The chime sounded, signalling a customer. I felt particularly happy today with an unknown reason. The weather was also happy. The sun was shining but it wasn't that hot. I could smell the fragrance of the flowers inside the shop and it made my day better.

"Mrs. Augustina! What a pleasant surprise. Are you here for the flower arrangement you ordered?" I greeted the customer.

She smiled, "Oh yes, dear Haidee."

"Wait a second, I'll go fetch it for you." I told her and searched for her order.

"You seem quite happy today, Haidee. Who's the cause of this joy?" Mrs. Augustina asked with a smile.

I finally found her order of flowers which was a mixture of blues, violets, and pinks.

"Oh no one, Mrs. Augustina. I just woke up feeling good, that's all." I replied as I gave her the basket of flowers.

She smiled once more, "Thanks for the arrangement. Tell my regards to your mother for me."

"Sure. See you again, Mrs. Augustina!" I said as I waved goodbye.

Another customer came in. He was wearing a black suit and was holding a pocket watch.

"Good morning, sir." I greeted with a smile.

He put the pocket watch back to his pocket, "Good morning. The palace wants new flowers to be delivered later for an urgent and important event."

What event is urgent and important to have flowers delivered this afternoon?

I nodded, "Sure, sir. What kind of flowers would you like?"

"Roses. White and Red roses." He replied. "The payment will be delivered as soon as the flowers get to the palace."

I nodded, "How many do you need?"

"About 50 each." He replied as he looked at the time in his pocket watch again. "Deliver it by 1 in the afternoon."

I nodded and he left immediately. I looked for Mom inside our little room in the shop.

"Hey, mom." I greeted, "The palace wants 50 white roses and 50 red roses. Also Mrs. Augustina said thanks."

"Sure, honey. Go arrange those ones for me." She said and pointed to a soon-to-be flower arrangement.

"But, mom. The palace needs those roses by 1." I told her.

"What?!" She exclaimed and looked at her watch. "Oh dear. The roses here are insufficient. Go pick some roses at the garden."

I nodded and proceeded to the garden. I took the roses while humming a song. I didn't feel the thorns of them as I got them.

Once I got the roses, I returned to the shop and removed the thorns. Mom helped me as soon as she was finished with her arrangement.

We finished our tasks before lunch time. Our father, and my four brothers went inside the shop holding our lunch. We ate lunch together like we always do.

"Honey, why are there a lot of roses in here?" Dad asked mom.

"The palace ordered it." She replied.

"Ah," Dad agreed. "Then it must be for the engagement."

"What engagement?" I asked.

"The crown prince has been engaged to the Italian princess for the alliance. But if you ask me, they look in love." Austin, my eldest brother, replied.

My third brother, Atlas, snorted. "Well in my opinion, it looked like they were itching to shout at each other."

Xavier, ever the peaceful one, tried to stop them. "Come on, Atlas. Don't look at it like that."

"Yeah. I think they'd be a nice couple." Vince, the youngest, stated.

Atlas rolled his eyes but didn't speak.

"If the crown prince is going to be married then what about his brother?" I asked.

"Ooh, Someone's interested." Austin said as he laughed.

Atlas joined in and kept on nudging me, "Our ugly sister is in love!"

"Oh shut up! And please, if I think about it clearly, the crown prince looks better that the other." I stated and took another bite of my lunch.

"Then you're jealous of Princess Celestiana?" Vince asked and laughed.

"No I'm not. Besides, I don't need a man." I huffed.

"Now, now. Don't upset your sister. I know she hasn't had a boyfriend, and I don't know if she will. But she's gorgeous. She can get anyone she wants." Dad said and smiled.

"Thanks, Dad." I replied with a smile.

"Look at the time! Austin, go get these roses and deliver them to the palace!" Mom ushered.

"But you wanted me to work at the repair shop today, right?" Austin said.

"Then Atlas, go and deliver them." She said.

"But Dad told me to attend the town meeting since he was going to work." He replied.

Mom sighed, "Xavier and Vince are going to school. I need to stay and watch the shop."

Then all eyes turned to me. With that, I sighed, "Guess I have no choice."

"Very well, Haidee will deliver the roses. Now off you go. The sooner, the better." Mom said and pushed me to the roses.

My brothers and father left the shop to go to wherever they were needed. I got the white roses and put them inside a basket. I put in the red ones, too.

"Go on, Haidee. The roses can't walk themselves to the palace." Mom said and pushed me out the door.

I sighed as I shook my head and went on my way to the palace. I felt my corset which was refraining me from taking in all the air I wanted.

It was a short way to the palace which I was thankful for. Some people that walked by me said their greetings and I said mine.

I saw Laurence, my best friend, running up to catch me and walk by my side.

"Hey, Haiee." He greeted.

"Hello there." I greeted.

"Where are you going?"

"To the palace. They wanted flowers delivered and I am going to do just that." I replied.

"Let me bring that." He said and took the basket from my hands.

"I appreciate your helpfulness, Laurence. But I can do it by myself." I told him and snatched the basket back.

