Hello, everybody! Chances are, you've read, seen, or at least heard of a "Demigods go to Highschool" fanfic. While the idea of writing one may seem enticing, I implore you not to. Here's my reasons!

1. IT'S OVERUSED

This speaks for itself. We need new ideas, amazing reads, awesome writers! Not old ideas that I've read a million times!

2. COPYRIGHT

I mean, you're writing a fanfic, so you don't care for copyright already, but, still, listen. If any of your haters, (or bored people) wants to get your book taken down, it's easy! Let's pretend they ignore the major copyright. (Writing, using someone else's work, is illegal.)

(However, fair use will normally tip into your favor if you're not selling it.) 

All they have to do is say "AmaZHaNG101 already wrote this! They're stealing her idea!" and, zip, zop, they get their friends to do that to, and, boom! Your book has now been taken down, due to copyright infringement.

3. IT STOPS THE CIRCLE OF NEW FANFICS

If I see my original idea raking in 10 reads, while Amazhang145's cliche Chaos Story already has 5,000, what am I going to do? Yes, there are people who will keep up with their original idea, but others will flock to the fame. 

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...

The plot doesn't make sense. Last time I checked, half of those demigods are missing, or being chased by social services. I have no idea why they would go to a high school, where you'd need to give your full name and register with real identification. 

Sending them to a highschool would be a reckless idea. 

BEFORE YOU SAY IT...

Yes, I thought about the Mist, but that won't work. Here's why: The Mist covers up things mortals don't understand. Godly powers, demigod shenanigans, they're all covered by the mist. But there's nothing magical about a missing child whose presumed dead. Sorry, but that won't work.
