06. Wisteria Tree

The next night...

Walking up the slope of the small hill which was situated near the old woods, Area tightly held the book in her hands, keeping it near her chest as she approached the magnificent and beautiful wisteria tree.

Though very old, the tree had lost none of it's beauty as it stood firmly on the ground, a gentle wind blowing through its pinkish leaves.

Sitting down near the tree, Aera kept the book on the green grass and then looked at the time in her watch.

"One minute to midnight." She mumbled as she rubbed her arms which had goosebumps on them.

It was no lie that Area was extremely nervous but also a bit curious to know what would happen at the strike of twelve.

Would some magical fairies appear with a unicorn?

Or would a huge dragon suddenly throw it's blazing fire?

"Nah, that's a bit extreme." Area thought with a chuckle as she picked the book up and kept it on her lap.

Tick-tick, the clock went as the seconds hand shifted its position and landed on the number twelve leading the minutes hand and the hours hand to do the same.

The clock struck twelve as a tingling sensation immediately rushed through Aera.

Carefully holding the book with trembling hands she flipped the first page and, lo-behold, the book this time actually did open.

Her heart raced with curiosity and nervousness as her eyes scanned the page and fell on a group of words that were written down in a very posh and flowery manner.

She read through it in confusion, "What are these words? They don't even make any sense..." She thought with a bit of disappointment.

To be honest, she actually thought that something grand and big was going to happen but all her expectations fell flat as she looked around to see nothing peculiar happening around her.

"Maybe I should try reading out the words loudly."

Her eyes once again fell down on the words as she carefully recited them, trying her best to not make a mistake.

"Einai kairos gia mena, o millontikos nkaourntianos Aera na analavo tin efthyni mou..."

Silence took over the atmosphere as Aera turned the page and read out the words written on it, this time being in a language that she was able to understand,

"Oh Forbidden Door, open yourself and let me enter. Oh the power of magic enter my veins so that I can fulfil my duty."

Aera said the words out loud and then turned to the next page, but to her surprise, found it empty. So closing book, she kept it aside as she then took a deep breath to calm down her racing heart.

If only Aera would have thought of looking up, she would have noticed how the leaves of the old wisteria tree had now started to glow. A golden spark of light formed in its dark brown trunk to which Aera immediately got up in shock and stumbled back.

"What's happening?"

It's leaves glistered under the light of the shining moon as golden sparks of light flew from the tree and started heading towards Aera.

Though all of this was very overwhelming and unbelievable, still, it was a beautiful sight to see.

The golden sparks of light slowly circled Aera, and each time they did so, Aera could feel energy and strength form inside her.

She felt a gush of energy pass through her as the last spark in-circled and then landed on her palm which was kept open.

The leaves of the wisteria tree finally stopped glowing as everything turned back to normal once again.

Aera, who now stood breath taken, kept her hand on her chest as her heart pounded so fast that she feared if someone would have stood near her, they would have been able to hear it.

She bent down to pick the book, but before she could do so a distant melody reached her ears.

Aera immediately got up, her ears pricked up as she tried to locate the place from where the sound was coming.

"The woods?" She realized as a memory of when she was five years old made its way in her mind. "Could it be coming form that door again?"

There was only one way to know, follow the melody...

"Prince," The young man shouted. "Wait for me!"

The young prince gave a teasing smile to his friend as he raced into the woods, with his friend falling behind.

Soon, they came to a stop as the prince came down from his horse and looked at his approaching friend who had worry written all over his face.

"Taehyung, you should not have sped off like that! You could have lost your way or worse might have gotten hurt." Jungkook scolded his friend to which Taehyung raised an eyebrow in an amused manner.

"Common Jungkook, I am not a two year old kid anymore." He said. "And how will I loose my way in these woods? They are like home to me and you don't get lost in your own home."

Giving a sigh, Jungkook shook his head as he turned around to take the lead liner rope of his horse and tie it to the trunk of a nearby tree.

The sound of gushing water could be heard, as The Blue Eyed Prince, walked towards the magical falls situated nearby.

The water of the falls fell down, a rhythmic melody being formed by it's droplets as it hit the ground below while forest fairies flew around here and there, doing work such as collecting small twigs of wood or some fruits.

"Good day prince Taehyung." A young forest fairy wished him to which Taehyung gave a warm smile. "Good day!"

Sitting down on the banks of a river situated just near the magical falls, Taehyung and Jungkook collected some stones and threw them to see whose would go the furthest, an activity which they would usually do to pass time.

"So tell me Taehyung, how is your training going so far?" Jungkook asked asked as he picked up a small stone.

"Its pretty tense." Taehyung replied with a sigh. "I have so far been doing great in my combat skills and the sword fighting along with dragon riding is also going smoothly. But the problem lies in my use of magic."

Jungkook raised an eyebrow as he heard the last few words his friend said. "Don't tell me, the great prince is still not able to control his powerful magic?"

Hitting Jungkook at his arm, Taehyung rolled his eyes. "I am trying my best but its hard!" He said in a defending voice. "Everytime I use my magic something disastrous happens because I am not able to control its power."

Giving a comforting smile to his friend, Jungkook threw the stone he had in hand.

It was true that though the prince possessed an extremely powerful magic within him, the problem lay in utilising it properly and carefully because whenever something is extremely powerful, it should be tamed so that it can be used without causing any harm.

And this was problem that Taehyung struggled with.

