Chapter 6: Drunk Off My Ass Thanks to Fidget

"I'm the Masked Musician,' she said. Then she walked away, hoping the best for Sammy." I told everyone in the Bounty Bistro.

There was an awkward silence after I finished with my story. I gulped, did they like my version of the story? My story is pretty accurate, or maybe it's too accurate. It's going to be too suspicious, as if I was actually there. Oh crap, they're going to put two and two together. Three years of hard work all for nothing.

Luke broke the silence. "That was..."

I held my breath. There will no longer be a Masked Musician.

"Awesome!" Some drunk person finished.

Everyone whooped and cheered, chanting my name. They gave me pats on the back, saying compliments for my story telling.

Here in the Medieval America, people appreciate a good story-telling. Compared to back then when everyone is too busy having their noses in front of smart phones and such. Sure, we still have that stuff, but the Era of Technology has passed. Technology isn't as appreciated now compared to back then, now we rely on human company than computers.

Then I heard someone cleared his throat that silenced everyone. Sammy sat down to the seat next to him. He was a slim middle-aged guy, older than the last time I saw him. He grown tanner and had a longer beard. He has bags under his eyes, I bet from the endless night to make his life better. But he still had that glint in his eyes, he's still the honest man I met 3 years ago.

"That was a better story than I could have ever told," he said with a drunk grin.

I laughed, "Thank you."

"Now for your 5 grand..."

I snorted. "Nah, I don't need."

"I'm a man of my word, are you a woman of yours?"

I chuckled at that. "Yes, yes I am-"

He pulled out his checkbook, but I stopped him.

"But, how about we change the promise. A free drink, how 'bout that?"

He hesitated, but nodded. Luke handed me another Alice in Wonderland, with lightning speed. I chugged it down, and was about to request for another one when Dominic stopped me.

He wore a worried look on his face. "You shouldn't, Melody. I don't want to take you home all drunk."

I sighed, "The faith you have in me, Domino."

"Domino?"

"Yeah, you know, Domino, Dominic."

He chuckled at that.

"See, you like the name. Domino, Nick, Nicky, Nickster. Nick, nick nick nick nick nick nick, nick, Nickelodeon," I sang.

"You're drunk, you should stop."

"But I don't wanna," I whined. "How come you get to drink more than me? You're like, like on your 4th glass."

"That's because I can hold my alcohol."

"Excuses," I said rolling my eyes.

"Melody..."

I ignored him and said to Luke in a British accent, "I would like your best scotch my good man."

"C'mon right up!"

"Luke! You know better to give her some more." Dominic said.

"I think she can take a few more, she's a bounty hunter. Let her have a drink."

Dominic grumbled something but said nothing.

Luke served me my drink. I gulped it down in a matter of seconds. I felt a little woozy, but I want some more drinks. Luke did say they were on the house, that made put an evil thought in my head. I ordered one drink after the next, having the menu become like a checklist for me.

"Senior," I said, talking to Luke. "Piña colada, por favor."

"Yes, senorita." He grinned, liking my change in personality.

Dominic watched in disapproval as I ordered drink after drink. But it was Fidget who tried to stop me as Luke set down my drink. He whined, as if he was begging me to stop.

I patted his head, "It's okay Fidge. I just want a drink or two."

Dominic muttered, "You passed that many drinks ago." But I didn't hear that.

Sammy smiled at me. "Well I should go home now. I have things to do."

Everyone awwed, but yelled their goodbyes to Sammy. Before he was about to go I grabbed his sleeve, surprising him.

I whispered into his ear, "I made the right choice, I'm proud of you Samuel Vasquez."

He stiffened at his real name and looked at me.

But my only reply was putting my finger to my lips, with a drunk, mischievous smile plastered on my face.

He nodded, "I'm glad you did Melody."

Then left the bar, humming what I think was a small version of the Song of the Soul.

I continued to order more drinks. Fidget continued to stop me. He kept on spilling my drinks, flicking his tail to tickle me so I can accidentally spill my drink, or mess up Luke as he prepared my drinks. But his attempts failed, because I was drunk off my ass when Dominic finally stopped me.

"No more," he said to me.

"One more," I said to Luke.

