Chapter 26 - Flowers and redheads
Gabriella made her way around the main part of the dock, ignoring the calls and whistles from the sailors and other men, as she mingled with the other people. A part of her thought it was nice to know that she could still attract the eyes of men, when she was a girl; but the bigger part of her was more concerned with two things: one........finding the redheaded man, giving him the note from the queen, and then getting back to the old hut so that she could change back into Gabriel. And two........not being seen by Aramis........or Athos. The young Fontin sending up another quick prayer to God, that he would keep the two other Musketeers busy, until she was no longer dressed as a girl.
"Well, what do we have here...........?" Gabriella stopping, as a much older man stepped in front of her; the eyes of the sailor wandering her body as he licked his lips. The young Fontin scrunching up her nose as the smell of ale, and an unclean body, hit her. Her hand instinctively gripping at the hilt of the dagger that she had placed into the pocket of her dress, as he took a step closer.
She had to think that once, he may have been handsome; but after years of working on the ships, his skin affected by the elements; of drinking away his pay when he got back to shore, he appeared much older than perhaps he was; and the lack of anything but two teeth in his mouth, was certainly doing him no favours.
"Excuse me, Monsieur.........." Gabriella said as politely as she could, before going to move passed him; only to have to stop as he caught her arm.
"What's the hurry, my pretty little bird? Why don't ya stay and talk with me a little longer.........maybe we can find somewhere a little more quiet, and........."
"Do you see this basket..........?" Gabriella interrupted. The man furrowing his brows as she pushed to basket right into him.
"This basket tells you that I sell flowers, not anything else. So, if you wish to find a lady that you can.........talk with; there appear to be plenty around here that will be more than happy to do that for you. Now, if you will excuse me........" She continued, pulling her arm away.
"Who do ya think ya are, ya little.........." Gabriella acting instinctively as he angrily grabbed for her again. It obvious that he was not one to take a subtle, no, for an answer. His eyes growing wide, as he felt something sharp, prick at his crotch.
"I think I am a woman with a very sharp dagger, who, if you do not let her go, will happily end your ability to ever......talk, with another woman again........" The Musketeer warned. A little part of her wanting to laugh as she saw him instantly seem to sober up, and gulp at the large lump, that had formed in his throat. Gabriella pulling herself from his now loose grip, before giving him one last warning look, then continuing on her way.

She huffed. How hard could it be to find one redheaded man........? It not like the docks were full of them; it beginning to feel as though she were looking for some kind of mythical being, yet she had to push on. Though the more time she spent on this mission, the more she was concerned that she was not doing what she really should be, and that was keeping her eye out for a Spanish assassin. It feeling like hours had passed since she had changed from her normal clothes; and her interaction with the sailor had certainly done nothing to make the day any easier.
But then, just as she was beginning to think that the man could not actually be found, she saw something. A movement out of the corner of her eye. A small smile coming to her lips, as she watched a tall, slender man, take a blue hat from his head, to reveal shoulder length, auburn hair. Gabriella looking to the skies, in thanks, before slowly making her way towards him.

"Monsieur............" The man turning to look at her, as she spoke.
"A flower for your lady.........to go with a note, perhaps.........." (Y/n) continued, as she held out her basket. The man smiling slightly and nodding, as he pulled a coin from his pocket; placing it in her hand, before taking not only a flower, but the small, rolled up piece of parchment that held the seal of the queen. The man discretely pushing the note into his pocket, before bringing the flower to his nose.
"I am sure that said lady will reward you for your kindness. Though I do wish I had been told that her messenger would be quite so beautiful........" The man replied, giving the fragrant bloom one last sniff, before presenting it back to her with a respectful nod. Gabriella taking it, fighting back the slight blush that she could feel heat up her cheeks at his gesture and words. The redhead giving her a smile, before he reached for his large bag, slinging it over his shoulder, before heading away from the docks and out towards the town.

"Anything..........?" Aramis asked, as he and Athos continued to mingle with the crowd.
"No. You...........?" Aramis shaking his head at his friend's question.
"Perhaps we should split up......we could cover a little more ground that way........" Athos nodding his head at Aramis' suggestion, before his eyes turned to look up at the clocktower of a nearby church.
"I will meet you back here at ten. If we have found nothing in the next hour, we will go and join Gabriel........" Athos replied. Aramis agreeing, before making his own way through the crowd. Athos deciding to make another pass of the ships, just in case the assassin had been biding his time and waiting for the docks to become a little busier before he slipped from a ship. The Musketeer slowly, so as to not draw any attention to himself, pushing back into the crowd; moving the odd crate or sack to make it look as though he were working. Yet as he made his way closer to where the vast majority of the ships were docked, he caught sight of something. Something that was not odd, unusual, or out of place; yet the way that he found himself reacting to the sight, certainly was. Athos quickly darting to hide behind a number of stacked crates as he watched a beautiful flower seller, making her way towards one of the ships. A flower seller that he couldn't help but think he had seen before.
