This water spirit usually appears in the form of a horse, though in some folklore it is able to appear as a man or woman. It inhabits the lochs and ponds of Scotland. It is said to be mischievous but rarely dangerous to humans. The way to tell them apart from a horse is looking at their hooves (They are backwards).