He laughed, "Fine. Let's hangout tomorrow, is that alright?"

"Yes, sure. I don't do much anyway." I replied.

"Okay. See you tomorrow!" He yelled as he went to the opposite direction.

I smiled a little. He's been my,best friend since we were six. And before anyone asks, no, We're not romantically inclined. It's weird to think about the two of us ending up with each other.

I finally reached the palace. Guards were scattered everywhere. I took a deep breath before approaching the gates.

"Um, excuse me." I said as I approached the gate.

The guard looked at me up and down which made me more nervous, "State your purpose."

"I'm here to deliver the flowers." I said and showed the basket.

He nodded and opened the gates. I smiled, "Thank you!"

I walked inside. The people were hectic. The maids were all over the place, holding table cloths, ingredients, and so much more.

Guards were doing their rounds and observing as the people were running around.

I was walking towards the entrance but I was stopped in my tracks.

"Halt!" The guard said.

I put my hand on my chest and felt it beating rapidly.

He showed a paper, "I'm sorry, miss. But orders are orders. We need your fingerprint so we have data if you do something funny."

"Huh? But a butler told me to bring it here. Hasn't he instructed that someone was coming to deliver flowers?" I asked skeptically.

"Miss, I don't have any more timeㅡI mean, We don't have any time. The banquet will start in a few hours and we need those flowers. Kindly put your finger print here."

"But how can I print my finger there? I haven't any ink." I told him.

"Not a problem. Come, follow me."

He lead me inside the castle. A maid was running inside holding what looked like a gown. The guard beside me called her.

"Could you please give me ink?" He asked the maid.

"I'm sorry, Officer. But I need to get this to the Queen."

"Oh, Well will this convince you?" He asked.

My eyebrows furrowed at what he was talking about and the maid was too. Then, The guard pulled his armor off his face and put it back quickly.

The maid gasped in shock, "Your hiㅡ"

The guard cleared his throat, "Kindly get the ink please."

The maid looked at me and I'm not sure but I saw understanding in her eyes.

"Right away, Officer." The maid said and bowed slightly.

When the maid was gone, I looked at the Officer with a confused look.

He glanced at me for a second but didn't answer the question that my eyes yelled.

The maid got back with an ink pad and gave it to the Officer. As soon as she gave it, she dashed off to the Queen's suite.

The officer faced me and held out the pad. I put my thumb on it and looked at the paper. It seemed like a contract.

I was about to read the contents, but the Officer grunted, "Miss, I still need to go get the finger prints of the other guests, so please hurry."

I didn't read whatever was there and put my print above my name.

"You may pass." He said.

I smiled, finally. "Thank you."

He was about to go but I grabbed his arm and pulled him back, "What?" He asked.

How rude, "I don't know where to give these to."

He sighed, "To the right is the Great hall. There, you will see the butler you have seen who ordered these. Give it to them."

I nodded, "Thank you."

He nodded and left. I followed his instructions and saw the room. It was huge. There were ribbons hanged and a huge stage was placed at the front. Tables were placed around but a space in the middle was left, no doubt for the dancing.

Amazed as I was, I shook my head and looked for the butler that I saw in the morning.

I saw him giving instructions to the maids who were arranging the plates in each table. I approached him as he was ordering the maids to place the different forks and knife.

"Place the fork on the left and the knife on the right. Not that left, the other left. Put the drinking glass beside the wine glass. No, that's the goblet." He ranted.

I hesitated on calling him since he seemed so busy. Luckily, he looked behind and saw me.

"Ah, the flowers are here. Kindly take them from her." He instructed to one of the maids.

The maid took the flowers. The butler looked at his pocket watch, "I'll send the money right now to the shop. Is someone there to recieve it?"

"Yes, sir. My mom is there."

"Excellent. You may go now." He told me and I bowed slightly and left.

I left the palace and saw the maid who took the ink pad holding piles of clothes. She dropped some so I ran over to her and helped her carry some.

"Let me help you." I told her and grabbed the dropped clothes.

"Oh, no. You don't need to, Miss." She replied and tried to take the clothes away from me.

"But I insist. Besides, it looks like the palace needs an extra hand."

"You are too kind, Miss." She told me as I followed her lead.

"Haidee will be fine." I told her.

"Of course, Miss Haidee." She said.

I sighed and shook my head. She didn't seem to get that I wanted her to call me just Haidee.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Denisse, Miss Haidee."

"Nice name." I replied.

"Thank you, Miss."

We reached a door and she stopped in front. She was about to knock on it but was stopped by a voice.

"Are those for Celestiana?" A man's voice asked.

"Your highness." She greeted and curtsied.

I followed her lead and bowed too. It was then that I figured out that the man in front of us was the second prince. Although I don't know his name.

"Yes, Prince William." She replied.

Ah, William. So that was his name.

"I'll take them to her." He replied.

"Oh it's okay, Sir. Miss Haidee already helped me."

I ducked my head when I heard my name. He raised his eyebrow and approached me. He lifted my chin to look at his face.

I take it back, he was quite handsome in person. I think he's better than his brother.

