                               Y/n's Pov

Are you crazy, Ben?!" You pushed Ben away, fixing your clothes he'd tried to take off you.

"Did you think I would make out with you in a storage room in the basement?"

Ben rolled his eyes, making that weird sound he always did to express his frustration.

"I'm so tired of it, Y/n!"

"Of what exactly?" You replied, crossing your arms.

"We've been dating for over a year now, and barely let me touch you" Ben snarled.

"Oh, you thought I would let you screw me in a dirty storage room where we keep are coats and garbage?" You said sarcastic from your voice.

You and Ben started dating since you attended The Sparrow Academy since you joined a little later. Although, you could never tell if Ben was more of a friend to you or a boyfriend because as much as you enjoyed his company, Y/n never felt the burning list everyone saw in you too. They had there first sex after eight months of out relationship, and only cause Ben was pushy, but no fireworks for you. Y/n felt terrible because she cared about him and there relationship. At the same time. No matter how hard Y/n tired. Y/n didn't feel a spark. She thought it might've been caused by her bad experiences haunting her from her past. Her former boyfriend hurt her in the possible way, leaving an irreversible strike on Y/n soul forever.

"I don't know what you want," Ben growled, snapping you back to reality. "But it frustrates the hell out of me that my girlfriend won't let me touch her!"

"Ben—" Before you could finish, Ben stormed out of the dark, dusty storage room, slamming the door behind him.

"Very mature." You let out a deep sigh. You had no time or energy to deal with this crap. You were up all night cramming for practicing all day with the team yesterday. You fix your uniform and left since you promise Fei you would hang out with her.

After a long day of practice, you tucked yourself under a soft, white blanket.

Y/n had one of those days when she wanted to sink into your bed, hoping none of her family members would find her. But despite the think walls of her bedroom, you could still hear your brothers arguing- again. You covered yourself with a furry pillow, pushing onto your head. Even that didn't make their shouting and breaking decor at one another stop the ringing in your ears.

Y/n relationship with her family was convenience, not love. Or it was to her father Sir Reginald Hargreeves. As she being the most powerful one in the family all Y/n could remember that she was the forgotten team member of the sparrow academy. Ever since Y/n got badly injured on a mission and ended into a coma for ten years Reginald left her out of everything missions, practice's, even spending time with her own family. Reginald wasn't afraid to blame her siblings for putting Y/n into a coma but Y/n hated them for them to take the blame for her mistakes so she made her father believe it was all her fault. Y/n was stuck in this toxic swamp all alone. Or maybe it was better Y/n took the blame for her accident cause she didn't want to hurt her family feelings and she didn't want them to suffer the consequences Y/n went threw because of that. She could never understand why her father hated her so much. Especially after everything she'd done for him. And yet here she is trying to survive yet another day in the luxurious life of hers... that behind the closed doors of the academy is hell of a mansion so called are "home".

You heard silence a little bit after. You took a deep breath, crawling out of your bed that felt like your fortress, helping you survive all the wars in this house had witnessed.

You reached for your phone and saw a few missed from Ben which is stupid since he can come up to your room and talk, but no he rather sent you a text. You seen another text from Jayme, pretty much your bestest friend. You choose to ignore the calls from your boyfriend and, heading up to your bathroom, unfold the entire message Jayme sent you.

From: Jayme

Hey, we're all gonna go out to the club tonight. Wanna come?

Sent Friday 5:52 pm

You signed, not feeling the Friday night vibe as twenty-nice year old like me should. But the truth was, You rather go out than stay in this dreadful place, risking being an invisible partaker in yet another quarrel. You quickly freshened up and was ready to leave about an hour later. You glanced at your reflection in the mirror, amazed at how a little bit of makeup and a sexy outfit could boost one's self-perception. You tended to be insecure about yourself since the accident and now your stuck in your 14 year old body, but when reality your twenty-nice. You blamed your emotionally unsteady childhood too for that because father would never show you attention or love like most fathers would do.

You been struggling with your low self-esteem ever since you recall. It felt like you were fighting your own war with the demons. Demons slumbering inside you, waiting for the least convenient moment to come out and destroy the self-confidence you desperately tried to build all over again. But that wasn't the case tonight. You smiled at yourself, satisfied with how you looked. You slipped a black minidress, with a straight necklace cut out in the middle over your breasts, pleasingly tightening them. The V-cut on the left bottom gave some sultry to its design. You brushed your lips with your favorite Dior gloss in a medium nude shape and drew a simple cat line over your eyelashes, enhancing your look.

                     I'm on my way, J.

