The Brambilla's, The Beginning

Three weeks after Eddie had left and Leone had to leave early to meet with the contractors about their home she woke up feeling nauseous. She ran to the bathroom and threw up, it was then that she realized her period was late. But she wanted to be sure before she said anything to him. So taking a shower and getting dressed she went to the front door and told the men who were guarding her that she wanted to go shopping.

"Okay Mrs. Brambilla, I'll just call your husband and get the okay."

She rolled her eyes and closed the door, it was frustrating having to get his permission to go anywhere. When her phone rang she picked it up and it was Leone.

Hey baby, I hear you want to go out.

"Yes, and why do I have to have your permission?"

It's for your safety.

"I understand that and I don't have a problem with having those men go with me. But I see no reason why they had to call you and get permission. Am I your prisoner now?"

Of course not, but where do you want to go?

"I want to go to the drugstore."

What's wrong? Are you not feeling well and should I make you a doctor's appointment?

"Oh for crying out loud, I just want to go and pick up a few things."

If you need anything I can pick it up for you on the way home or have the store deliver you whatever it is.

"I want to go myself and for your information, I just want to pick up some feminine products, shampoo and things like that and I prefer to pick them out myself."

Okay, baby, I'll tell my men to go ahead and take you. From now on if you want to go somewhere I will let them know that they don't have to call me. But I would really appreciate it if you would let me know when you're going out and where you're going to. Just so that I don't worry.

"Thank you," she said before hanging up.

When she got to the drug store the men followed her inside. She turned to them as they entered the store. "I don't need you by my side while I look around."

"Sorry ma'am, but we have been told to stay with you."

"Look, I understand you have your orders. But you can see me from here. I do not want you both following beside me. It's embarrassing and unnecessary." She did not want them to see her buying a pregnancy test.

When she walked away the one guy looked at the other one. "Should we follow her anyways?"

The other one shook his head. "And take the risk of her getting mad and complaining to the boss? I don't think so, I value my job and my life. We can see her from here, and there are mirrors above the ceiling so we will be able to watch and make sure no one bothers her."

She grabbed a small basket and started walking around, picking up odds and ends such as shampoo, lotions and a variety of other things before getting to the section where the pregnancy tests were. She discreetly picked up two tests and placed them in the basket, then headed to the cashier to pay for them. She looked to make sure that the guys couldn't see what she had placed on the counter and quickly paid for them. Stuffing the tests in the bottom of the bag she headed towards the door.

"Is there anywhere else you'd like to go Mrs. Brambilla?"

"No thanks, just take me home." But as they were driving past a shop she told them to stop. Getting out they went inside the store and she picked up two lawn-like chairs. Paying for them she let the men carry them.

Her bodyguards figured she wanted them for the balcony to put by the pool. But when they got home and they were about to carry them inside she stopped them.

"No, leave them out here."

They both looked at her and the heavier set one asked her why she wanted them left outside the door.

"I know that you two have to stay out here and I see no reason why you should have to be on your feet the whole time. So you might as well be able to sit." Now of course Leone had others who took over for them on a regular basis, but she still wanted them to be comfortable.

"I'm not sure the boss will like it."

"You let me worry about him. Once I tell him it was my idea he won't say a word. Thank you for taking me shopping."

When she closed the door behind her they positioned the chairs on each side of the door and sat down, smiling at one another.

As soon as she was inside she took her bag upstairs and went into the bathroom. Putting everything away and took the two tests out of their box, reading the instructions. Taking a deep breath she took one of the tests, and then she took the other one just in case the first one did not work the way it should.

She started pacing back and forth, checking her watch every second. Come on, come on, she kept muttering under her breath. When the time was up she picked up one of the tests and stared at it. She couldn't help but smile from ear to ear when she saw the results, then she picked up the other one to make sure it was the same. When both showed she was pregnant she started squealing and jumping up and down. **********************

As soon as Leone walked in the door and closed it behind him he saw her running towards him and put his arms around her when she flung herself into them, wrapping her legs around his waist. "Well I'm happy to see you too," he said as she kept kissing all over his face.

She stopped kissing him, smiled as she kept her arms around his neck. "I love you so much and I have something to tell you."

"Judging by this amazing smile on your face it must be something really good."

"It is, I'm pregnant."

His jaw dropped open as he stared into her eyes. "Are you sure?"

She removed one arm from his neck and reached into the back of her pocket and pulled out one of the pregnancy sticks. Holding it up for him to see.

He placed her down on her feet and took the stick from her hand. Happiness filled his heart and a wide smile appeared on his face. "Can we be sure? I mean I have heard that sometimes these things don't always work and show a false pregnancy."

"I bought two of the test and did both of them, they both show positive."

Dropping the stick he placed the palms of his hands on each side of her cheeks. Without saying a word he kissed her. He was so overjoyed with happiness he picked her up in his arms and carried her over to the sofa.

Laying her down he climbed on top of her, looking lovingly into her eyes. "The day you became my wife was the happiest day of my life. Now, this is the second happiest day of my life. You have made me so happy and I love you so much."

