⇉ Chapter Ten

It was a difficult day, almost everything was piled up and unfinished for years. It was like faith decided to take a huge turn and figure that I haven't had enough of bad in life. But that's thing about it, about life, all the good things just have to come to an end.

And maybe with all those difficulties we begin to understand there is so much more to everything that you have ever known. I think that it's okay and that it will always be okay, there's no other feeling or reassurance. This is life and that's the thing about it, and there are these things in this life that people never really recover from.

(26th of September, Friday)

"So, what do you think?" Gwen asked, her eyes lighting up like balls of fire.

"I'm sorry, what about?" I said, biting my lip. I really didn't mean to space out, but it just happened.

"You weren't listening, again. Were you?" Wendy scolded, her eyes narrowing as she pushed her small framd glasses up her nose and sat up straighter. I wondered how her back didn't her from sitting like a wooden plank the whole day.

"I'm sorry, I just got distracted. Really," I sighed, pushing the cup of coffee from here to there.

"Okay, we were going to go shopping after school today and were wondering if you'd like to tag along. Of course we know that you usually don't, but we're still wondering and well-" Mia rambled here eyes bouncing through the school cafeteria as she spoke apace, before Wendy cut her off.

"All right bouncy balls, she get's the point," she joked and I laughed along. No one would ever really know where Mia derived her energy from.

"So, would you update us on what's going on between you and David?" Gwen inquired, her eyebrow raised as she fixed the bun tied up on her head.

"There's nothing really to say, we went on a date yesterday an-" I started, but of course with the girls it was impossible to finish anything off.

"Oh my god!"

"I can't believe you didn't tell us."

"Were you even planning to?"

The three of them chastised. It was difficult to cope with the three of them separately and they wanted me to be able to cope with the three of them all together? Somebody please tell me there is a god.

"If you're not going to listen, I might as well get ready for my next class since the bell is about to ring anyway," I sounded out, and rolled my cup of coffee once again. I don't know why we did this every day, the girls would fish out something that is edible from the cafeteria whilst I would buy the same coffee over and over again and never really drink it. Just mess around with the cup and leave it behind.

"Sorry," Wendy mumbled, adjusting her white blouse.

"He took me to the beach and we just sat there and talked, like random talk nothing really serious and then he took me to the diner at Lacy's and yes, I have eaten something and it was surprisingly good. He gave me a kiss on my forehead before we left to the diner and after that we just shared an awkward hug before I walked home. That was basically it."

"Aww, that's so cute," Mia cooed, clapping her hands and scattering her chicken salad all over the floor, "oops," she muttered.

"It's always an oops with you," I said, rolling my eyes and folding my arms across my chest.

Before anyone could say anything else a petite dark haired girl with bright gray eyes comes up to us, "Hello."

"Hey.." I said, raising an eyebrow at her and then continuing, "How can we help you?" I asked.

"Oh um... I'm new here. My name's Laura Cappato, I'm from London and I was just wondering if I could join you guys for lunch? Since I don't know anybody else here," well that explains her weird accent.

"Are you kidding? What makes you think you can talk to us?" I asked, which earned me a punch on the shoulder from Wendy.

"You guys seem, eh, nice. I guess," she gummed and I rolled my eyes at her.

"Of course you can. Take a seat," said Wendy, pulling up a chair from the empty table next to us and placing it right next to mine. Great.

"Thank You," she smiled, her front teeth awkwardly too far from each other. She reminded me of a witch. Gwen shot me a look as if she knew what I was thinking and I threw a sheepish grin back at her.

"So London yeah?" Mia asked, her eyes lighting up once again.

"Yeah, I moved here last year and thought I'd start school a little bit later. I really needed a break," she laughed as if it was some sort of joke and we all just looked at her, she mumbled an apology.

"Look, if you're looking for something to dig in here and fill the girls over there," I said, pointing at the ones sitting on Dylan's lap- everyone but Gwen looked - and continued, "with fake tits, then I suggest you leave now. We're not the popular gang here and we're not going to help you get out there too. There's the pair of guys you can dig that are single," I snapped, pointing at all the guys sitting in Dylan's table. "And there are the occupied ones, I'm sure they're looking for a dig too," I pointed at the table next to Dylan's.

"We're not going to consider anybody's bull crap here, we've all been through too much already so if you think that you can stumble your British arse here and think that it's okay, then you're dead wrong because if you aim for perfection then that's your biggest mistake and I am telling you this now. Popularity has a debt," when I was finished saying whatever I had to say the bell rang and all of them stared at me wide eyed, with Layla's or Lara's, whatever her name was mouth hanging open. Smiling sweetly, I picked up my bag and threw my coffee into the bin on my way out.

"Hey," David greeted, his pace, jogging as he caught up with me.

"Hello, darling," I said and he grimaced, which made me laugh. I think it was the type of darling a grandmother would call her grandson.

"Sorry, love. I just couldn't help myself. Anyway, what class do you have right now?" I asked.

"History."

I groaned, "You're so lucky! I wish I had that class."

"You have got to be kidding me," he chuckled, fixing the woolen cap he was wearing on his head.

"Nope I am not and trust me it is so much better than being in Daniel's class."

"I can imagine the fuss you make," he laughed.

"Whatever," I mumbled, bumping into his shoulder and then turning around to face him, "Well, I'm here. I'll see you after school, yeah?"

"Sure," he smiled.

Surprisingly the class was always full when it came to Spanish, everyone waited for this class because it was thought by Mr. Kiddman who was one of the youngest teachers in class and not to mention, good looking.

"Class, please be seated," the teacher laughed as some girl screamed, "I want your D."

"Now," Mr. Kiddman started, "If I will hear any perverted jokes being passed around the class and thrown around like they're nothing, especially at me. I will have to write in your registers. Please be careful," I rolled my eyes at the desperate twitches in class.

"Do you want the D?" Daniel whispered in my ears, making me shudder in disgust and the whole class laugh. Why couldn't he whisper anymore louder for the rest of the school? Not my sarcasm.

"No thanks," I replied, smiling. "I got the D in Math," winking, I turned to look at the teacher who decided to finally start the class.
