Naru is INJURED and his girlfriend comes to save him.

PK Healer, Physic Girlfriend
---

Five days had passed since Naru accepted a case. A middle-aged man had been begging for his help, almost crying as he made claim after claim about the spirits in his house, but the case was turning out to be a trying one. Naru was beginning to worry, internally, for everyone's safety, and he was starting to wonder if his assistant Mai Taniyama should've stayed at the office.

No, he thought to himself. It's better if she's here.

He watched the video recordings from the previous night with Koujo Lin, this easily being the most trying task as a ghost hunter. Externally he was neutral, but in his mind, he was tearing his hair out. During the night, the only exciting thing that happened was Mai constantly shifting in her sleep.

"The spirit was quiet overnight," he thought out loud, prompting Lin to quickly grab a pen and take note. "Something's not right about this."

Houshou Takigawa, who'd appeared sometime after the sun rose, perked up at this. "Care to elaborate, Naru?"

It was Lin who answered this time, his lengthy speech shocking everyone aside from Naru. He was usually quiet, but he said, "Naru's right. The spirit showed no hesitation when we arrived and almost immediately began to lower the temperature in some of the rooms." The others eyes widened in realisation at this.

"That's true," Ayako Matsuzaki commented, puzzled.

It was John Brown's turn to speak as he clutched his rosary. "The spirit is powerful, we know that already, but why is it suddenly hiding?"

Mai gulped, looking at each of her companions nervous faces in turn. Even Naru seemed to have a small hint of worry in his eyes. They couldn't ask the medium Masako Hara for help - when she stepped in the house, the spirit immediately began to attack her, but she was perfectly safe after leaving the grounds.

"It seems we're going to need her help, Lin," said Naru cryptically, confusing everyone except for his tall partner. "Call her immediately. I'm going to have a discussion with Mr Fujioka." Something in his tone made it seem like he wasn't very happy about this "her."

No one knew what to say as the teenage ghost hunter left the room, clearly irritated beyond comprehension. "I've never seen Naru look so pissed off!"

"No kidding," Mai said. "I spend nearly every day with the guy and, yeah, he's a bit of a grouch, but he's never been this mad before."

John, who'd had a minute to think over the situation, piped up. "I think this case is turning out to be more serious than we first thought." At everyone's questioning looks, he added, "He's never called in this girl before, not even during the Urado case."

Everyone shivered at the mention of that horrific demon, but Monk finally understood what the young priest was saying. "Actually, now that I think about it, that's true!"

Mai frowned. Who was this girl? And why was Naru so annoyed about bringing her here?

The discussion continued as everyone came up with wild theories about this "her" Naru was talking about, but Lin eventually shushed them. He picked up this phone and everyone began to listen eagerly, wanting to hear this girl's voice.

"Hey, Koujo!" cried an enthusiastic girl. She sounded young, but Mai was too busy blushing over the use of Lin's first name. "What's going on, my tall friend?" Lin, as stoic as ever, quickly told her about the case, specifically detailing the few minutes with Masako. "I see, when and where?"

"Immediately, at this address," Lin said.

From somewhere in the house, there was a strangled scream that sounded eerily like Naru. Everyone rushed out of the room, sprinting down the hallway and checking every room, trying to find the source.

Suddenly, the group came upon a gruesome sight. In the living room, Mr Fujioka was unconscious on the floor, but apparently well. The blood all over the floor was nauseating and they all began to search the huge room (apart from Lin, who stayed with Mr Fujioka) for something the blood could've come from.

When Mr Fujioka came to, Lin asked him what happened.

"I'm not sure! I was talking with Shibuya just a minute ago when I was thrown across the room! Before I blacked out, I saw something black fly by me and I heard a scream!" Mai gasped.

Lin frowned. Where was...?

There was a whisper. Barely audible, but it was there, and it was clearly Naru's voice. "Lin," he said. Moments after that, a drop of blood fell onto Lin's forehead from the ceiling. His eyes widened, realising exactly where his partner disappeared to.

Mai screamed when they all looked up.

Suspended upside down in the air above their head was Naru. He was deathly pale and his eyes were dripping blood, but what terrified everyone the most were the huge gashes on his chest that were caused by the spirit.

Monk immediately began to chant, allowing Naru to drop from his place in the air and straight down onto Lin, who somehow caught him.
-

A few hours later, a nice car pulled up to the house. Mai had been waiting at the window in anticipation to see this girl, hoping she wasn't pretty enough to catch Naru's eye because, by the sound of it, this girl knew the two SPR members quite well.

