21. Eternal Power
Street lights lit the path ahead as their long metallic rods cast a shadow on the ground. A little hedgehog passed right by Evie's feet as she walked, her mind filled with Jimin's voice which echoed continuously.
"You told me that you were sad as the person you love does not love you back but have you tried confessing your feelings to him? How can you be so sure that he does not love you?"
Her grip on the raincoat which hung on her shoulders tightened as her heart had a feeling of uncertainty pounding in it.
Her feet soon stopped infront of a small house which had a wooden door locked securely from outside.
Evie searched her jean's pockets as she finally brought out a small key which was then fitted into the lock and turned. The lock opened with a click as she pushed the door and a streak of light hit her eyes.
Walking inside, she closed the door from behind and then took off the raincoat. Holding it in her hands, she brought it closer to her face and breathed in, its scent reminding her of the boy she met earlier.
A small smile crept up on her face which felt good after having all those burdening thoughts continuously passing in her mind.
Keeping the coat on a stand nearby, she took off her shoes and then walked towards a room located on the left side. Resting her palm on its door, she pushed it open and came inside.
This small house in which she lived alone was bought by her parents who currently lived in another kingdom due to their business related activities.
Ronald, Evie's brother stayed with their parents while Evie came here to finish her higher studies in the prestigious Royal Academy Of Magic, a well known college where all great wizards and witches qualified.
Evie just recently had finished her studies and continued staying here as she got a good job which required her magic skills of being able to talk to animals and other fantasy creatures.
You could say that life was set for her, but she still felt lonely sometimes, having a longing to meet her family again and see how they were doing.
"Maybe, next year." Would be the thought that would come in her mind everytime she remembered and longed to go back to them.
Opening the shutters of her window which was right next to her bed, she sat down on the soft mattress after she had changed to her sleeping clothes.
The moon's light illuminated the room as Evie shifted forward and then lay down on her back.
"Should I do it?" She thought with nervousness as she looked out of the window and at the night sky. "Should I confess my feelings?"
She turned to her right and then turned to her left as her mind finally came to a decision and that being to confess and get done with all this drama. Afterall, there were only two outcomes: Either the Prince would reject her and they would continue being friends or...just maybe...he too would have the same feelings for her.
Sleep slowly took over her as these thoughts continued to wander in her heart, as throughout the night she dreamt about various situations and happening that may take place after she would confess.
But only if she knew that tomorrow's event would change her life and turn it to a complete and utter chaos...

"My Lord, its been a long time since we have taken any action and done anything. For how long are we not going to make our presence felt?"
The Dark Lord, who sat on his throne, looked at the half man and half ghoul who stood infront of him, "Seth, you surely are way more impatient than I am." Damien, as usual, held a calm and collected expression as he spoke with a dangerously low voice.
He slowly got up from his throne, his red robes shining under the lights of his huge castle as he walked towards a fire which was burning inside a lantern.
His eyes shone with pure evil and hatred as one gaze of his could cause a persons knees to weaken in fright.
"The blue stone...its gaining its powers...I can feel it and I am sure the Prince can too."
Silence fell in the room as Seth's eyes widened with disbelief, "The stone of everlasting and eternal power?" He asked with uneven breaths as Damien turned to look at his side, his red eyes glowing due to the fire.
"Yes, the stone of everlasting power, The Sapphire of Eternal Power. Seth, do you know why its so important to me?"
Seth shook his head in response, "No My Lord."
Damien now averted his gaze from Seth as he raised his hand which to Seth's shock had a pattern drawn on it which he knew too well.
Seth immediately looked up at Damien with wide eyes and he spoke in a disturbed voice, "Lord, if I am not wrong then isn't that the Abaddon's Curse which can never be healed?"
Damien grimly nodded as he retrieved his hand and hid it behind his cloak, "A curse which I had received the night I escaped. The night when I was completely shattered and broken due to my friends betrayal. It was that day when I had met a peculiar man and made a deal. A deal which said that if accepted, I would receive all the dark powers that existed in the world except for one."
"And what was that?"
"The power of immortality." These words echoed in the room as Seth looked at his master, taking in the words he said.
"So, what happened next?"
"The man said that the only way to receive the power of immortality was to kill the future Prince and find The Sapphire of Eternal Power. This stone as said in the prophesies, would be formed once the Prince would turn 18 and it would start gaining powers after the Prince turns 20. If I don't get that stone soon then I will perish due to this Abaddon's Curse which would take over me bit by bit. You understand don't you Seth?"
