But here I was, in the exact same situation

If you told me yesterday I would be in a room with my long lost best friend. I would've laughed.
But I here I was, in the exact same situation.

Annabeth.....I couldn't describe her. She was always pretty, but she was seriously beautiful right now. Even in a simple gray top she looked stunning. Her blonde hair swept over her shoulders. Her storm-gray eyes as dazzling as ever. Her...focus.

"You should get Tyson over! I'm sure he would love this place" Annabeth said after a while.

I nodded, "sure, I'll bring him over tomorrow"

She gave me huge smile, that made me wanna jump up and down. What was wrong with me ?

I always felt like I lost a huge part of me ever since Annabeth left. Now....I couldn't describe exactly how I was feeling.

Obviously I felt great meeting Annabeth again, but it had been a long time....could things ever go back to the way they were once?

"Wana go re join the group?" Annabeth asked.

I nodded and she led me out of her little baking corner. She gave me a quick tour of the stores layout while I munched my cookie.

"How do you guys know each other?" I asked as we reached the table. I sat down on one of the spare chairs while Annabeth stood behind me.

"That's a funny story" she said with a smile. I loved the way she smiled. Her eyes seemed to light up.

"If I may" Leo procalained, tilting an imaginary hat. Annabeth nodded.

"Twas a cold winter afternoon night-" he began.

Piper swatted him, "Leoooo" she groaned.

"Alright alright sheesh" he rolled his eyes.

" most of us became friends in our freshman year and discovered this place. One day I was working out some horrible maths homework and wasn't able to solve that despicable sum"

"It wasn't that hard" Reyna rolled her eyes.

"Yeah well no one was helping me with it!" Leo said. "So I kinda sort of said the question out loud"

"He screamed the question out and somehow managed to set his notebook on fire" Piper corrected.

Leo shrugged, "potato potato. Anyway smarty pants here" he paused and pointed to Annabeth, "shouted the answer back after I said it"

"And I learnt an important lesson" Annabeth smirked. "No more decorating tables with candles"

"And we thought she was awesome and adopted her into our gang. Jason already knew her apparently" Leo said.

Jason nodded, "My sister Thalia, Annabeth and Luke ran away together" he shrugged.

I looked at Annabeth. I knew this story. After they ran away, they found Grover one dark and stormy night

. He knew Chiron and decided to spend the night at CHB and took them with him. Chiron called their parents and explained the situation. But these three agreed to go back under the condition that they join the summer camp. That was the same year I joined.

"Dam" that was all I managed to say.  Piper smirked. Actually everyone did. I felt my face turned, but luckily a sweet old couple chose that moment to walk through the door.

"Work calls," Annabeth said with a tightlipped smile. I watched as she greeted the couple.

I decided to do my homework. Groan. Like everyone else at the table. What goodie little two shoes they are.
I fished out two pre calc papers from my bag.

I groaned, "whyyyy", banging my head against the table. I sucked at math.

Piper laughed, an evil expression suddenly taking over he face. "Annabeth can help you with that"

"Help him with what?" she said, emerging from who knows where.

"pre-calc" Piper explained. Annabeth nodded, turning to me. "I can help with that"

"Er....great" I munbled. I internally punched myself in the face.

She smirked and took the seat next to me, sweeping her hair to one side. Looking at my paper, she seemed to be figuring it out.

"So" she said, turning towards me. Annabeth explained the process to me. I tried my best to follow along, it was quite easy. She managed to make it interesting for, relating to things which I generally liked. And the occasional bribing with cookies.

Her voice was easy to follow, it was soothing. I felt myself being pulled into her stormy gray eyes everytime she turned to me.
Sadly, we were done in no time.
(With a couple breaks for the occasional customer)

"Thanks" I grinned, stuffing my papers into my bag. She nodded.

"Any time Percy" she smiled. My heart seemed to skip a beat for reasons unknown to me.

Okay...truth time.
I used to have a crush on Annabeth, and I was going to tell her that.

But one particular summer, I arrived at her house to tell her just that. But a woman who I'd never seen before, simply stated she'd been sent off to boarding school.

And I hadn't seen her in years. Not in camp, or even in general. It's like she disappeared.

For years all I wanted to do was find her, ask her why she left me or atleast have her tell me the truth
. Mom was in an abusive relationship, and the only person I trusted with this information at that time was Annabeth.

After she left, it's like a part of me was gone. The person I cared about more than myself, the one I told everything to, my best friend was gone.

But now, watching her laugh. The way her eyes lit up. The way she moved gracefully. The way she carried herself.
Heck, I should've been mad at her. Yet all I could do was be happy to see her again.

And I sure as Hell wasn't ever going to let her go again.