You shouldn't be thinking about that right now, she scolded. Naru's been hurt! Mai looked back, seeing Naru lying on the couch, unconscious with his head propped on Lin's lap. As upset as she was, she couldn't help but notice how handsome he still looked despite his injuries.

Remembering the car, she grimly told everyone, "She's here."

John went to greet her, leaving his blessed rosary with Naru in case the spirit came back. Lin acknowledged him with a small nod while he wiped Naru's sweaty brow.

(Y/N) (Y/L/N) looked up at the large family home, immediately sensing a darkness about the place. No wonder Naru needed her help. The entire house was emitting an evil, almost demonic aura.

The boy who came out to meet her was a small, blond priest. She frowned. Usually, it was Naru who came out to see her. At the sight of his bloodied robes and fearful face, she knew something was wrong and pushed past him without a word, hurrying into the home.

Pausing for a moment to catch her breath, she assessed her surroundings. Everything was blurry and her vision was spinning, but she forced herself to put up with it as she tried to sense Naru's very familiar aura.

There! It was faint, but still there.

"What happened," she asked, hurrying in the direction of Naru.

Her question was answered when she found him. The base was set up as it always was on cases, but there was a huge difference. She caught sight of Naru, unconscious and pale, and ran to his side, dropping to her knees beside the couch.

"(Y/N)," Lin greeted.

Immediately after examining his injuries, the young girl turns to everyone in the room. "Everyone, I know we've just met, but I must ask for your consent."

"Consent for what?" Mai asked, tilting her head to the side.

The girl sighed. "I can heal Naru, but to do so successfully I must draw energy from everyone in the room. I need verbal consent to do this."

They all immediately agreed, too concerned for their boss to care. (Y/N) thanked them with a small smile before becoming silent, slowly raising her hands and making strange motions with them. Mai began to feel the effects instantly, feeling like she was exhausted, feeling like she was being drained.

(Y/N), who was quite literally surrounded in a glowing light, told Lin to hold Naru down. "I am sorry, dearest Naru, but this is going to hurt." She gently pressed her palms down onto his abdomen and he began to writhe, his eyes shooting open as he shook and screamed.

"STOP IT!" Mai shouted. "YOU'RE JUST HURTING HIM MORE!"

Lin was struggling, desperately trying to hold down Naru. "Monk, hold her back," he instructed loudly. The man did so, mesmerised by the horrifying sight before him. Mai crumpled into his arms, crying as she watched Naru's skin stitching itself back together.

"Gahhhh!" he cried, completely awake and aware of what was happening. "Eugene! Eugene! Help me, Gene!" he kept calling in English, bringing tears to (Y/N)'s eyes.

Moments later, it all stopped. He slumped, falling off the couch and panting heavily. (Y/N) carefully swept his hair out of his eyes, relieved that she helped him without too much trouble before she suddenly collapsed.
-

After that, the case was closed fairly quickly, though everyone was eager to figure out what the hell happened with this girl and Naru.

"Basically," she said while they were packing away Naru's equipment, "I have a very specific form of PK-LT." This shocked everyone except for, of course, Naru and Lin, who simply smirked. "With consent, I can draw energy from other people to heal."

She stood beside Naru, partially leaning on him, still exhausted from healing him. He stood beside her with his arm wrapped around her waist, which angered Mai and Masako (the medium offered to come out after learning of Naru's injuries).

Hoisting a heavy monitor into his arms, Lin added, "Naru's known her since he was a child."

"What?!"

"You've got to be kidding me!"

(Y/N) laughed, deliberately leaning into Naru even more as she said, "Yes, my parents absolutely adored him. He was the only person other than them that believed in my abilities." Masako glared at her. Mai was red in the face and steam was pouring out of her ears.

Monk smiled. "You know, that's pretty cute!"

Ayako was quick to butt in, smirking as she asked, "So what's your relationship to Naru?"

She glanced up at Naru, silently asking permission to tell everyone. He nodded, a smile that Mai only saw in her dreams on his face. "Oh, it's no biggie. I'm just his girlfriend."

Mai dropped her glass of water. "What?!"

"I know!" (Y/N) cried out. "He's such a naughty boy for not telling poor Ayako over here that he was taken!" She lightly smacked his shoulder and he rolled his eyes. "Apparently he's been on a few "dates" with Masako too! I guess I'll have to punish him later." She winked and Mai nearly fainted.

Poor John, who was silently watching the whole ordeal, blushed at that, sending (Y/N) straight into a laughing fit that lasted minutes. Suddenly, Naru kissed her, causing everyone (except, once again, for Lin) to scream.

"Shut up," he said to her. "Your laugh is so annoying."

---

Completely different to how I planned it, but I've always wanted to see injured Naru!
