TBC: Chapter One
Dr. Nicca James Alfarone
"Does that mean your dick will shrivel up now?"
I narrowed my eyes up at the person who said that and gave them my meanest glare.
"No, you dumb ass!" I hissed at the blonde-haired man who all but threw his head back and I clutched the birthday cupcake in my head. "Even if it did, I would still get more guys than you and I'm not even gay." I retorted, laughing internally at the look of disdain that crossed his face.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is my best friend even if I wish we weren't sometimes, Jose Grazi. He was taller than me at 6'1 and he had the most beautiful long blonde hair that sat on his shoulders and he was the epitome of masculine, besides the fact that he was gay and in need of a boyfriend.
"That's hurtful, Nicca." He pouted and I fought the urge to slap him across his face. Scoffing, I turned away from him. "What are we doing tonight?" I asked, knowing that he was going to want to spend my twenty-nine birthday with me. "Well, to celebrate my best friend entering his prime age," He stifled a laugh and I sighed. "We are going to the club. See if you can find you a nice girl and I can find me a nice, beautiful man." He gushed and I looked at him like he was stupid.
"You have problems that you need to get checked out by a doctor." I nodded affirmatively and he chuckled. "Then why don't you check me out, my sweet doctor?" He batted his eyelashes at me and I scowled. "Even if I was gay, I still wouldn't touch you with a 10 foot pole, you twat." I cackled and Jose folded his arms. I picked up my clipboard, placing my cupcake on the counter behind me.
"Dr. Alfarone!" I piped up from looking at my clipboard to see who was calling my name in such a irritating voice.
It was Mara, one of my nurses who couldn't stand me and I quite frankly, wanted to fire her. But I couldn't because she was one of the best nurses and it would look bad on my part. "What?" I replied in a monotonous voice as her eyes widened. "You're needed in room 143." She rolled her eyes and I fought the urge to flip her off.
But instead like the awesome person I was, I clasped the clipboard tightly to my side and bid my farewell to Jose. "Until tonight, gay man." I saluted. "Until tonight, shriveled penis." He saluted back before walking off and I made my way down the hall to the patient that needed me.
When I reached the room, I knocked on the door twice, grabbing the patient information file out of the bin on the door. "Come in." I heard a deep, gruff voice and I turned the knob, pushing in. I entered the room with a smile, closing the door.
"I'm Dr. A. How are you doing today?" I grinned and I shook the man's hand. "I'm Steve Bardlow and I'm doing fine. How about yourself?" The man replied and I got a good look at him. He was tall with brown hair and blue eyes. He wasn't bad looking. Maybe I should hook him up with Jose.
"I'm alright." I nodded, getting into doctor mode. "So here it says you have a common case of epilepsy along with something new: giardiasis." I said. "Does it hurt much?" I asked and Steve shook his head. "No but I do occasionally throw up and I find it hard to push out because I feel so full and it makes me uncomfortable." He stated and I nodded in response. "Okay, can you lie back for me on the bed and lift up your shirt halfway?" I questioned and he began to lean back. I walked over to the sink and washed my hands, drying them with a wipe and slipping on some latex gloves.
I walked over to the side of the bed and placed my hands on his stomach. "I'm going to push down. Tell me if it hurts." I demanded and I began to push down on random places. "Ow!" He groaned when I pressed down on the colon. "Right there." He hissed and I began to press down even harder, looking for signs of damage.
"Okay," I said out loud, taking my gloves off and throwing them away, slipping on hand sanitizer. "I will prescribe you a bottle of tinidazole and this pill should be taken once with food and water daily." I started to write it down on a piece of prescription paper. "Preferably nightly." I ripped off the paper and handed it to the man. "Here you go. You're all set for today. Any questions?" I grinned.
"Yeah, one. What's your number?" He asked with a smirk and I smirked back. "I'd give it you but I'm afraid I don't swing that way." I clicked my teeth together and the man sighed in sadness. "Aw, well it was still nice to try." He smiled at me and I shook his hand in a farewell. "It's all good, Mr. Bardlow." I chuckled.
"Call me Steve." He said. "You'll see me again."

"So son, when are you going to find someone and settle down?" My father asked with a raise of his eyebrows. "Time is ticking." He sighed and I rolled my eyes. "I didn't realize it was such an important deal for me to get married." I groaned.
"It is because you are the only heir to the Royal Alfarone family." He stated. "So am I going to be king or something?" I asked, not understanding what he meant. "No. The power that I have in this world is unexplainable. For generations, fathers have passed down a title to their sons, thus continuing the traditions and the transfer of the powers. You will gain a stance in this world."
