Billy the robo-jockey sat still and ready on the back of his brass ride. It may have looked like a horse, but it worked more like a steam powered bicycle. The single loop roller coaster dropped off over the arena at a height of five thousand yards.

         The kite wings of his fellow racers unfolded smoothly across from him. His arch-rival, Richabold, winked at him from across the diving platform as Billy's own wings refused to open.

         He examined the hatch on the side of his mechanical steed only to find it nailed shut. The clicking of kite wings trying and failing to open reverberate within the brass beast.  Over this sound another click can be heard behind him as the platform finally shoots him down the coaster. The usually exhilarating feeling of the tracks beneath him took a much more terrifying connotation. He fumbled in his pocket for a screwdriver to pry the square loose, but alas his sweaty palms couldn't hold on.

         As he banked the end of the loop near the end of the coaster the screwdriver seemed to linger in the air by his face just out of grasp. The tracks gave way to the familiar smoothness of the glide, only it was more of a earthbound dive.

         With a frantic and failed grasping at the screwdriver Billy returned his attention to the panel. A quick pat down of his suit reveled that he had in fact... nothing else on him. Why would he, it would weigh him down?!

With a last ditch effort he pounded away at the soft metal with his fist.

         The nails seemed to have already been loosened by the earlier shaking of the rails. With a final click the wings shot out with a brilliant blue and white painted flare. The horses hooves sparked against the ground as Billy pulled up on the handles of his ride. The dive gave him a speed that the other racers couldn't hope to match as he caught up and passed them all from below.

         With the crowd cheering the name of his horse, The Brass Beauty, and a passing wink at Richabold, Billy swooped over the finish line in first place!