Seth looked down, his mind filled with the words he heard. "Then what about the Guardian? What role does she play in all this?"
Damien chuckled as a small smirk made its way on his lips, "Aera being the Guardian is the only one who can find the stone and unleash its powers. She may not know this now, but there is a very powerful magic which resides in her and for this magic to be used for our own good, we need to keep a close eye on her which I hope you have taken of."
"Yes, I have."
Keeping his hands on his back, the Dark Lord walked towards his throne and once again sat on it as he muttered to himself, "Time is ticking and moments are flying by, soon that stone will be in my hands and no one would be able to defeat me and get in my way."

Two swords clashed against one another as a loud sound echoed in the practice field.
Aera retrieved her sword and then brought it forward at an immense speed as her sword once again got blocked by the Prince causing Aera to stumble back.
"Common, is that all you can give?" He called out, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead.
Aera shook her head as she got up, eyes filled with pure determination, "Oh, don't underestimate and judge me so quickly, Prince Taehyung."
Running forward, she once again clashed Taehyung's sword as she then came back and did the same again, but this time with more power and strength which caused the sword held in Taehyung's hand to slip and fall down.
Taehyung looked at Aera with an expression of awe and surprise as he raised his eyebrows, "You really have improved a lot!" He exclaimed as he sat down on the ground, tired out.
Aera gave a triumph of victory as she punched the air in joy and landed on her feet.
"See, I told you! Never underestimate me!"
Taehyung chuckled as he shook his head, his blue hair sticking to his forehead due to sweat.
Aera kept her sword aside as she walked towards Taehyung and folding her legs, sat next to him. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear she looked to her side at the Prince and gave a smile.
Taehyung, who had been looking at the flowers which surrounded the palace, felt someone's eyes on his as he turned to his side to see Aera looking at him.
"Is there anything you want?" He asked, as Aera gave a cheeky smile and looked away.
"Well, I was just wondering...earlier this morning when me and Jungkook were talking to each other, were you getting jealous?"
Hearing these words, Taehyung's eyes widened with surprise as he was taken aback at the sudden question. His cheeks started heating as he could feel himself turn into a bright red tomato.
He gave an awkward laugh as he shook his head, "Me? Jealous? Ha, ha, that's the funniest thing I have heard today."
Aera raised an amused eyebrow as she leaned a bit closer to the Prince and looked at him straight in the eye, "Really Prince? Then how would you explain the reason of why you had suddenly pulled me away from Jungkook?"
Caught in a dilemma, Taehyung just smiled awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
Silence which took over and each passing second felt like eternity as Aera on noticing how awkward the Prince was starting to get, gave a small chuckle and backed away.
"Cute!" She mumbled which Taehyung's ears were able to pick up.
"I, am, cute?" He thought, a bit bewildered at how his heart suddenly started racing.
He felt like saying something when suddenly, a burning feeling passed like an electric shock through his body. It caused him to jolt up as a furious energy formed in him, causing his hands to burn.
Aera, on seeing this sudden happening, got up in worry as she realized that blue flames were starting to form in Taehyung's palms while his eyes shone brightly, emitting an enormous amount of power.
"T-Taehyung?" She called out in worry as the Prince did not respond but rather stood straight, as if he had been put in an enchantment spell.
Deep inside the Earth's surface, a place where a small tribe lived, a blue shining light illuminated the otherwise dark atmosphere.
This light was so strong that it hurt the people's eyes as it continued to shine with immense power. It came from within an underground cave located somewhere in a hidden mountainous region.
A strong wind blew, causing chaos to break in its nearby area.
Inside those caves, hidden deep within, kept in a small amulet was a stone, a sapphire stone alight with a bright blue flame.
"Everyone! Get away from here! The Sapphire of Eternal Power is gaining its energy! RUN!"
Tribal people ran hither and thither in confusion and panic as they distanced themselves from the stone which was slowly and slowly building energy, its connections and origins which ran deep with a person who lived in lands far away from it.
Just as how suddenly the powerful energy had passed by him, in an exact same way the energy left him causing Taehyung to fall to the ground on his knees.
His hands were formed in fists as his mind ran wild on the scenes that he had been shown.
"Taehyung!" Aera called out in panic as she crouched down and kept a hand on his shoulder. "What happened? Are you ok?"
Taehyung slowly turned to his side as he shook his head, "Aera, just as it had been prophesized, The Sapphire of Eternal Power has awoken and soon, the reign of greed for this power will begin."