"We are not kings. We have stopped being kings along time ago because our royal family was being murdered one by one for their power and the money they had." My father Nicolai Alfarone the 2nd murmured as he sighed. "It won't be too long before I get too old. I want to do this now that way I can be sure nothing won't happen to you." He whispered. "Our family is powerful, Nicca. It didn't help that I married your mother who just happened to be a princess." He looked over to my mother, Marica Alfarone, and looked at the royal crest on her necklace.
"Our royalty is so high, we had to give up the throne." She stated, running a hand through her brown hair and I was confused. "So we aren't kings or queens or princes or anything like that." I clarified and they nodded. "That's correct." I raised a brow. "So then what are you talking about?" I asked.
"We're something short of a royal family and I don't think it can be explained further. We have royalty to the extent that we are victims of murder because of it." My dad whispered. "That's why we need you to be careful, Nicca." My father stared me deep into my eyes and I furrowed my eyebrows, wondering why he was making such a big deal out of something small.
"Be careful who you trust, Nicca. If they find out that you are a Sir that has been inherited for many generations from father to son, there is no telling how many people will turn on you and become your enemy. It's like you have a bounty on your head and they can kill you to get money." My father sighed. "It's how my father was killed."
I nodded affirmatively, not understanding why I had to be careful because of something I didn't ask for but nonetheless, I kept quiet and hoped that this discussion was over with because I had a prior engagement to attend to.
"Is that it?" I asked, wanting to leave. I was turning twenty-nine and yet my parents felt the need to baby me.
"Yes." My father let me go with a nod and I got up, heading for the door. "Oh, and Nicca?" I heard my mother's melodious voice. "Happy birthday, sweetie. Don't go crazy now." She warned and I grinned like a maniac. "I'll try not to."

"It's time to party, bitches!" I rolled my eyes as Jose's overzealous ass began waltzing into Limelight, the best nightclub here in North Carolina. It was packed with a lot of people, the music sounding of older songs like Red Nose or Drunk in Love.
I smiled at him as I walked over to the bar, flashing my ID at the pretty bartender. "Cadie, I would like my usual." She raised a brow at me, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder. "Oi, happy birthday, Nicca. For you, it's on the house." She winked at me as she shook up my drink contents in a container before tossing it into a cup and sliding it my way. "The Blue M'Fer, at is finest." I licked my lips and began to down the drink, hissing at the Citron vodka that burned my throat along with the blue caracao liquer. It was dulled by the sweet and sour mix.
Delicious.
When I was done, I was feeling buzzed, but yet and still, I ordered another one. Tonight was the time of my life and I was going to live it up with my best friend, wherever he was and whomever he was with.
By the end of my third drink, I was happy. I was climbing the clouds and I was standing on top of the world. "JOSE!" I slurred, sliding my way past the people on the dancefloor to that familiar blond hair. He snapped his head up at the sound of his name and reached for me, grabbing my hand. "Damn, Nicca! You're pissed. How many did you have?" He questioned, dancing to Rihanna's Work. I held up as many fingers as I could, forgetting who I was and where I was. I grabbed onto his shoulders and began to dance with against the beat.
Through my cloudy eyes, I could see that my best friend was rather occupied with someone else as they pulled him back into their chest. Maybe he would finally get laid and stop being so pissy. I chuckled at my thoughts and began to sway to the beat, shaking my hips on the hair.
When you a gon' learn, learn, learn, learn, learn.
I started to dance, letting it all out as I grabbed Jose's hand to steady me because I was starting to see black dots canvas my vision and I was feeling a bit dizzy. Maybe I had too much to drink but who cares? I was going to live it up, no matter what. I was a single pringle and I was getting to be too old and just a little while, I was going to end up alone and bitter so I wanted to live it up while I could and hope for the best.
Then suddenly as the beat dropped and I let go of Jose's hand, sweat pouring down the side of face from the heat of how many people were pressing against me in this occupied space, I felt hands slide their way around me, encasing me against a hard body and I began to panic, turning around.
I looked up from the arms that had wrapped around my waist and stared up through blurry eyes and a sultry grin to recognize a little bit of the features of the person who was holding me. Their crystal blue eyes and their choppy brown hair on top of their head and their tanned skin, my eyes widened in realization at the man who smirked down at me.
"I told you, you would see me again." He chuckled and I fell into the trap he had set for me.
-This was just the first chapter to see into Nicca's life. More will be set soon.
