Earth wasn't a perfect place to spend your time waiting for the deadline of your life. It was a toxic place. Would only suck all of your remaining energy, leaving you with dryness. The dryness that would slowly kill you in an extremely sadistic, painful, and unbearable torment.

The scorching heat of the sun gave you the power that made you feel like the king of the world, but it also made your enemies out there immune to your weapons.

Rain gave you a break from running and hiding from those hungry creatures that haunted and hit you all the time. They didn't like water on their bodies because it gave them pain. And you felt at ease because of that.

But then what? When the fact revealed that the rain also made you sluggish. It was... futile, wasn't it?

When you thought that you earned one, on the other side, they followed your lead. When you thought that those who bothered you fell dead into the abyss, there you were, mired with them.

Everything was like a vicious circle that never reached an end. It only rotated and kept on back to the starting point, waiting for you all to run out of energy and lay sprawled miserably.

Rain, snow, sun, wind, even storm, they came and left as they pleased. No more regularity. Humans were no longer the owner of the place where they stood. They were merely like guests whose presence was unwelcomed.

Jimin's heart shrank to hear thunder rumble. Why did the rain come at the most unexpected time? How could he manage to help Bhrea and her brother -his best friend's precious friends-if it rained? When perhaps he himself just wouldn't survive that situation.

'When was the last time it rained?' He whispered in his mind.

No one remembered, obviously.

*****

"When was the last time it rained? Aish! I really don't remember." Hoseok muttered after hearing the raging thunder.

He was in the basement, struggling to get his hands into the trunk of the bus to look for the bag they brought from their camp. But apparently, he couldn't reach it.

"Hyung?" Jungkook peeked into the trunk from behind Hoseok's bent body.

"Hmm..."

"What took you so long? Need a hand?" He asked after quite some time Hoseok hadn't made it to reach what he was looking for.

Still bending, Hoseok answered the curious boy with his annoyed voice, "the bag got stuck, damn! It's far behind, Kook, I can't reach it!"

"Ah, simple! Leave it to this golden Blueties. Move your ass!" Jungkook lightly tapped Hoseok's back, making the older straighten his body and step aside.

He then stood at Hoseok's previous place, bending his body forward and stretching out his hand into the trunk. He reached to the back corner, pulling and jerking the stuck bag strap.

"Ha! Gotcha!" He cheered with a joyful grin on his face, pulling out the heavy bag with his hands. "Look, I can get it even in less than five minutes, Hyung!"

He lifted the bag full of food and shoved it right in front of Hoseok's face while wiggling his brows, teasing him.

"Tch! You're just lucky, Kookie bunny..." Hoseok evaded, rolling his eyes. "I almost got the bag, but you know, I was just being nice to you. So, shhh... Zip your mouth!"

"Oh really?"

"Yeah..." Hoseok shrugged.

Jungkook shook his head and said, "I don't think so. I think it's more because..." Jungkook motioned his fingers, hinting Hoseok to come closer. "Look at your arms, Hyung," he whispered and the older glanced at his arms cluelessly.

"What's with my arms?" Hoseok asked innocently.

A cynical smile curved on Jungkook's lips as he low-key prepared himself to run. "Nothing. It's just that... They are short as fuck, haha!"

"You, asshole! Come here, you, kid! I'll whoop your ass till you drop! Yah!" Hoseok yelled as he ran after his younger teammate.

Jungkook ran around the basement, laughing out loud. Hoseok chased him behind. He managed to push Jungkook with his right leg, causing the elated boy to stumble forward. The action nearly dropped the entire bag on the floor.

"Woops!"

Both of them crashed onto each other to grab the bag and its almost spilled contents just before it hit the floor. And that's when they heard someone clear his throat at the doorway.

"Really, Kook? Hoseok? At a time like this?" Jimin stood with his arms folded across his chest. His face was fierce, more like cold.

