade, Pinhead and Torch stay by the doorway, but kept quiet. Soon Kathy came back and had water and the ibuprofen for her father.
"Thank you so much, princess." Richard then took the pills and washed them down with water, "I should be fine now." He reassured her.
"Really?"
He nodded, "really. How about you go to bed. I need to sleep also."
Kathy nodded and head upstairs. She stopped and turned to him and hugged him. Richard hugged her back.
"I will be fine. I promise." He then kissed her cheek. "Get some sleep, ok? I will check up on you later."
"Ok." Kathy then got up and left.
Blade, Pinhead, and Torch followed, trying to stay hidden from her father. Once in her bedroom, the three of them climbed into bed and she closed the door. She climbed into bed and snuggled with Blade. He looked at her worriedly, but brushed her cheek gently with his hook.
He will be ok, Kathy. Really.
Kathy blushed at him and slightly smiled. He was just so kind to her. "Thanks, Blade. I just care about him too much. His my father."
I get that. I had to do things for my father, even though it didn't feel right.
Kathy then pulled Blade up and set him close to her. She ran her finger gently on his face and he hissed slightly, but a calm and soothing way. He just like her touching his face like that. She then leaned in and kissed his nose. Blade smiled at her. He rubbed her cheek with his hook gently. She smiled at his touch. "You're so nice to me."
And you're nice to me.
"...I wish you were human. So I could hug you properly."
Me too!
"Maybe Aunt Ava could help with that."
She then rested her head on his chest and smiled in her sleep, "Goodnight, Little Guy. Sweet dreams."
Blade smiled and rubbed his hook gently in her hair. He never felt happy than ever. Suddenly he heard a thud. He carefully got out of bed and went to where the sound came from. It was Richard again. He fell and held his arm. He wasn't sure how it happened. He then noticed Blade in the doorway.
What? Oh...oh sh!t, he sees me!
"Oh my gosh. I knew there was something off about you!" He panicked.
Blade held his hook up to reassure him that he wasn't.
"Stay the hell away from me!" Richard screamed pushed himself away from Blade. He grabbed a bottle full of water with a cross on it. He opened it and splash it in his face.
Blade blinked his screws and looked at him annoyed. Seriously, dude.
"The hell?" Richard gasped.
Kathy came running downstairs and saw what was happening. "Dad, stop!"
"Kathy! Stay away from him. Get my Bible!"
"No! You leave him alone. He isn't what you think!" She came to Blade and held him.
"Kathy!"
"He's not a demon! If he was, he would already killed us. He saved me that night I ran from you after you bailed me out. He is like the only person that cared for me and listened to me. He is not evil, dad. I know."
"Kathy, just look at him!"
"Did you also taught me to never judge a book by its cover? It doesn't matter what he looks like, he is good!"
"Kathy, it's not normal a doll to move around like this."
Kathy teared up. Why couldn't he understand?
"You said you would change...You never did and not listening to me!" She picked up Blade and ran.
"Kathy!"
She ran upstairs and locked her bedroom door. She pulled Blade in her arms hugging him and cried. Blade wrapped his hook gently trying to comfort her.
"Kathy! Give him to me." Her father said behind the door.
Kathy cried holding Blade close. She shook her head shaking. She couldn't bare to loose him.
"Kathy! Kathy!! I just want to protect you!"
"NO! You never did!!! You never protected me! NEVER!!!" She screamed.
"Kathy..."
Suddenly they heard a knock at the front door. Richard sighed. He then walked downstairs and opened the door seeing it was Ava. "Hello, Richard, is everything alright?"
"Not really, Kathy won't let me have this new doll you gave her. He's too dangerous."
"Doll? What doll?"
"The doll she said you gave her. He has a knife and a hook for hands."
"I didn't...oh I might've forgot, can I see him? I may remember if I see him."
He sighed and nodded. Upstairs, Kathy heard Ava.
"Honey, it's aunt Ava, can we talk. I won't take your new friend away. I promise."
Kathy opened the door and Ava smiled, "may I come in and meet your new friend?"
She nodded.
Ava walked in and sat on the bed. Kathy walked up to her and Richard stayed by the doorway.
"May I see him?"
Kathy handed lifeless Blade to her. Ava examined him and recognized the doll. He was the most wanted doll in the US. But she sensed the doll was different than he used to be. The doll was inlove. She couldn't say no she didn't make him, otherwise Richard would hurt the doll. She smiled, "I remember now. Yes I did make him for you. I guess the magic part scared your father a little."
"So you did bring him to life." Richard frowned.
"Yes, but only that Kathy has a friend. You know she never had anyone since Circe moved with his father back in New Mexico. So I thought I bring this puppet to life so she has a friend. He's good, Richard, you have my word."
Richard sighed. He looked at Blade when Ava handed him back to Kathy.
Kathy looked up at Richard, "Please, can I keep him, he won't hurt you, dad."
Richard sighed again, "...alright. You can keep him."
Yay! I get to stay.