His eyes widened a little but kept it well hidden. He took one of my hands and kissed it.

"Thank you for helping us, Miss. I'll kindly take those. We apologize for troubling you." He said.

"Oh, not at all. I wasn't doing anything anyway." I said as He took the pile from me.

He smiled, "Thank you for your kindness, I'll take it from here."

I nodded, "Bye, Denisse. It's nice meeting you."

"Goodbye, Miss Haidee. Thanks for your help." Denisse said and waved.

I curtsied again to the prince and hurried my way out. Once I was far enough, I released the breath I was holding.

It was such an honor to have met the prince. I went back to the shop where Mom was waiting.

"Haidee, what took you so long? The payment arrived earlier." She stated.

"Oh, I helped out at the palace a little," And I met the Prince.

Mom nodded, "How was the palace?"

"It was beautiful!" I exclaimed. "There were lots of decorations inside the Great hall. How I wish to visit it again."

Mom laughed, "I don't know about that, Darling. We hardly ever get to prepare the flowers for them. They chose this shop because it was the closest to the palace and the event was unexpected."

"Well, even though I don't get to come back there, it won't hurt to dream."

Mom shook her head with a smile, "I'll leave you to your dreams. Watch the shop, I'll be arranging flowers inside."

"Okay." I replied as she went inside the room.

I tended to the shop while Mom did the orders. When it was closing time, Austin came to fetch us home.

"Hey, are you done now?" Austin asked.

"Yeah, Just closing the shop." I replied.

"Dad went to fetch Xavier and Vince. Atlas is at home now." He stated.

"Okay." I replied.

"Austin! Come help me bring these flowers home! I'm working on them at home." Mom yelled.

Austin sighed first before yelling, "Coming!"

I laughed at his behavior. I waited for him and Mom outside the shop. Once we were together, we walked back home.

Dad, Xavier, Vince, and Atlas were all home. Mom and I were cooking dinner and the boys were either playing or watching TV.

We finished eating the food and gathered in the living room to watch the news.

Mom, Dad, and Vince were on the couch. I was on the floor with Austin and Atlas beside me.

"What would be The Report about today?" Mom asked.

"Obviously about the engagement." Atlas answered.

"Shh! It's starting!" I whisper-yelled.

"Live here inside the palace is the engagement of our Prince, the handsome, Prince Thornton Zeke Koskinen to the ever beautiful princess of France, Princess Celestiana Florentia Nethers!" Sebastian Willows, the reporter, exlaimed.

"Prince Thornton! As dashing as ever." The reporter complimented the prince.

He laughed, "You're too kind Sebastian."

"How do you feel about marrying the Princess?" Sebastion asked.

Prince Thornton smiled, "I've never been happier. I'm quite excited about what will happen in the next few days. I have a plan that will be surprising. It will take action tomorrow."

"Really, now? What is this about?" Sebastian asked.

"It's a secret." Prince Thornton winked and laughed.

"Did you hear that folks? The Prince has something in store for all of us!" Sebastian exclaimed, "Prince Consort Erik, how do you feel about your son taking the throne and marrying Princess Celestiana?"

The Prince Consort smiled, "I couldn't have left the kingdom in better hands. No offense, William."

"None taken." Prince William said and smiled.

"I also trust that Thornton and Celestiana would lead the kingdom well." He added.

Sebastian nodded eagerly, "Princess Celestiana, how do you feel about the entire population of girls who envy you since you got the Prince?"

Celestiana smiled, "Oh, I wouldn't take Thornton all for myself, I'd share him with them, but only as king and not as lover." She winked.

Sebastian laughed, "Well how about that? Prince William, have you seen any girl in the kingdom who would be lovely as your bride?"

William smiled, "Oh yes, I have. I saw her today, actually."

"Oh? Is she beautiful?" Sebastian asked.

"Yes. She has beautiful blonde hair and brown eyes." He said and smiled.

What?

"What does she do for a living?" Sebastian asked.

"She's a normal village girl. I asked around and found out that her family owns a flower shop."

What?

"Do you know her name?" Sebastian questioned.

"Yes, but let's keep that a secret." He said and winked.

Why does everyone wink?

"Who is this mysterious girl that Prince William has taken a liking to? And what is Prince Thornton's plan? A lot of questions left unanswered. But that's all we have to offer tonight at The Report. Have a wonderful celebration and Goodnight!" Sebastian said and ended the report.

What the heck? Was I the girl he was referring to? I definitely have blonde hair and brown eyes, and my family certainly owns a flower shop. But who was I?

"Who's the girl that Prince William was talking about?" Vince asked curiously.

"Must be a lucky lady." Austin commented.

"That girl could be the dutchess or whatever." Atlas stated.

"Bedtime, kids. Go to your rooms now." Dad said.

Since he was the head of the family, we couldn't argue. I headed to my room which was the smallest since I was the only one who didn't have to share her room. Mom and Dad was in one room, Austin and Vince were in the other and Atlas and Xavier were in the last.

I plopped down on my bed, stared at the ceiling, and sighed. Was I really that girl?