The two boys bowed in remorse while nudging each other out of nervousness, making Jimin huff and shake his head in annoyance.

"Inside, now!" Jimin snapped, leaving them just like that.

"Yes, Sir..." Hoseok and Jungkook replied weakly. Their heads hung low as they followed him inside.

"How can he be so mean to us but he's exclusively sweet to that Taetae guy? He's so unfair, don't you think?" Jungkook grumble-whispered to Hoseok beside him.

"Can't agree more," Hoseok whispered back, pouting.

"Give Namjoon and Taehyung double portion," Jimin ordered when finally they reached the room as he took a seat beside his best friend, "It'll help them recover faster," he glanced and smiled at Taehyung who was leaning back on the sofa.

Jungkook nodded, taking down the bag on the table to then share the food with help from Heize. "Thanks, Heizy," he beamed as he winked at her.

"You're welcome, Kookie," Namjoon replied instead, taking the food from Jungkook's hand as he smiled weakly at the dumbfounded boy.

"Hyung! You're awake!" Jungkook put down all the food on the table, then rushed to approach Namjoon.

"Yes, flirty boy, I am." Namjoon simply replied, smiling.

The gleam of happiness in Jungkook's eyes was evident. His smile spread so wide, revealing his white bunny teeth. To see his hyung he worried about so much sitting there in front of him with a warm smile and comforting gaze made his heart fill with extreme relief. He stooped in excitement, about to hug Namjoon but just before his arms touched Namjoon's shoulders, Jimin cleared his throat.

"He's still injured, Kook. Save that hug for later, hm?"

Jungkook froze for a moment before slowly strengthening his body. He smiled sheepishly, pulling back his still stretched arms to hug his own body instead. His antics got everyone to laugh, including Heize who was staring at him with a loving gaze while unconsciously biting her lip.

"Come on, Hyung, I'll help you," Jungkook stood closer to help Namjoon lift his body when he saw his hyung trying to sit up straight by himself.

"It's okay, Kookie, I'm fine." Said Namjoon after finally managing to sit up properly.

"Take it easy, Joon." Jimin gave him another pack of food from across the table. "Eat a lot, it will boost your healing process and you'll be much better when you get sunlight tomorrow."

"Thank you, Serge," Namjoon slightly bowed, taking the food from Jimin.

"Wow, looks like everyone is so into you, Sergeant. Are you that scary, dude?" Taehyung teased, nudging Jimin's chest.

"Yah! I said watch your attitude, dude!" Jungkook growled.

"Hey... It's okay, Kook," Jimin calmly asserted.

Taehyung smiled wickedly at the glaring Jungkook, making the younger roll his eyes at him, then looked away while muttering, "son of a bitch..."

*****

"So, Tae, now tell me about this Bhrea girl in detail," Jimin said as he look at his best friend who was laying his body on the floor.

It was a new day already. The two injured Blueties were bathing their half-naked bodies to the exposure of the blazing sun penetrating in through the large glass window.

Hearing Jimin's voice, Taehyung opened his closed eyes. "So curious I see, Jiminie..." He chirped.

He rose to his feet as he grabbed the shirt hanging on his shoulder and put it back on. Jimin lightly shook his head when Taehyung showed him an ambiguous grin on his face.

"What's with that grin, alien?" Jimin asked.

"Why are you so eager to know about her? Taehyung asked back, wiggling his brows. He flopped his body on the sofa next to his best friend.

"Nothing, just curious," Jimin shrugged.

"Okay...?" Taehyung teased further.

Jimin face-palmed himself, putting on his intimidating gaze.

Taehyung shuddered at the intense glare. No matter how close they were, he couldn't do anything when Jimin had shown his dominant nature like that.

"Ahem!" Taehyung awkwardly cleared his throat, "so, she's actually an ordinary girl but also an extraordinary one at the same time. I even think that she's possibly... your type?" Showing his toothy grin while resting his chin on his knuckles, he waited for Jimin to respond.