He was an all rounder, a perfect swordsman and a great rider, but not so good in controlling his powers.

"Bro, its ok. Just keep working hard and don't loose hope." Jungkook said in an attempt to cheer his friend up.

"Right, easy for you to say." Taehyung muttered under his breath. "You stay here, I am going to take a walk for a few minutes."

"Sure."

Getting up, Taheyung put his hands in his pockets as he walked away from the magical falls and into the green woods.

All this talk about him being some legendary prince and prophesies about him being the one who would defeat the dark powers was something that caused a lot of pressure to build up inside him because of the continuous expectations.

"How am I even that special?" He would think with a sigh. "I cant even control my own magical powers, how will I be able to destroy the darkness by myself?"

Walking down the path, the leaves crunched under his feet as a gentle wind blew through his hair. "I wish I had a better control of my magic." He whispered as a disappointed sigh left his lips.

As he walked into the woods, a loud scream was suddenly heard which immediately pulled him out of his thoughts and made him look towards the direction from where the sound came.

"Falkor..." He mumbled with worry as he saw a creature attack some unknown person.

She followed the melody and just as she thought, it led her to the old door again.

But surprisingly, this time, the door was not shut but rather open.

°Just a little bit of courage, just a little bit of faith. Oh my dear darling, open that door as it awaits°

She could hear a mysterious voice whisper to her.

Putting her hand on the frame of the old door, she stepped closer to it. One step and then the next, an action which now allowed her to view an unknown place which was where this door lead to.

"Another realm?"

Slowly, she stepped inside into this other world as realization took over her that this world, just like her's, too had a forest surrounding its side of the Forbidden Door.

But the difference lay in the fact that this side had more greenery and liveliness while the woods surrounding her side were more dull and lonely.

As Aera finally stepped inside, the door behind her close shut to which she immediately turned around with shock. "No!" She exclaimed as she tried to push it open.

After minutes passed by without the door opening again, Aera turned around and looked at her surrounding area with uncertainty.

What was this place? Could it be dangerous?

Taking a deep breath, Aera clenched her fist as she carefully started walking away from the door, into these beautiful yet mysterious woods.

Walking with light steps so as to not make noise, so far, Aera had neither seen nor heard the sound of anyone or anything except that of falling water which probably came from a waterfall nearby.

As she continued walking, she suddenly heard someone giggle.

Immediately turning around, her eyes scanned the surrounding area but she could see no one except the huge stretch of land covered with trees.

"Over here!" A low yet high pitched voice which seemed as if it belonged to a child said.

Aera turned to look at the place from where the sound came and immediately gasped in wonder and surprise. "A fairy!" She whispered with disbelief as the small creature flew towards her and gave a shy smile.

"Hello." It said with an innocent voice to which Aera staggered back.

"Wait! Please don't go!" The child fairy said now with a sad tone in her voice. "I just wanted to greet you. Please don't be scared." It continued with a small sniff.

Aera's heart softened as she heard the sadness in this cute looking fairy's voice.

Slowly approaching the small creature, Aera held out her hand to which the fairy's eyes immediately lit up with happiness as she sat on Aera's palm.

Bringing her hand closer to her face so that she could get a better view of this small beautiful being, Aera gave a warm smile to which the fairy smiled back.

"Hi...little fairy." She said as she thought of what to say next. Afterall, its not an everyday thing that one would get to talk to a fairy. "I am Aera and you are?"

"Ginger." The fairy said in a cute-shy manner to which Aera could not help but give an 'aww' as a response.

"Ginger? That's such a cute name. Infact, its just as cute as you are." Aera complimented to which Ginger clapped her hands in happiness.

"And your name is just as beautiful as you are!" She chimed to which Aera gave a soft smile.

"Ginger!" A third voice spoke to which Ginger immediately got up. "You are really nice and kind, just like the prince I met yesterday. I hope I see you again. Bye Aera."

Ginger said as she then flew away. "Prince?" Aera mumbled with curiosity as she wished she could have asked who this prince was.

As Aera was deep in these thoughts, a sudden growl was heard as she jumped up in surprise and looked around with fear. "Hello?" She called out to which she was once again responded with a growl, this one being more fierce that the other.

A majestic blue dragon slowly emerged from the left side as Aera's eyes widened with shock. It started circling Aera, its eyes glowing with a blue spark.

Aera tried to remain as calm as possible as she looked at the dragon with undeniable awe. It was a really magnificent and majestic looking creature, with eyes resembling to those of a blue gem stone.

The dragon looked at her with curiosity as it walked towards her. It now stood just a few inches away from her, towering and seeing her from above.

Aera slowly stretched her hand forward as the dragon did the same by bringing its head closer to her.

She was about to gently stroke it when a sudden loud sound caused it to move violently, leading it's tail to hit Aera.

Aera screamed in pain as she fell down on the ground, the dragon looked at her with its furious eyes as it was about to attack her when a voice called out.

"FALKOR! STOP!"

The dragon immediately stopped at its tracks as it turned around and bowed down to the person to whom this voice belonged.

Aera's vision had started becoming blurry by now because of the pain she felt in her head. Her eyes tried to see the person who now stood near her with a worried expression.

"Are you ok?" The voice, whom she realized belonged to a man, said with worry as he bent down.

Unconsciousness started taking over her as the last thing she saw were the blue eyes of her saviour after which she fainted.
