The Brambilla's, The Beginning

She felt a sense of sadness when Leone left with the others. It wasn't the way she expected her wedding night to be. She stood watching them leave until they were no longer in sight, already she was missing him like crazy.

"Mrs. Brambilla, we need to get you upstairs."

She turned to the man who was with three others. "What did you call me?"

The man looked at the others and swallowed hard. He was afraid he had said something to make her mad. "I said we need to get you upstairs."

"Before that."

He had to think for a minute before it hit him. "I called you Mrs. Brambilla." He felt a sense of relief when he saw her smile. The last thing he ever wanted to do was upset her or he would suffer great pain from his boss.

She smiled back at the young man. "Mrs. Brambilla, I like the sounds of that." She followed the men, one was on each side of her, one in the front and the other behind her. This was something she had gotten used to in the last few months and now thought nothing of it.

When they arrived at the honeymoon suite she waited while they checked every part of the suite.

"Everything is clear Mrs. Brambilla and if you need anything we will be right outside."

"Thank you, I'll be fine."

When they were gone she looked around the room, he had thought of everything. There were pink roses all throughout the suite. Champagne was chilling in a bucket, a bowl of strawberries and in the bedroom rose petals were placed on the bed in a shape of a heart. Candles everywhere waiting to be lit. She wanted to be ready for when he returned, so taking off her necklace and earrings she put them in the safe that was provided. Then she took a shower and later put on the satin gown and robe she bought especially for tonight.

She was sitting waiting patiently when all of a sudden she heard a ruckus outside the door. She jumped to her feet just as the door was kicked open and three men she didn't recognize ran towards her. She tried to run but was caught and something was put over her mouth and then darkness overcame her.

When Leone and his men got close to the factory they all knew there was something wrong. There were no vehicles, no lights or indication that anybody had been there in years. Getting out of their vehicles he turned to the others.

"Where is the guy that came to the hotel with the message?"

The others could tell that their boss was angry and the one guy spoke up nervously. "I don't know. He was with us when we left the hotel but I don't see him here now."

Eddie placed his hand on Leone's shoulder. "No one is here, it was a setup."

Leone felt a stabbing pain in his heart as he reached for his phone and dialed Eleonora's number. He had a really bad feeling about this and it became real when her phone went to voicemail.

He looked at Eddie, his eyes showed both fear and anger. "She's not answering. It was her they were after. Everyone, get in your vehicles. We're going back to the hotel." Once in the car, he pounded his fist on the door. "I never should have left her."

"Leone, you must keep your wits about you. If someone has taken her we will find her and kill the bastards."

"If anything happens to her I will never forgive myself. I want that man who came to me found so that he can be punished. I just pray that she's at the hotel and is safe."

"The four men that you had guarding her are not answering their phones."

He turned his head to look at Eddie, he knew then without a doubt that something bad had happened to her. The men he had guarding her were four of the best. There was no way they would let anything happen unless, one of them was working for the person who tricked him into going to the factory.

"One of them must be a traitor, and when I get a hold of him he will regret ever betraying me."

Eddie sat back in his seat, he was also sick with worry about Eleonora. He couldn't help but wonder how stupid they could have been to fall for this trap. But the guy who had come to them was so convincing, but they still should have kept a close eye on him. Like how could somebody just disappear like that without anyone noticing? Whoever was behind this planned it for quite some time, he was certain of that.

They drove like a bat out of hell getting back to the hotel. Once there they tore inside, all getting into the elevator and Leone pushed the button to the top floor. There were no other guests on that floor and as soon as the elevator stopped and they stepped out there was the smell of death in the air. As soon as they got to the honeymoon suite there was some blood on the floor, outside the door. Opening the door they all stepped inside and three out of the four men were laying there dead. It was obvious they were killed outside and dragged inside.

Leone ran to the bedroom and opened it, there was her wedding dress hanging up on the hook of the door but no sign of her.

"She's not here." He looked at William. "Find out what you can about the man who's missing, the fourth guard. Check the security cameras and see what you can find." He points to two of the other men. "You two, search this hotel from top to bottom and get some others to help you look."

Eddie made a few calls and arranged for some of the men that he knew that had worked for him in the past to come help them. After hanging up he went over to Leone. "I've got more help coming, don't worry, we will find her."

"Why go after her if it's me they want?"

Before Eddie could answer a cell phone started ringing and they all looked over on the table. "I've never seen this phone before," Leone said as he went over and picked it up.

Eddie is right beside him. "You better answer it, it could be the kidnappers."

He turned it on and put it on speaker so that the others could hear. "Who is this?"

It doesn't matter who I am Mr. Brambilla. Just keep your trap shut while I do the talking. I have something that belongs to you.

He knew exactly who the guy was talking about. "If you harm a hair on my wife's head I will gut you like a fish."