"What a nonsense," Jimin snorted, shaking his head.

"Nonsense? Look, buddy... One, she is persistent, too persistent." Taehyung shoved his forefinger right in front of Jimin's face.

"And?" Jimin raised an eyebrow.

Everyone gradually stopped what they were doing, turning their eyes to Taehyung to listen to what he would say next.

Taehyung smirked, satisfied to see their curious faces. "Two, there's no quitting in her vocabulary. Three, she is affectionate. Four, she always puts others before herself, exactly like you," he bumped his fist to Jimin's chest.

"And above all, five, she is a..." He deliberately hung his words as he gazed around the whole room, enjoying the curiosity rising in everyone's eyes.

"A what, asshole!" Jungkook snapped, pushing Taehyung's shoulder hard from behind.

"She's a Sapphire Blueties!" Taehyung blurted.

"What?" Hoseok and Jimin gasped, looking at each other.

"A Sapphire Blueties, like you, Jimin," Taehyung confirmed it once again.

Jimin was lost in thoughts. His mind jumbled with questions; was it true what Taehyung said that there's another Sapphire Blueties besides himself? Why didn't he know a bit about her? Where had she been all this time? Was it true that the girl they're talking about was that special?

"If she really is a Sapphire Blueties, I think she can take good care of herself, right?" Jungkook said lazily as he flopped his body on the sofa right beside Heize.

"Actually, Kookie, she's not well trained," Heize refuted, swiveling to be face to face with the guy spreading his arms next to her.

"Huh, how come?" Asked Jungkook.

"She never joined the military, not even taking a basic training," Taehyung answered instead.

His countenance changed drastically from mischievous became serious in a split second. He put his elbows on his knees, clasping his palms in front of his face. "All this time, she kept herself hidden as a Sapphire Blueties from everyone, from every single soul."

"Her father, Professor Kim Mouri, maybe you all have heard of him?" Heize resumed, stirring her gaze around.

"Yeah, of course, he was one of the best scientists in the whole country, one of my dad's partners at the central lab back then," Jimin replied in a weak voice, swallowing hard as if he remembered something awful.

"Yeah, you're right. He was our nation's great scientist, also a Sapphire Blueties. And her mother, she's a doctor. And guess what? She's also a Sapphire Blueties," Heize deeply exhaled in between, leaning her body to the back of the sofa.

"Young Bhrea, she used to assist them in the laboratory. She observed her parents in developing valuable inventions to help the neediest among us, the Redties. Including her own brother, Archer, who is also a Redties." Her voice cracked, a long shaky breath coming out of her mouth.

'The legendary Kim couple, of course I knew them. But I had no idea that their daughter was a...'

"It was them, Jimin-ah." Taehyung words pulled Jimin back from his deep thoughts.

"Sorry?" Asked Jimin, puzzled.

"It was them who helped me that day. The day when you saw me die. It was them, Bhrea's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kim." Tehyung explained as he shifted in his seat to come face to face with Jimin. "I didn't know how, but they brought me back to life," he added.

"Whoah! This all sounds so interesting, doesn't it?" Hoseok whistled as he flicked his fingers in excitement. "I think we really need to help these two to find their precious pal and her Redties brother," pointing at Taehyung and Heize, he eyed at Jimin, "right, Serge?"

"Actually, guys, I met her. Bhrea." Namjoon spoke carefully while adjusting his position on the sofa.

"You what?" Taehyung and Heize shouted at the same time.

Namjoon huffed, then opened his mouth and said, "so, when I was taken by the beasts to their hideout, she and her brother were there and-"

"They're fine, right? I mean, not injured too bad? Was she being tortured all the time? Did Archer survive? Did-"

"Tae, calm! Let him finish his story, hm?" Jimin patted Taehyung's back, calming his anxious best friend. Taehyung shut his mouth that was still slightly open as he nodded weakly.