Like shook his head. "I thing you had enough Melody."

I pouted. "But you said drinks are on the house."

He sighed. "I know I said drinks on the house, but you don't have go overboard."

"I just want another drink," I cried.

"That's what you said on your last drink, and the drink after that, and the drink after that." Dominic reasoned.

I gave Dominic my Bambi eyes and tugged on his sleeve. "Please Dominic."

"Er..."

I inched closer, putting my arms around his neck but still keeping my distance. "Please..."

I noticed him eyeing my lips for a moment until Luke pushed us away from each other.

"I suggest you take this lady home before she gets any more seductive."

Dominic nodded in agreement. "That's probably a good idea though this side of Melody is-"

Luke glared at him. "Really Domino, really?"

He laughed. "I was kidding, later Luke."

"Later, and good luck on that hangover you're going to have in the morning, Melody."

"Goodbye Sir Luke," I slurred. "Until our paths cross, we shall meet again."

Dominic took me by the hand and led me out of the bar as Luke muttered, "One of a kind, that one."

"I don't wanna to go home!" I cried.

"Yes you do." Dominic urged.

"Domino, I wanna have fun!"

"Why!?"

"'Cause girls just wanna have fun! Oh, girls just wanna have fun!" I sang.

He chuckled. "I have to admit, that was pretty clever of you."

I grinned at him as if I achieved an award or something. "Thank you Sir Domino, now off to my palace."

"You want to go home?"

"Sike!"

He groaned. "Looks like I have to take you home through force."

I placed my hand on his chest and made him back up to a wall. I inched my face close to his. "Force you say?"

He chuckled at my actions. "As much as I love this side of you. Not like that."

"Then what do you- Eeeek!"

With incredible strength Dominic lifted me up and threw me over his shoulder. I shrieked at the action he just did I did everything I could do for so he could to let me down. But I was drunk and tired, I didn't have that much strength to fight anymore. Even Fidget who seems to hate Dominic's guts at the first sight of him, didn't do anything. He just sat there watching Dominic doing this.

I sighed. "Let me down."

"No."

"I can walk by myself."

"No."

"I'm not going to run off."

"No."

"I need to pee."

He hesitated. I bet he was thinking, she did drink probably the whole menu back in the bar....

"Nice try, Melody."

I groaned. "Fine."

I knew he was smiling to himself. "Good, now where's your place again?"

I grinned. "Maybe if you let me down, I could-"

"Hey Fidget, could you lead me to the hotel?"

Fidget, my loyal friend who stood by my side for 12 years, started walking down the sidewalk leading Dominic to the hotel.

"Fidget you traitor," I grumbled.

Soon we arrived at the front of the hotel. Fidget grabbed the keys from my back pocket. He gave it to Dominic who opened the door. The manager of the hotel, Jerry, saw us come in.

He stood up from his desk. "Uh...what are you doing to her?"

"Kidnapping," I muttered.

His eyes widened. "Let her down or I-I'll call the knights."

Yay, my hero, I thought. No offense Jerry, but Dominic here can squash you like a bug.

"Why thank you for the compliment, Melody."

I blushed, He can read my thoughts?

"No," Dominic replied. "You're just saying your thoughts out loud without realizing it."

"Just let her go, sir," Jerry said.

"Melody's drunk if you haven't notice. And I'm being a good friend and taking her to her room."

Jerry hesitated but then nodded. "Fine, her room is on the top floor, room K13."

Dominic frowned. "How come you know her room number?"

Jerry blushed. "She was the only one who requested for the top floor, okay?"

Dominic didn't reply and headed into the elevator. Finally we arrived to my bedroom and he dropped me on my bed.

"Ow?" I groaned.

"Your welcome." Dominic smiled.

"Blah, blah, blah. I don't want to go to sleep."

"You need to rest."

"But I'm not sleepy."

"Fine, I'll just stay here until you fall asleep." He said as he took a seat on a chair.

"Finding a way to become a stalker already Dominic?"

He snorted. "I'm just being a good friend."

I couldn't think of a good comeback so I got off the bed. I stretched. and started to unbutton my shirt.

"Whoa, whoa, what do you think you're doing?" Dominic asked in disbelief.

"I'm gonna take a shower, duh."

