Hiccup shut the book, irritated.
Again the same useless information that gave him no answer for his problem. He placed the book back on the shelf and left the library. After he double checked that his sleeve covered his arm, he set out for the school exit. He hadn't gone far when...

"Ugh what a nightmare!" Jack said as he jumped Hiccup from behind.

"What is?"

Jack shuddered "Math."(I feel ya bro)

Hiccup laughed as Jack told a terrifying (and rather exaggerated) story of the feared math teacher
Mr. Bunny.

"I'm serious Hiccup! That kangaroo is out to get me!!" Jack huffed, Hiccup just rolled his eyes.

" I don't know maybe he hates you because you told Miss. Tooth that he was in a relationship with Miss. Maudie."

"Is it bad I'm a sucker for drama?"

"Or the time you dyed his beard orange and his skin blue."

Jack laughed,"Oh the look on his face!" he screwed up his face, mimicking the teachers furious scowl,"Worth it."

"Yeah two weeks of detention for 'association'...Worth it." Hiccup mumbled sarcastically, still sore over the incident.

"Alright mister I have never been in detention before in my entire life, how do you get me into these kinds of messes? I hate you so much right now Jack. If I don't get into Yale, there won't be a body to find." Jack replied mocking him (not the least bit sorry),"Anyways were you in the library again?."

Hiccup just nodded, again pulling his sleeve down.

"Find anything?"

Silence.

"Don't worry so much! I'm sure there's an explanati...

Hiccup gave him a look.

"Ok ok I know that it's never happened before to anyone...well ever, but there's gotta be some reason for it."

Hiccup sighed looking to the floor.

"I've read almost every book in that library about Soulmates and Marks Jack. I've spent days researching and found nothing for this!"

Hiccup rolled up his sleeve to reveal his Mark, only it was changing...

"Times running out and I still don't know how the heck I'm gonna know who it's counting down to." Hiccup shoved his sleeve down and continued walking forward.

Now it was Jack who was silent.

"Sorry Jack... I'm just really stressed out right now."

"Don't sweat it, but I gotta say at least you have some idea of when you two will meet, I'm flying blind here."

As the duo exited the front doors a shout from behind distracted them. A girl was racing through the crowded hallway, vibrant red hair streamed out behind her. She was dodging and spinning so easily around people that it looked like a dance. Hiccup was amazed at how easily the girl slipped between people, going full speed. He was so distracted by the girl that he didnt notice his Mark....

"OOOF!!!!"

Hiccup groaned opening his eyes, and his heart stopped. Two beautiful sky blue eyes stared back at him, framed by curly red hair...then they were gone. She bolted up off of Hiccup and took off again calling over her shoulder as she leaped over the stairs.

"I'm so sorry!!! Didn't see you there! Gotta go,sorry if you see a girl with blue eyes, white hair, covered in cake you didn't see me. SORRY!"

Then she was gone, streaking around the corner and disappearing from sight. Jack gave Hiccup a hand up "Oh my gosh Hiccup did you se-"

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU BUGGER!!!!"

Yet again Hiccup found himself on the ground, as another girl burst through the doors. She looked around quickly then turned to the two boys staring dumbfounded at her.

"Where. Did. That. Punk. Go?"

"Y...you....m...what?...said.....she.."Jack sputtered, staring at the girl.

"Ugh she's not getting away this time!!" The girl sprinted away through the crowd.

"Wait!! Wait Come Back!!!!"

"Why Jack what's wrong?"

"Dude look at your arm!"

"My arm?" Hiccup pulled up his sleeve, there glinting in the sunlight was Hiccups mark... and it was gold.

Hiccup stared at his arm, then at Jack who looked at his arm. The words "I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU BUGGER!!!!" Were in gold as well.

"Funny I thought that was gonna happen a lot differently...." Jack wondered.

The two boys took one look at each other...

Then ran after their Soulmates.