Jimin nodded to Namjoon, hinting him to continue his story. And yes, Namjoon opened his mouth once again, telling them the rest of the story about him and the girl they're talking about.

"So, you met her and Archie, she helped you, and then she managed to run away last night?" Taehyung summarized what was being told by Namjoon in several important points.

"Hmm..." Namjoon nodded, "as I said before, she just protected her brother, like all the time. I was also tortured, badly, but it's nothing compared to her." He shut his eyes for a moment in full remorse, then opened them again just to meet Taehyung's and Heize's blank face.

"And, when she herself struggled to survive with the wounds all over her body, she still came to help you when you're being tortured?" Asked Hoseok, getting attracted by the story. He leaned his body forward as he rested his elbow on his knees.

"That's just so typical of her, bro, believe it or not. Like I said before, she always puts others before herself. The girl version of Park Jimin." Taehyung crossed his leg and glanced at his silent best friend.

"She really is a true fighter, whoah!" Hoseok clapped in amazement, "she's lucky those beasts didn't finish her off."

"You know beasts, they don't take humans to chew their flesh or drink their blood only. More than that, they wanna play us. Just like what a cat does to a mouse. They torture us, make us their toys. They do it just for fun and will only eat us when we have no more energy left in our bodies," said Namjoon, staring ahead blankly.

"That is sick! They're disgusting animals!" Heize snarled, her eyes were burning with fury.

"No, those who tormented me, Bhrea, and Archer were not completely like animals. Whereas the beast that fully turned like an animal is the low-class beast, the kind of beast that isn't considered important to the pack."

"Low class? You mean like Redties in human classification?" Heize asked in surprise. And everyone nodded, including Jimin.

"Damn! How can I know nothing about this? I should've finished my basic training back then," she sighed.

"I can help you with it, Heizy, chill..." Jungkook chuckled at her cute actions.

Namjoon shook his head at those two, giving them a knowing look. He then pivoted to Jimin, taking a long breath as he said, "we really have to save her, Serge. I really owed Bhrea so much. I wouldn't survive without her."

Jimin just stayed in silence, staring thoughtfully ahead. He low-key whispered in his mind, 'yes, we surely have to save her. It would be a great loss to lose a brave soul like her, like Bhrea.'

"So, what happened after she managed to run away?" Taehyung asked once again.

"Uh, yeah... I thought it was just a dream. But in the morning the beasts were furious after they realized her absence," Namjoon scoffed, a wide grin crept across his face, "they're so dumb."

"We always know that they're just clumps of flesh and bones without brain. Nothing new." Jungkook shrugged.

"They may be dumb, but they can easily snap your neck with one hand." Taehyung chimed in, smirking at Jungkook who looked back at him with a razor-sharp stare.

Realizing the rising tension, Namjoon continued his story. "So, after they mentioned that they knew her position, I used my remaining strength to secretly put my tracker device in one of the beasts."

He turned around to Hoseok and said, "I hope that tracker works, dude, it will help us to find her."

"We'll see!" Said Hoseok, pulling out his device from his pants pocket.

He put the device on the table, then tapped on the screen several times. His facial expression changed into an intense one, his eyes were erratic, moving along with the directions of his fingers. One minute passed and he was still focused on the screen. He tapped once, twice, thrice, but nothing happened. With a confident move, he tapped once again in the center, then swiped up the screen. There, finally, they could see a single blue dot emitting.

"Gottcha!" Hoseok clapped, smiling widely at Namjoon. "We're so lucky! Your tracker is still working, Joon!"

"Does that mean we can save Bhrea and Archer? For real?" Heize suddenly grabbed Jungkook's face.

"I think the answer is... yes?" the startled boy answered, giving a slight nod.

And without a cue, Heize pecked Jungkook on the lips before rising on her feet, "yeah, yeah, yeah... Finally!" She did a little dance move with a bright smile plastered on her face while humming nonstop.