You typed the quick response and hit Send, leaving for the party.

               }—————————————-{

"Do you wish me to wait for you, Miss Hargreeves?" my chauffeur asked as we were approaching the club.

"No, you can go back home," you answered as he pulled over in front of the busy club. Music was playing so loud I bet all the buildings could hear it.

"Are you sure miss?" Gregory peeked at my reflection in the rearview mirror, and you met his hazel eyes. The freckles forming around his eyelids he was smiling.

"Yeah, I'm sure. Thanks, Gregory." You said and got out of the car.

You looked at the two level club with massive windows through which you could spot your family having a wild fun, and suddenly, all the confidence you had faded away. You took a deep breath as the overwhelming feeling of anxiety rushed over your body. You forced yourself to smile and somehow moved forward.

"Y/N!"

Jayme spotted you from afar and, squeezing herself between some people.

"I was worried you wouldn't come." She said while taking a sip of her drink.

"Haven't you seen my text idiot?" You arched your eyebrow, smiling.

"Oh, God, no." She laughed before finishing her drink and throwing the empty cup on the ground. "Sorry. I don't even know where my phone is."

Jayme grabbed you by your elbow and led you to an enormous dance floor. There was an open drink bar, leather couch's everywhere by the see-through glass wall, and at least three hundred square feet of space in the middle where some people were dancing. The room was dim, with a few colorful flashing lights glistening against the ceiling giving that club vide. You glanced across the area, searching for Ben. You spotted him drinking shots. He seemed immersed in thought, not paying much attention to people cheerfully laughing around him. Among others, Christopher and Marcus, who was overly gesticulating while enthusiastically  telling something.

I was about to walk over to Ben when I noticed a random girl who stood by Bens right arm, cooing at him. Jayme quickly picked up on your mood as you involuntarily clenched your jaw, watching my so-called boyfriend letting a girl touch him.

"Your not jealous of the girl touching Ben, are you," Jayme said, glaring at the girl while a sarcastic smirk formed on her face. She grabbed a drink from a bar countertop behind us.

"Want me to throw my drink on her?" She said spinning the drink in her hand.

"I'm not Jayme, don't worry." I said dryly.

"Don't worry if I need you to throw a drink on someone, I'll let you know." I said to Jayme, drinking the martini she handed me in one go.

My eyes were still on that random girl, whispering something into Ben's ear, and a playful smile appeared on his face.

What did she tell him that he suddenly looks so amused.

"You know that Ben is head over heels over for you, Y/n." Jayme nudged my elbow.

"I know. It's just... I don't trust Ben sometimes."

Jayme chucked softly.

"Well, why don't you go over there and give him a kick in his ass?" Jayme asked. But I didn't even have to answer. It took her only one glance at me, and she know, "Oh, you two fought?"

"Yeah," I sighed, casting my eyes downward to the ground.

"You guys have been fighting a lot lately." Her gaze was penetrated me. "Wanna talk about it?"

"Nope," I said shortly and looked up to face her.

From the corner of my your eye, you noticed Ben was now looking in your direction.

Ben gaze lingered on mine skin made my stomach clench. Your heart was telling you to go over and kiss him to end your infantile quarrel. But then, something stopped you, urging it was him who should make the first move. And that something, whatever it was, won. You turned on your heels and headed to a close by room, luckily it was empty. As you we're squeezing through the crowd of people, you heard two random dudes shouting to one another, obnoxiously checking me out from head to toe.

"Have you seen Y/n Hargreeves?" A pale-skinned guy with a sunflower-blonde hair leaned toward his friend before gulping his beer.

"Who wouldn't notice that ass, bro?" the friend scoffed. "Fucking hot!"

And I knew Ben heard them too because when I fleetingly peeked in his direction, he was glaring at me with the kind of gaze I knew far too well. He was seething with jealousy.

}————————————————{

I sat down in the empty room, deep into my thoughts with my eyes glued to the red velvet silk curtains.

"I'm sorry for earlier," I heard a familiar voice whispering in my ear as warm hands slid around my waist from behind. You didn't even have to turn to know who it was. You knew that scent of sandalwood with a hint of geranium hitting your nose by heart. You turned to face Ben. He looked like a lost puppy begging me to help him find his way back home.

"I'm sorry, Y/n. I acted like a dick earlier today," he said with an apologetic tone.

"You did act like a dick." You smirked, gazing into his coffee-colored eyes. But even his gorgeous face wouldn't make up for his behavior earlier today.

"Can I make it up to you somehow?" he said, caressing my cheek with his thumb.

