Y/n's Pov
I opened my eyes, still groggy, to see the sun was already up and it's rays peeking through the enormous window, brightening up the dark room. I was snuggled into Five's chest, inhaling his addictive scent. I bit my lower lip and felt my cheeks burning at the flashes from last night. It was wild... and oh so good. I traced my fingertip on Five's chest, wondering if that was just a dream, and I would wake up from this oblivion any minute now. I wanted to savor this moment while it still lasted. I gently pulled out of his embrace and sat beside him, covering my body with the silly duvet, staring at the piece of art he was. I'd realized he was inked, but a umbrella tattoo on his arm that caught my attention. I peeked over to get a good look at it. I wondered if his tattoo had any meaning to him.
"Good morning." His still sleepy, husky voice. "What are you looking at?"
"Your tattoo," I admitted. "Does it have any meaning to you?"
He took a deep breath before pulling up and resting his back on the cushioned headboard.
"It does, yes." Five admitted.
"What does the umbrella stand for?" I asked.
He look away, and his eyes filled with pain.
"I'm sorry." I quickly picked up on the mood change. "I shouldn't have asked."
"It's okay, Y/n," he said softly before gazing at me. "Let's get us something to eat." A wag to escape the topic. "There's a nice restaurant nearby I'm sure you'll like."
I was taken aback, he remembered. I thought was just pretending to Liston to my rambling the day before. Five cleared his throat, looking around the floor with the pieces of our clothes scattered all over it, and I bet my cheeks flushed the deepest shade of red.
"Five?" I said timidly, and he turned to face me. "About last night..." I felt the urge to clarify this to him. I wasn't myself the other night. Not that I regretted what happened, but it was so unlike me. Usually, I would never end up in bed with a man I hardly knew. But with Five, it was different. It felt like an irresistible attraction between us, pulling us to each other like magnets, pulling me to him in ways I couldn't grasp. Whenever I was close to him, the world around me seemed to fade. It felt like he was my drug I failed to resist. Instead, I kept craving more.
"I'm sorry if I overstepped your boundaries," he cut me off, slightly troubled.
"No," I protested. It' was the best night I'd ever had. "I just want you to know that I'm not a one-night stand kind of a girl. Usually." My cheeks burned, and I looked down at my ring finger, remembering that if it weren't for Five, I'd wear an engagement ring on my hand. An engagement ring from a man who cheated on me and whom I didn't love, yet I couldn't help but feel guilty.
Five reached for my hand and cupped it in his.
"Who said it was a one-night stand?"
I looked at him, surprised by his words. "Five, I have no experience. You don't have to—"
Five brought his hand to my face, running his thumb over my lips before whispering. "Don't overthink, Y/n. Let's just go with the flow. At least for now."
I scouted through Five's fridge, grabbing food to make us breakfast. I put them down on the countertop and rooted around multiple shelves before finding a frying pan. I broke the eggs on the pan, sprinkled them with some neatly set herbs and standing beside the stove, and added a few slices of bacon and coffee that I brewed in the meantime in a fancy coffee maker.
"Mmm, what is that delicious smell?" Five entered the kitchen, dressed in a white T-shirt and black pants. He grinned, revealing his perfect, white teeth while running his fingers through his wet hair.
"I'm making us breakfast." I smirked, turning over the bacon.
"I thought I was taking you out." He leaned against the countertop opposite me, his eyes set on mine.
"And how do you think I was supposed to go? Wearing this?" I teased, indicating the oversized white shirt I was wearing.
"I have already handled that issue." He gave me a provocative wink.
"What do you mean?" I was puzzled.
Five walked around the kitchen island and embraced me from behind, taking the spatula out of my hand. His intoxicating scent and warm touch, combined with cold water droplets dripping from his hair. "See for yourself," he whispered in my ear. "Go upstairs. Some bags are waiting for you in my closet. You know where to find it, right?"
Startled, I turned back to face him. "Have you been to the store? When?"
" I haven't." He laughed. " I had Mrs. Carter, my housekeeper shop for me this morning. She dropped off the bags here while we were still sleeping."
"Wow." I said. "When you did contact her?"
"Yesterday," he said before moving me back from the stove. "Go. I'll take care of everything here."
I smiled, as I watched his flipping over the food.
"Mmm! Coffee, my favorite," he teased, after taking a sip of his coffee and I giggled before trotting upstairs.
I climbed a few stairs when a doorbell rang out through the foyer. I turned around, hesitating whether I should answer the door or hide upstairs. My heart started pumping heavily, and adrenaline rushed through my veins. I had a hunch it was my father. I was scared that he had found me.
"I'll handle it." Five emerged from behind the wall dividing the foyer and the living room. His voice was cold and firm, and I knew something was off. "Go upstairs," he added, but I couldn't move. I stood still like a statue, rooted to the spot, with my heart beating crazily.
"I'm here for Y/n," I heard Ben's raging voice, and my blood ran cold.
How did he find me here?
"She doesn't want to see you," Five replied with an icy tone. Although he was facing Ben, standing with his back to me, I could imagine his stone-cold gaze.
"Give me back my fiancée!" Ben hissed through clenched teeth, seething, but Five seemed utterly unfazed.
"Really, last time I remember She's not your fiancée," he said callously. "Besides, she's not an object that I can take or give back. She's a lady that can do whatever she pleases."
"Very funny, Hargreeves," Ben sneered. "I knew you seemed familiar when I saw you at my engagement party."
"The pleasure is all mine, Ben." Five deep voice rumbled.
"Listen, dude. I am not scared of you," he hissed, clenching his jaw. "The fact that your also a Hargreeves too doesn't mean a damn thing to me."
Five scoffed. "I'm glad you don't see me through the prism of my name. Yet, I'd advise you to be careful with me." He moves closer to my ex and leaned to whisper something into his ear. I didn't catch what he said, but Ben's face went pale. I wasn't sure if it was because he spotted me, watching me half-naked in Five's house, or because of what Five told him.
"Y/n?" Ben said, has dropped, looking at me. "Did you sleep with him?"
I hadn't gotten the chance to speck when the sound of police sirens echoed through the hallway.
"We have company," Five stated, his gaze fixed on something outside. I didn't see what or who Five was looking at, but I felt it in my bones that whatever that was, spelled trouble. "Y/n, take Ben to the living room." Five turned to face me, and I didn't even question him. I just nodded and followed his order, my heart was pumping heavily.
I climbed down the stairs, grabbed Ben by his arm, and led him toward the living room, confusion written all over his face. Five stepped outside, closing the door beside him.

Ben wandered around the room, rubbing his temples, his breath ragged before snapping at me. "What the hell Y/n?" His eyes turned black with rage, and his voice sent dire chills down my body as he shouted, "Did he fuck you?!"
I didn't respond. I stared at him blankly, wondering how a single gaze, mere touch, or a faint scent of Five Hargreeves had ignited a flame within me while months with Ben would make me feel nothing. I stared at the man I thought I loved, not recognizing him anymore.
"You're such a hypocrite!" He scoffed, shaking his head. "You've accused me of cheating while you're the one fucking another dude, and not just any dude. Are fucking enemy behind my back! And you played innocent."
"Don't you dare, Ben!" I shouted. "I won't take all the blame! You slept with a random girl! You fucking broke my heart!"
"Broke your heart?" he mocked. "That's why you jumped into another man's bed during our fucking engagement party?! You're such a—"
"I wouldn't finish that sentence," Five's deep voice rumbled from behind.
I turned to see Five gazing sinisterly at Ben, and my father clenching his jaw as his eyes met mine.
