A/N This is a poem I wrote for school and one I am using for a poetry slam tomorrow, so yeah. And also, no, I'm not depressed, I just imagined the worst thing in the world happening and used that. So don't be worried about my sanity. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy this poem!

Despair watches a loved one die,
Bloodshot and puffy-eyed,
She sobs herself to sleep,
Always crying through the night

Despair crumbles the world around you,
Torn and broken,
Tearing you apart at the seams,
Forcing you to collapse to the ground

Despair beats up your mind,
Black and blue,
Like bruises on your heart,
Constantly bringing you down,

Despair reaches to grab the top of the pit,
Tired and hurt,
But misses and plummets,
Until she hits rock bottom

Despair curls up into a ball of pain,
Cracked and crumbling,
Deep, scraggly notches in her heart,
Slowly snapping sanity

Despair let's out a lonely cry that pierces the night,
Pained and aching,
But nobody can help,
And take away the sorrow that will never leave
