AUTHOR'S POV
The ancient forest was dark teak-brown. It reeked of age. Its woody incense was from centuries of snapping branches crashing to the forest’s floor and rotting silently.
Yeonjun walked over the crispy grass as some twigs crunched beneath his feet. As far as his eyes could drift, hoary fortresses trees stood proudly. He looked up to meet the darkness of night. The stars freckled the sky like luminous petals of glinting silver. Wood sorrel flecked the blanket of grass.
He walked and walked. He thought that this silent night in this dark forest was somehow bringing peace to his mind as well as his heart. But his steps were nowhere close to stop and his mind still lingered around his mother and Jungkook.
The rage and hatred for Jungkook was thriving inside of him. With every single second passing. He was urged to give him the death, the same pain he gave to his mother.
He just wanted to slit open his throat. He wanted to see the blood gushing out and life-sucking out of his body. He wanted to see him begging for life just like his mother would've done.
He could imagine his mother begging to spare her life and that rock-hearted Blood Moon King, Jeon Jungkook, not even listening to her. His heart skipped a beat at this thought and tears brimmed his eyes. First, his father and now his mother. Can god be more cruel?
It's said when the dark woods sleep and dream, we do the same until light gifts the day new bright and joyous hues. But he's forever stuck in this darkness and there's no bright day for him.
He can dream but they'll never come true. He wants to sleep and never wake up, ever. He had enough of all this, all his hope is crushed and nothing is left...
He clenched his fist tight that his knuckles turned white and he tried to hold back his tears which threatened to fall. His chin trembled like a small child and bent down on his knees as a tear fell down his cheeks and he sobbed when a voice echoed in his ears.
“Awh my poor child!” The voice held firmness and it was deep but you could feel that slight sadness in it.
Yeonjun's ear perked up and he wiped his tear because no matter what, he couldn't show anyone his weak and pathetic side. He looked up to meet two red crimson eyes.
There was standing a man with porcelain-like white skin, fangs protruding out of his mouth, his red-blood lips curving into an evil smile. He adorned all black and a red cape over his shoulders. The glint in his crimson eyes spoke of power and strength.
He took a step near Yeonjun, extending his hand forward to help him but Yeonjun immediately backed off in reflex, kind of scared from that creature.
“V-Vampire???” Yeonjun stammered and the Vampire in front of him let out a mischievous chuckle.
“Why? You doubt?” The vampire answered still coming towards Yeonjun.
“Who are you? Don't come near me!” Yeonjun retorted but the latter didn't seem to bother at all.
“I'm Luther; your father, my son.” The vampire said while approaching Yeonjun and he stopped dead in his tracks.
“My father and a Vampire?” Yeonjun scoffed, “No way! My father was a werewolf and he is dead! How dare you call yourself my father?!” Yeonjun growled and Luther saw his eyes changing color from chocolate brown to crimson red.
Luther smirked. He saw how angry he was on his father's mention, all fumed up. He very well knew what he had to do and get back what belongs to him.
“Really? Then how about you recall some memories? Ever felt Blood lust? Why couldn't you go out in the sunlight? Why couldn't you eat food which had garlic? Why could you hear footsteps miles away? Ever had the urge to tear apart someone's neck when you were angry?”
Luther threw questions over questions and Yeonjun's mind went back to the past as he recalled the first day went out in sunlight and he felt a burning sensation.
Everybody believed that he was allergic to sunlight so he mostly spent his time inside the palace and was trained in the nighttime instead of day.
And he absolutely hated garlic with all of his beliefs! It's smell stunk so bad to his nose that he mostly ate inside his room and his food was separately prepared without the use of garlic.
He could hear the voices of people from far away. He was blood lusted. Martha always used to bring him a small bottle of blood to quench his thirst for blood. Although it was once or twice a week and just a few drops but he couldn't decipher why he was blood lusted.
Martha said that he's born like that, an abnormal. But Yeonjun knew there was some other hidden reason behind it because she never allowed him to talk to anyone about his blood lust except for her.
He was also curious why every time he was angry, he felt a change within himself. It felt like a different kind of current flowed through his body. He urged to slit open their throats every time, he felt like a different person himself. But how's that possible? He couldn't be a hybrid, could he?
He came out of the abyss of thoughts as Luther snapped his fingers in front of him. Yeonjun saw that look on his face, he wasn't lying…
“It can't be...I'm a Vampire? And a werewolf? A hybrid? …how?”

The trees, bare of leaf, covered with snow stood on the grounds rooted. The sounds of footsteps and huffing out of breath was heard as the girl limped through the forest.