"Well... I might forgive you if you kiss me now." You smiled at him, and his face lightened up. I couldn't be mad at Ben for too long.

He slowly leaned in, sliding his hand at the back of my neck. His warm lips gently brushed over mine. "You look so hot tonight. I couldn't take my eyes off you," he whispered against my lips, out breaths mingling before closing the tiny gap with a kiss.

"Hey, Lovebirds!" Alphonso raspy voice broke in our tender moment. "Get a different room, this one is mine!" he joked, while holding many different shot glasses in this arms.

"Are we good?" Ben asked you after slowly pulling away, setting his eyes on yours.

"I get it you can't keep it in your pants. But you guys are gonna miss out on the party!" Alphonso teasing comment made me blush. I turned my gaze back to Ben, who rolled his eyes with annoyance.

You smiled and grabbed his hand. "We're good." And I led him back outside.

About an hour later, I was on my third drink and I felt dizzy. Usually, I avoided alcohol since my 14 year old body couldn't handle it. The party was in full swing, and I was chatting with Jayme and Fei. I searched across the room for Ben but couldn't spot him. I wanted to ask him to drop me home. I knew his driver was waiting for him because we'd always been doing that. I'd dismiss Gregory, and Ben's driver would stick around.

"Have you guy's seen Ben?" I ask Jayme and Fei.

Fei quickly checked out the room before replying, "Nope."

"Maybe he weren't somewhere with Christopher? I can't see him either," Jayme added.

"Yeah, I'll check upstairs. Maybe they went for another drink."

"Yeah, probably." Fei smiled. "Want me to go with you?"

"Nah, I'm fine. I need to use the toilet on my way there."

"On your way back, can you get me another beer?" Jayme asked.

"Yeah I'll be back." I gave the girl's reassuring look and set aside my drink before following toward the restroom.

The toilet was on the second floor was occupied, so I decided to go upstairs. I knew this clubs in and out since we always come here every Friday. With each step up the stairs, the loud music playing downstairs seemed to fade away. I was about to turn the corner to the bathroom in-till I bump into someone but then I realized it was my sister Sloane.

"Shit, sorry Sloane I didn't see you" I told her.

"Hey it's alright." She replied with a smile on her face.

"Hey have you seen Ben, I can't find anywhere in this stupid place."

Sloane smiled on her face disappear once I asked her that question like if she misheard my question. She turned her head in confusion.

"I just saw you walk into that room with Ben, wasn't that just you?"

I was about to get answer Sloane, but something stopped me. I heard moaning coming from one of the private rooms of the club. It wasn't something unusual. People hooked up at the private rooms, but this time was different. I felt a cold shiver sweeping down my spine, realizing it was Ben's voice moaning.

My heart started racing like crazy as I ran over to open the red velvet curtain. The closer I'd get, the louder I'd hear the moans. I grabbed the curtain and pulled it. My hands were shaking. I was not ready for what I was about to see. My eyes grew wide, and I gasped in shock. I saw Ben and a random girl making out. Both half-naked.

"Oh my god, Ben!" Sloane yelled once she saw what I seen.

"Shit! Y/n?!" Ben's face fell as soon as he spotted me, gawking at them with my jaw dropped. "It's not what you think !" He tired to devise some ridiculous excuse while hurriedly buttoning his fly, but before he managed to put himself together, I stormed out there faster than a speeding bullet.

"Y/n! Wait!" Sloane tired to grab me but I managed to break free from her grip. "What the hell Ben!" Sloane yelled at Ben.

Tears were running down my face as I was running down the street. I didn't know where or for how long. I kept running, holding my expensive Louis Vuitton high heels in your hands, and my perfectly done makeup was likely ruined. The picture of my boyfriend's hand sliding down for random girl's tanned belly. With each passing second, the excruciating pain tearing my heart apart intensified. I'd never felt so broken before, and believe me, my life had been fucked up just enough to make me experience all kinds of shitty feelings. I could barely see through my watery eyes, and I hadn't noticed the car approaching me from across the street. Then just when I thought it would hit me, I heard a load screech of brakes as the driver managed to stop an inch before me.

"Are you fucking crazy?!" he shouted at me before he managed to step out of the car. You couldn't guess if he was more shaken because he almost hit me with his speeding car or more furious that I ran in front of it, risking destroying his brand-new, shiny black Bugatti. But, as soon as our eyes met, he kind of... froze.

And that's when I met him. The most handsome man I'd ever laid my eyes on with the kind of piercing blue-greenish eyes that told me I should run the other way.