"I can see that. The question is, why?"

I sniffed myself. "I'm smelly and I stink of alcohol. I want to go to sleep nice and refreshed."

Dominic sighed. "Fine, just let me go to the other room."

"Hurry up, I want to shower."

Then I continued to take off my shirt. Dominic being the gentleman that he is, quickly ran out the room. I yawned and headed into my bathroom to finish undressing and got into the shower. I couldn't help but start singing in the shower, and guess what I sang. Domino by Jessie J.

"I'm feeling sexy and free, like glitter's raining on me." I sang. "You're like a shot of pure gold, I think I'm 'bout to explode."

I heard a creak from the door outside the shower. Maybe that was Fidget wanting to listen me sing.

So I continued to sing. "I could taste the tension like a cloud of smoke in the air. Now I'm breathing like I'm running 'cause you're taking me there. Don't you know? You spin me out of control!"

Then my singing was interrupted by the sounds of....running water. Either Fidget wanted to take a bath in the sink without me bribing him, or he was peeing. Something told me it was the second option.

"Ugh, Fidge! You know better than to do that while I'm in the shower."

I turned off the shower, so I could now clearly hear that Fidge was still doing it. I grabbed my towel from its hoop that was outside of my shower and wrapped myself in it. Even though Fidget is my pet, he's been my friend for years and no way I'm going to strut naked in front of him. I stepped out of the shower and shrieked.

"Dominic!!!"

"Eh?"

Then he realized that I got out of the shower and quickly zipped his pants up. Thank God his back was facing me.

"Why are you here?" I demanded. "I thought you knew I was in the shower!"

"I did, its just I really needed to pee since I was holding it for a while now. And since you were singing, really good I might add, I thought I can make a relieve myself then get out."

I'm still pretty drunk so I barely understood what he just said since he was talking really fast.

"Whatever." I said. "Now go here before something else happens."

He chuckled. "You do know that you just jinx right now?"

I snorted. "Don't tell me you believe in that stuff."

"Well not really, but its fun to think of that."

"Uh huh," I muttered not believing him.

I grabbed a hair tie and tied my hair in a loose bun. While doing this I was walking to the sink past Dominic to brush my teeth. Me still pretty drunk, I didn't think of this action through. That and I didn't tie the towel well.

"Er....." Dominic muttered as he stared at the dropped towel on the floor than at me.

I shrieked, pathetically trying to cover myself up. "Who the hell do you think you're ogling at?!"

"Im sorry!" He covered his eyes while looking away. Too late for that idiot. "But what guy wouldn't stare at those, I mean that, I mean you?"

"Leave before I kill and feed you to Fidge." I grumbled.

"Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll just"- he bumped into the wall- "I'm going to go."

He then left the bathroom. I sighed. I suddenly thought of my bucket list. Flashing a guy. Check.

I changed into a large t-shirt and small shorts. I got out of the bathroom and went to the bedroom to see Dominic beet red, sitting on a chair.

"You're not going to think of me as some kind of perverted are you?"

"Ask me again when I'm sober."

He laughed. "Sure, you wouldn't mind if I crash here would you?"

"A perverted stalker asking if he could crash at my apartment where I live alone. Let me think about it...."

"Please Melody. I'm beat."

"Don't you mean beet red?"

He ignored my clever use of wordplay.

"I don't want to head home this late and its so dark. You wouldn't let me walk the streets drunk and tired, would you?"

I sighed, giving in. "Fine."

"Thanks." He headed out of the room.

I went over to my bed and crashed into it. I fell asleep almost instantly.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hi, sorry that I uploaded this late. I couldn't manage to find a way to end the chapter. abut it is and I hope you like it. There were a lot of awkward moments int his chapter. And any of my friend in the real world who are reading this, don't judge me. Jk. It isn't a story until you have a character do something to cross something off their bucket list. Or that's what I think every story needs to do. Don't you think?

The book should be [PG] but it's staying at [PG-13]. And it won't let me change it. So this book is [PG-13]. The excitement! (Sarcasm included)

I'm writing another book called The Rubix Cube Challenge. I hope you'll read it. Thanks. I have to cut this author's note a bit short.

'Til the Next Update,