Jungkook froze. "Oh, my Godness! She's cute..." Jungkook blurted out, slowly resting his chin on his knuckles with his eyes staring at her lovingly.

'Aish! My poor heart...' He whispered in his mind.

But in a split second, it dawned on him.

"Shit! Did you all see us? Did... Did I say it out loud? That cute thingy? Hm? Please say I didn't, please no..." Jungkook nervously asked.

Then he saw his hyungs and Taehyung smiled, then grinned, and not long after, they cracked up. "Aish! This's embarrassing." He whined, hiding his face between his knees to avoid the teasing stares.

They all kept laughing and teasing the lovebirds, making their flustered face even redder. Both Jungkook and Heize tried to act cool. They laughed along with the others while secretly making eye contact and constantly biting their lips so that the smile wouldn't be formed.

Both tried their best not to be too obvious, keeping it low the bursting feeling within themselves. They struggled to explain, whatever came out of their mouths was nothing but another ludicrousness, adding to the cacophony in the room.

"Alright, alright, guys... Back on track." Told Namjoon, "save the jokes for later because now we need to make a good plan. A good rescue plan for Bhrea and Archer and-"

"NO!"

Jimin's stern voice interrupted, surprising everybody in that room who shortly looked at him in confusion.

"I said no," he repeated, staring back intensely at each one of them.

One realization hit them hard.

When they all were laughing earlier, Jimin was the only one who didn't even share a single smile for their silliness. He never let his guard down even just for a split second. He kept his calm composure, using his brain tirelessly to plot a strategy, a clear strategy.

Taehyung reached him out, asking his best friend to look at him in the eyes. "Jimin-ah, you promised me, what do you mean with no? I don't get it, I thought-"

"The rain, you all think it will work for us, don't you? You think because the beasts don't like when it rains, you all assume this mission will go smoothly without a big problem, am I right?" Jimin fell silent, waiting for them to respond.

Everyone slowly nodded.

"Wrong! You're all wrong!" He slurred.

"First, you all forget that rain will also sap your energy faster. Not just for the Blueties, but everyone, including me. We'll be inevitably vulnerable because we'll be drained easily. And second, there's an enormous danger that always comes after the rain," he shifted his gaze to Taehyung, giving him a certain look.

"R-rain disaster..." Taehyung continued Jimin's sentence in a whisper.

Everyone in that room knew what the rain disaster was, what kind of terror it was. Everyone knew. But only Jimin and Taehyung had ever witnessed the ferocity of that nightmare. The nightmare that claimed the lives of all of their loved ones, the nightmare that led them to an abyss of endless pain and sorrow, the nightmare that kept them apart.

Jimin and taehyung looked at each other with immense wounds that were crystal clear in their eyes.

"It's a doom." Taehyung again whispered.

"After the last drop of water touches the ground, that's when Beasts from all over the place will come out from their hideouts with their aggressiveness level at its max. They'll hunt in every place, every spot, every corner, for whatever creature it is, animals, humans, or if they don't find any, they'll prey on each other. That is a rain disaster."

He sneered at the sight of everyone's face changed dramatically—becoming pale as a ghost.

"How? Still thinking this mission will be an easy one?"

Everyone in that room shuddered. They slowly slumped on their seat with their heads hung low, realizing what kind of danger they were in. It's like everyone got sucked into that scary world where Jimin had been living alone.

"So, NO!" Jimin declared once again with a bit more emphasis.

"We're not going to make a good plan. We need more than that. A perfect plan. A flawless plan, without a spare for a single mistake in it. Because if so, even the slightest thing, this mission will turn into a suicide mission!" His voice raised, showing everyone his integrity as the leader.

"And I think we should get going now," Hoseok lifted the device in his hand.

Red dots were all over the screen.

"Beasts. Lots of them are heading this way," he gulped.

Jimin stood up instantly.

"Pack our stuff, we're leaving, NOW!"