She put her hands behind his head and pulled him back down for a kiss. Breaking the kiss she ran her fingertips over his bottom lip. "I think we should celebrate."

"Yes, I agree. What would you like to do? We could go out to dinner and then dancing."

"I was thinking of something else."

"Anything you want," he said, kissing the side of her neck.

"I want to celebrate upstairs, in our bed. I want you to make love to me."

Now, that was music to his ears. Getting up he took her hands and pulled her off the sofa. Lifting her into his arms he carried her upstairs bridal style.

"Now that's what I call celebrating," he said after two hours of making love. Wrapping his arms around her he stroked the side of her cheek. "We have to make a doctor's appointment for you right away. With any luck, we will be living in our new home before the baby arrives."

"That would be amazing, but if it's not ready that's okay too. The baby will be sleeping in the same room with us for at least a couple of months. By that time we should be in our new home."

"Just think baby, we are finally starting our family."

"We'll have to call Eddie and let him know he's going to be a godfather. I just know he's going to be so happy for us."

"We can call him tomorrow, tonight I want us just to lay here together and bask in the joy of knowing we are going to be parents. I love you so much, my love."

"I love you too." She lifted her head up to look at him. "You know I'm going to have to go shopping and get some maternity clothes and then there are all the baby things we'll need."

"Of course, you will," he said, rolling his eyes when she laid her head back down on his chest. This woman loved shopping and this was the perfect excuse to do so. But he didn't mind one little bit, whatever made her happy he was all for it.

When he woke up in the morning and she was still asleep he went downstairs for some coffee and he wanted to call Eddie and tell him the good news.

Hey, what's up buddy?

"I have some good news to tell you."

Well, you sound really happy so it must be really good news.

"I'm going to be a father, Eleonora is pregnant. I should have waited for her to be here to tell you but I just couldn't wait."

That is fantastic news and congratulations to both of you. Is she up so that I can talk to her?

"She's still asleep but I'm sure that when she wakes up she'll call you. Actually, I wasn't supposed to say anything until we went to the doctor and had it confirmed."

Then don't tell her you told me, that way when she calls me I'll act surprised.

"No, I'm going to tell her. I made a promise to her never to keep secrets. Anyways, how are things going where you are?"

Well I decided to fly over to Egypt for a while and I met a lovely woman there, her name is Savannah.

"Is it serious?" Knowing Eddie it was probably just a fling.

No, we're just having some fun with each other, she's leaving to go back to Japan where she lives. I will wait for Eleonora's phone call.

When they were done chatting for a while Leone decided to surprise her and took her up some toast, fruit and a coffee.

She sat up when she saw him entering the bedroom. "Now what is this for?"

"I knew you would be hungry after last night and now that you're pregnant I don't want you lifting a hand. I'm going to get Molly to come back and do the cooking as well as her regular duties of cleaning."

"Darling, I love that she's going to be doing the cleaning but as for the cooking I want you to leave that up to me. I enjoy cooking, and I like the fact that I can make meals for my husband."

He knew better than to argue with her. "I'll make a deal with you. For the time being, you can continue cooking but once you get further along then Molly will be doing it and I will not take no for an answer."

She couldn't help smiling at him, at least he was compromising. It wasn't something he usually did with anyone, even her.

"I called Eddie earlier and told him the good news."

She placed her cup down on the tray and gave him a dirty look. "I wanted to wait until after the doctor's appointment so that we could tell him together."

He went and sat down on the bed next to her. "I know, but I was just so excited about becoming a father I had to tell somebody. Please don't be mad at me, you know I'm not a man of great patience."

"Well, I guess I can forgive you this once. We should call and make the doctor's appointment. I know that I'm pregnant, I just want it confirmed."

"I have already taken care of it and the doctor's schedule opened up and you can go in and see him this afternoon. I want you to know that I will be going to every appointment with you."

She smiled at him as she took a bite of her toast. "I figured you would and I'm glad."

That afternoon when they got to the doctor's office they were shown right in. Even though they told him he could wait in the waiting room he made a point of letting them know that he will be with her during the whole examination. Being who he was they were not going to refuse him.

Sitting on the edge of the table in the gown they provided for her she gave him a stern look. "Why must you argue with everybody?"

"I'm not arguing, I'm just letting them know that I will always be in the room with you."

"But there's no need for you to be in here while I'm being examined. And I certainly do not want you freaking out when you see the doctor checking me out, touching me. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes my love, and I do have an idea of what all will take place. I am not going to be upset with a doctor doing his job. But I will also be here the whole time just so that he doesn't do anything inappropriate."

All she could do was roll her eyes at him, this man at times could be impossible. A doctor came in and introduced himself to both of them and proceeded with the examination. Shortly later the doctor smiled, giving them the news that she was three weeks pregnant. Giving her the prescription for the prenatal pills and scheduling appointments for her the happy couple left the office. He took her out to lunch to celebrate.