Now is that anyway for you to talk? You should be nicer to me if you ever want to see your wife alive again. I must say you did very well for yourself. She is really beautiful and this nightgown she's wearing, wow. Too bad you can't see her in it, oh wait, maybe you can. Check the camera on this phone and get back to me. But don't keep me waiting, it's getting really hard for me not to put my hands on her.

Leone's clinched and clicked on the video that was on the phone. He inhaled deeply when he saw the love of his life tied to a chair with duct tape over her mouth. She was terrified as she stared into the camera while struggling to break free. The sound was on and he could hear her whimpering and see the tears running down her eyes.

The fury inside his body was like a raging volcano when he saw a man he didn't recognize go behind her. Placing his hands on her shoulders he leaned down so that they were cheek to cheek and then he spoke.

Your wife is very beautiful, you are a lucky man. Or should I say were?

Leone left the video and swore into the phone. "Don't you fucking hurt her. What is it you want from me?"

Revenge.

He looked at Eddie before answering. "Revenge for what?"

For killing my father.

"Just who the hell is your father?"

Elio Capo, you murdered and tortured him. Now I want to do the same to you. I want you to suffer and feel the pain that my father felt when you ended his life.

"Capo, he killed my father. Your father was a cruel and evil man. He was a rapist who tortured young women and passed them on to other men. He sold them in the market to be sex slaves."

You're a liar, my father was a good man and you butchered him for no reason.

Leone knew there was no use in trying to convince him. "So you want revenge for his death, then kill me but not my wife. She is innocent in all of this. Let her go and I will come to you and you can do whatever you want to me."

The young man on the other end of the line laughed. Oh, I will, but before I end your life I want you to feel the pain of losing someone you love. I want you to watch as your wife takes her last breath.

"Listen you fucker, you won't get a chance to hurt her because I will kill you first."

No, you listen to me. You come to me and make sure you're alone and I promise you I will make her death quick.

"Where are you?"

I know you probably have your phone on speaker so turn it off so that only you will know where you're going. If I see anybody with you I will kill her right away.

Leone turned off the speaker and held the phone to his ear and listened for the directions as to where to go. "I'll be there right away," he said and hung up.

Eddie stepped in front of him. "You can't go on your own. Tell me where he wants you to go and we will follow you. I promise he won't see us, we will be very careful to hide."

"I will not take that chance, so I'm going alone. It's the only way I'll have a chance to save her. You have to trust me on this and don't follow me."

William wasn't having it. "I'm sorry boss, but I can't allow you to go alone. I'm coming with you whether you like it or not."

Leone knew that William wouldn't take no for an answer, so he had to do what was needed to guarantee he wasn't following him.

"Okay, hand me that small pistol on the table."

As soon as William turned around and reached for it Leone hit him over the head with his gun. He fell to the ground unconscious. The others standing around were shocked at what their boss had done, but they kept their mouth shut.

"I'm sorry my friend, I cannot risk it," he said, putting his gun in his holster and looked up at Eddie. "When I'm gone make sure he's okay."

Eddie placed his hands on Leone's shoulders. "He won't be alone so be careful." He then hugged him, slipping something into his pocket. "I know you will bring her back safe. Be careful my friend, try to concentrate on your surroundings and watch your back."

"Thank you, I'll bring her back if it's the last thing I do."

Once he was gone one of the other guys checked William and said he was going to be all right.

"Are we really letting him go alone?" One of the other men asked.

Eddie shook his head. "No, I slipped a tracker into his pocket. We will follow him from a distance, and when he gets there and goes inside we will surround the place and take out whoever is outside and go in after him. I'm not sure what we're going to be up against so gather up as many men as you can."

He knelt down by William as he was just coming to. "You're going to be okay."

William tried to get up but his head was spinning and he felt dizzy. "I've got to go after him."

"You're hurt so you can't, but don't worry the rest of us are going. Now I got to leave but I have somebody coming to check out your injury."

"Damn, my boss could have killed me."

"Oh William, if he really wanted to kill you you'd be dead right now. Now just stay here until help comes, others are on their way to clean up this mess."

He and the other guys piled into some vehicles and followed the tracker. It was a good forty minutes before Eddie noticed it had stopped.

"Okay guys, he's reached his destination so we'll leave the vehicles here and go the rest of the way on foot."

"What if we don't get there in time?"

Eddie looked at the young man. "If I know Leone, and I do he will keep Capo busy talking for a while. I can also guarantee that he knows I won't keep my promise by staying away."

"So what do we do now?"

"Now we make our way towards the house, some will surround the back and front and the rest of us will go inside and take out whoever gets in our way. We have to save Leone and his wife no matter what the cost is. Okay, let's go."

They made their way slowly on foot towards the house, it was Elio Capo's home which was now occupied by his son. It was a very large house and they could be anywhere inside.
