Part 2: The Town
"Mom?"
"Yes, Sweety?"
"What were you and Daddy fighting about?"
"Daddy is just worried about our job, sweety."
"Your job?"
"Yes, times are getting hard. It is no longer safe for us to continue our broadcasts here on Lothal."
"Then stop!"
"No Ezra, we can't stop. One day you will understand."
Ezra open his eyes. He was laying on his bunk, Zeb snoring loudly beneath him. It was dark out but not too dark. That meant it must be early in the morning. He quietly slipped off the bed, not wanting to wake up Zeb and tip toed out the door. (Omg that rhymes!) Hera and Kannan were already sitting at the table talking to commander Sato via hologram.
"Good, Ezra is already awake so you can begin explaining the mission to him," he said as soon as Ezra came into view. His parent figures spun around, surprised by him being awake at 5:00 in the morning.
"Why are you out of bed so early?" Asked Hera.
"I--" Ezra was cut short by his commander.
"If I'm not needed here," Commander Sato said awkwardly.
"I better be informing Captain Rex. Contact me as soon as your shuttle has left." He ended the holocom leaving the 3 rebels staring blankly at each other. The silence was broken by Ezra.
"So, um. What's this about a new mission?" He looked up at them, waiting patiently for an answer. Finally, Kannan replied.
"The empire has been seen selling illegal mining equipment to some of the residence in Capital city on Lothal. If we can get some real evidence of this, we could use it to file charges against the troops on Lothal. We need to find the witness before the empire does, or it will be too late." Then Hera explains,
"There's one problem though, our machines can't match his coordinates to a specific location, so we have no idea were to find him. And since you grew up near that city, we were hoping that you could lead a squad out to find his location." When he doesn't seem too excited she adds,
"You will get to be Squad Sargent. Isn't that cool?!" Ezra smiled.
"Hera, as long as I get to boss Captain Rex around, that's 'cool' enough for me."

At around 6:00 they woke everybody up and Ezra, Rex, Sabine, Zeb, and one other Phoenix squady piled into The Phantom and started heading to Lothal. Hera and Kannan stayed behind to watch The Ghost.
"So, Ezra. Do you have any idea where this guy even lives?" asked Sabine. Ezra sighed, he had no idea were to find the person. The truth was, he wasn't fit to lead any squad. He was just a stray after all.
"Well, I recognize the street name. But we are going to have to look around for the house number. Can I see the coordinates again?" Sabine pressed a button on her armor and a small disk popped out. She handed it to him, L-95k. Ezra looked at the additional squad member.
"I'm sorry. What's your name again?" He felt a little bad, she had been just sitting there this whole time without saying a word.
"My name is Maud. I'm with the troop from Cloud City. And you are?"
"I'm Ezra. I'm from the Ghost Crew." He was about to stretch his hand out for her to shake when Zeb butted in,
"No offense 'Maud', but we could have handled this simple mission by our selves." That earned him a slap in the arm by Sabine. Maud didn't seem to take it so personally though.
"Oh, of course. You will be handling everything. I am simply here to get the evidence needed of the storm troopers and to document the event for Commander Sato." She patted the satchel that lay a crossed her hip for proof.
"We're entering Lothal's atmosphere." Called Rex from the cockpit. Ezra stood up to go look out the window followed by Sabine. Sabine had been on Lothal hundreds of times, but she didn't recognize this place. They were low enough that you could practically touch the top of the small buildings. Power lines draped over houses and graffiti lined the sides of brick buildings. And not the artistic kind. Is this were Ezra grew up? She thought to herself.
"If you turn right here then keep going straight, you will end up in a small field were you can dock." Directed Ezra. Rex did just that.
SNAP! They both turned around and looked at Maud. She blushed then snapped another picture. Ezra scoffed. He must find people who take pictures of poor houses annoying.
"We're here. Hurry get out we are on a schedule!"

"Ezra, we've been walking around for hours and we haven't seen any guys claiming to have seen stormtroopers selling anything. We haven't even seen any storm troopers! I'm not complaining but this place is beyond peaceful." Sabine words frustrated Ezra. Didn't she know he was trying? It was hard enough being back in the same town that......the accident happened. But now he was being patronized for it.
"Yah. It's getting dark out, Ezra. Are there any shelters we can spend the night in that you know of?" said Rex. Ezra rolled his eyes. Everyone on Lothal knew about the horrible things that happened at homeless shelters.
"No, we should just walk back to The Phantom and fly to the closest housing unit." He knew what Sabine was going to say next before she did.
"That's too far. If Imperials find us walking around in the dark, their going to get suspicious. We should go to your old tower. You know, the junky com tower with all of your souvenirs and stuff." Crud. Thought Ezra. He really didn't want to go their. But in a the back of his mind, he knew it was the best decision.
"Com tower it is!"
Okay, so the beginning was kind of cheesy. But you made it all the way to the author's note so it couldn't have been that bad! Right? I just finished this and you're probably like: What took you so long!!! I really don't have an excuse but ill try to update more often for you.
Yoda: Do or do not, there is no try.
Me: Shut up you're not in this story! Constellations,
