The Bluetooth Connection to Nature??
I sit looking out.
At what, one might ask.
My answer would be 'nothing'. Nothing in particular. I'm just taking in nature...
All that nature is, all its beauty.
A bird perches on the railing and looks around inquisitively. It looks at me as if asking me, "How are you??"
I nod at it and it moves its beak up and down as if nodding.
Then it flies off and forages in the foliage before flying elsewhere, probably to ask someone else how they are.
Maybe it's also an employee of the resort, not unlike the person who called and asked if the room was comfortable. This lone bird, on the 'Greeting Customers' committee!!
Now wondering where the bird went, I look around to see more of the same sort. Well, maybe it saw its friends and flew to greet them...
I wonder if they'll be back to enquire about me and for me to admire them.
Seeing the birds reminds me of how there's something about nature that is so refreshing, something that infuses energy, something that makes you appreciate the sheer beauty of even the smallest of small things.
Like the graceful way butterflies flit from flower to flower.
Like the gentle way blades of grass sway in the light breeze.
That beautiful shade of green, and how it compares with other shades.
That sweet lilting cool breeze itself.
The way climbers slowly and steadily entwine around their support, and reach out upwards as if to touch the sky.
The sweet smell of rain falling on dry soil (i.e., petrichor).
The intricate designs spiders build into their webs.
The beautiful and seemingly simple way in which birds flap their wings up and down, up, down in a lulling manner...
Just sit back silently and listen.
To the enchanting unadulterated sounds of nature.
To the calm simple sounds that take one back to nature.
One can, to put it quite simply, simply get lost in nature.
But then, one wouldn't have lost anything. One would just find themselves when they reconnect with nature.
To reconnect with nature, one doesn't need any USB ports, AUX cables or Bluetooth.
One just needs patience and needs to want to connect with nature to do so.
So just set aside all the technology for a while. Just a little while.
Do this and see how far you can go into the beckoning arms of nature. I reckon that this can be quite far with just a little push in the right direction.
Next time you go on a trek (or anywhere in nature) quit complaining about lack of service.
Instead, just take in all you can. You'll be surprised how much you thought you knew but actually didn't.
There is so much one can learn from nature.
One just needs to know to look, not where to look. A little push to start searching...
One doesn't even need to go too far.
Take one step at a time, and, before you know it, you will already be far forward on the path to, shall we call it, the 'green' tooth connection to nature??
