DAN
I crossed the room, over to where Pj was sat at his desk, drawing aliens on the back of his hand in black ink. I stood there for a while, waiting for him to notice me, but he seemed to caught up in his current task; so I tapped the top of his head lightly. He flinched significantly at my touch, snapping his head up quickly to look at me.
"Pj?" I asked him "are you bored?"
He clicked the end of his pen quickly "have been forever, Danny boy. "
"Then do you think we could go visit Phil? I'd like to try something." I asked quietly
He smirked, leaning forwards, Lacing his fingers and resting his chin on top. "A plan of sorts?"
"Yeah, I guess." I replied, shifting my weight from one foot to the other, waiting for his response.
"I do love a plan, especially when they go wrong... I suppose we can go now. But you're getting me in trouble I hope you know." He sighed as he stood up, cracking his spine loudly.
"I thought you said you weren't one for rules?" I asked and watched as his eyes glinted evily.
He grabbed my wrist. "Let's just go."
The familiar sick sensation of teleportation filled my stomach for a few moments before my feet hit the floor in the middle of my old living room. I looked around and noticed Phil sat on the sofa, a blanket around him, shivering slightly and eating a pot noodle. I checked the thermostat, it was 20°, why was he shivering?
I realized he was watching anime on the TV, it was Haikyuu!!, I guess the new season came out, and I guess I'll never get to watch it.
Remembering why I was there, I turned to PJ. "You said the past can't be tempered with, but what about the present?" I asked him, arching an eyebrow.
"..Dan. ." He mumbled "we really really should not do that."
"But if it's possible I just want him to let him know I'm here" I gave Pj a pleading look, hoping he'd allow me to try and talk to Phil.
"Do as you wish. I'm going somewhere else quickly, you have 5 minutes." He said before clicking his fingers and vanishing into thin air.
"Okay.. Five minutes, I can do that" I muttered to myself whilst looking down at Phil.
After 3 minutes of unfruitful attempts, I sat on the floor In front of him, realising it was probably impossible.
I suddenly got an idea, sitting up onto my knees so he could he me as clearly as he could, "PHIL" I shouted as loud as possible.
Phil's eyes unfocused on the TV and straight onto me "Dan?!" He asked, shocked. He stood up quickly his blanket falling to his knees and his now empty pot noodle tumbling to the floor, spilling the last bits of water onto the wooden floor.
He looked around, bewildered, "Dan? DAN!" He shouted, looking all around the livingroom "where did you go?"
He threw himself back down onto the sofa, burying his head in a pillow, shoulders shaking "...Dan, I could've sworn I saw you" he whispered to him self.
"Phil, I'm here, I'm here, I-" I cut myself off, what was I about to say?
I placed my hand on his black hair, stroking it softly, I noticed his hair actually moved so I knew he could at least feel my presence.
"..Dan? What's happening to me?" He asked but it seemed more like he was asking himself.
As I looked at him, laying face down on the sofa, crying slightly. I came to terms with it. I remembered all our time together, our lives, our youtube fame, our radio station, Dil, everything and above all, how he could make me happy more than any other person I'd ever met. And I knew.
"I- I think I love you Phil" I whispered in his ear.
I stood up, trailing my hand from his head and across his shoulder until it hung loosely by my side. Looking down at him sadly; I'd never get to actually talk to him again.
I noticed a presence next to me and turned just in time to see Pj arrive back.
"Where did you go?" I asked him curiously.
He looked down at his trainers "..It- it doesn't matter." he said defensively, sparking my curiosity, but, he looked a bit sensitive so I decided to not push it further.
He put out his hand and I took it, looking to Phil as I was teleported back to the prison I was stuck in; The Half-Way Room.
Once we'd Pj arrived, looked at me sternly, walking up way too close to me and whispering something in my ear before teleporting himself out of the room.
"The dead should not mess with the affairs of the living, Dan. You might have just made things worse."
