Chapter 25

Macy's P.O.V.

"Didn't I tell you to leave? Get away from her."

"She came up to me, Johnny. Besides, I didn't come back for you. I came back for that beautiful angel you keep hidden here...and there she is," Callum spoke. "I didn't know you were so eager to see me, Macy. I have to say, I do prefer this look."

I felt overly exposed wrapped in a white towel and with my hair still dripping. The fact that Callum was currently in the backyard and trespassing was still processing in my troubled mind so I whistled at Baby and led her inside while Jonathan and Callum stayed outside. As much as I wanted to be out there with them and settle this dispute, it wasn't my battle to fight and Jonathan needed to figure things out for himself. He needed this closure and only he could get it.

Baby wandered off into the kitchen while I went to my room to change. From my window, I could see them in the backyard. It was oddly calm. Jonathan had taken a seat at a picnic table that was placed by the side of the fence, while Callum stood on the grass in his overly arrogant posture.

My mind quickly wandered to what I would wear. It seemed like their conversation would take some time so I figured a walk with Baby might clear my mind. I shook my head. Jonathan might need the company of a friend when he and Callum stop talking.

I changed into black sweatpants, a  white long sleeve, and fuzzy socks to keep me warm as I took refuge on the living room couch and turned my laptop on. Seeing that I haven't talked to him in a while, I called Evan on Skype.

He didn't answer. Instead, he invited me to another skype call where I was greeted by other friends of Jonathan.

"You must be the reason why Delirious hasn't been on as much. Macy, right?"

Ever since I discovered Jonathan's YouTube channel, I had begun watching their videos from time to time and familiarizing myself with the people he played with.

"That's me and you're Marcel, I believe. I've just recently started watching everyone's videos so I might get your names mixed up," I told them.

One by one they introduced themselves and Evan had told me they were just about to play a game of prop hunt. They were just waiting on Delirious.

"He's kind of busy at the moment."

"Well, how about you join us?" Evan suggested. His friends were open to the idea.

"It wouldn't hurt to play one game. Just give me a second to grab my mouse and headset."

And so I ran up the stairs to grab the average equipment I rarely used and went back down, setting my laptop at the kitchen table so I could play better.

It didn't take long for me to join their private game, but it did take quite a while for them to argue on what player model I should choose. In the end, I decided on Blake from RWBY, which none of the guys were familiar with but they liked it. They had even cracked a few jokes while they were arguing and I wondered if they would put that in their next video.

We had maybe played for two hours before they finally finished recording and in that duration, Jonathan was still outside with his brother. I checked on them occasionally and each time they were distant, yet they talked for seemingly ages.

Once I said my goodbyes, I went downstairs to check on them once more. I peeked outside the kitchen window only to see them hugging. Callum was blatantly crying. I hadn't expected to see tears on Jonathan's face as well, but they were there.

I felt a great sense of relief, of joy. This meant a lot to Jonathan. His brother was still an immense part of his life and there was nothing else that made me feel better than to see him happy.

"If you guys are finished, I can go make some muffins while you two plan in he living room," I said, opening the back door.

Jonathan quickly wiped away his tears, avoiding my eyes in embarrassment. "We'll be right there, Macy."

I gave him a reassuring smile before going inside to start the chocolate muffins. Baby was by the dining table, watching me in curiosity as I took out each of the ingredients.

I hummed to myself as I waited for Callum and Jonathan to come in. When they did, I noticed the difference. Callum disregarded his arrogant attitude for the time being and Jonathan seemed a bit distant, but happy nonetheless.

While Callum went upstairs to the restroom, Jonathan joined me in the kitchen.

I was by the sink when he came behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and burying his face near my neck. The feel of his breath tickled my skin.

"You're not usually this...physical. Happy?"

"More than," Jonathan replied. "It's obviously not the same as it was, but we're going to get there. I just know it."

Jonathan was hopeful.

"I like this side of you."

"The one that gives you attention?" He asked with a laugh.

"The one that's happy," I turned around and moved a strand of his hair away from his face. "Now help me get the eggs from the fridge, will you?"

Jonathan backed away with a roll of his eyes. "Way to ruin the moment."

"There was a moment?"

"Obviously."

"Sucks for you then," I shrugged, giving him another smile.
