Three kingdoms exist within the fantastical world of Arianrod: the human kingdom, the elven kingdom, and the dwarf kingdom. Though rivalries occur between the three kingdoms, the last war waged ended a thousand years ago, so peace has been enjoyed by all the races. Whilst the elven kingdom produces and sells fine silks and hand crafted musical instruments, the human kingdom produces and sells rich liquors and various meats, whilst the dwarf kingdom produces and sells precious jewels and armour.
Spawn from both human and elf, emerge the dark elves, who share some of the features known to an elf, yet possess darker, rougher skin, hence their unsavoury name. Due to their assumed impurity, the dark elves have been cast away from the elven society and, angered, the majority had gathered, vowing revenge against the elven kingdom. They seek the book of chaotic black magic.
However, the book is hidden, and has been hidden for many many thousands of years, guarded by a dragon within a cave whose whereabouts are unknown to most. The dragon has been told to kill anyone who even sets foot within the cave, accidentally or purposefully.
Now, there is a race to claim the book. Whilst the dark elves want it in order to extract their revenge, the elven kingdom wants it in order to preserve peace, the human kingdom wants it out of greed and ambition, whilst the dwarf kingdom wants it out of morbid curiosity.