“That bitch! Hit me straight into my knee! Ah, it hurts so bad!” Lisa hissed with pain, holding into her knee. She dragged herself towards a tree, supporting herself with her hand and taking deep breaths, puffs of cold breath coming out of her mouth.
She felt so cold as the cold air penetrated through her clothes and her teeth chattered together even though she was wearing warm clothes. She slid down against the tree trunk and the tree bark feels as cold as a crocodile’s back, the glucose smell of amber leaked from the tree bark.
“Dammit! I was so close to killing her!” She gritted through her teeth in anger. It was dead silent in the forest except for the sound of cold air bowing but Lisa felt like someone was watching her.
That's when she heard a hiss from above her head. Every muscle of her body stiffened as her mind anticipated what it could be. Her heart pounded and she contemplated whether to look up or not.
She slowly craned her neck to see if it was actually what she was thinking of and her eyes widened to see that huge snake all coiled around the branch of the tree.
It was a huge, thick snake and his dark green scaly skin shimmered in the moonlight. His green, elliptical eyes were fixated on the female sitting on the ground.
He examined her eyes carefully and even if he didn't want to know, her eyes revealed a lot more than he expected. But there was something that made him curious.
A hiss left his mouth as his tongue flicked out of his mouth and he started uncoiling himself from the tree and Lisa moved away from the tree in reflex. She dragged her hurt leg and stood a bit farther from the tree as she watched the snake slither on the ground slowly and took the form of a human being.
He was hunky with a rapscallion's smile tugged at the corner of his lips. His once green elliptical eyes were replaced by the chocolate brown ones now. His skin was milk-like—white and delicate. His midnight-black bangs covered his forehead as he ruffled them and sighed.
“I was sleeping peacefully. Why did you have to wake me up, young lady?” His voice came out raspy and deep.
“You're a s-serpent?” Lisa stuttered at the last as she has only heard about their race but didn't expect to meet one.
“What do you think? Will a normal human being be able to do what I did just now?” He let out a scoff.
“Cocky!” She folded her hands over her chest and rolled her eyes at him.
“Thanks.” He replied, maintaining his cockiness and pissing off the girl in front of him even more.
“Well, the name is Baekhyun; Byun Baekhyun. I'm the king of the serpent kingdom. And you're?” He asked with a smirk plastered on his face and waited for her to answer his question. She could be a great help to him and he couldn't let this chance go.
“You don't need to know that.” She let go of her folded hands and hissed as she turned to walk away.
“You like Jungkook, don't you?” He blurted out the words and Lisa stopped in her tracks, turning back to him.
“And what makes you think that?” She raised her eyebrows, tilting her head to the side as the latter chuckled.
“Did you forget I'm a serpent? Oh, not a normal one but I'm the King of them.” He questioned, more like informed and Lisa was puzzled at first but then it hit her.
The eye contact, that one moment he looked into her eyes, he saw her desires and the biggest one among them; the Blood Moon King. He's the serpent King. What else could she expect from him? The king of the serpent is blessed to see someone's desires by looking into their eyes.
She should've been careful. Even walls were said to have ears and eyes; he's the serpent king. She let out a sigh and looked at him with an annoyed look.
“Yeah yeah I know you saw my desires. I like Jungkook and I want him. So, why does that concern you?” She shrugged her shoulders, frustration written on her face due to the continuous poking of the unknown male as Baekhyun sighed and looked at her.
“Well, for your information, I'm going to kill him.” He answered as if it was a very normal thing to do but as soon as those words escaped his mouth, Lisa grabbed his collars, glaring at him, anger evident in his eyes.
“How dare you!?” She snapped at him but then she saw something else in his eyes. She saw a different kind of emotion reflecting in his eyes.
Sorrow, maybe? Or longing for something? She couldn't know what it exactly was.
“Woah woah chill down, pretty.” He removed her hands from his collar and sat down on a rock.
“You know he's the Blood Moon King, and it's not a piece of cake to kill him.” He said and Lisa frowned.
“Then why the fuck are you even after him when you can't kill him?” She raised her voice but the latter stayed calm.
“Take a seat, I'll tell you.” He patted the space beside him.
“No thanks, I'm fine.” She answered as Baekhyun shrugged and started telling her about his story.

“So, you're saying the Vampire Lord, snatched your crystal, and now to get it back, you've to kill Jungkook?” Lisa asked, more like said, her hands folded over her chest, looking at the pathetic serpent with her eyebrows twitching as if she's thinking something.
Baekhyun told her everything about how the vampires attacked their Kingdom and imprisoned his friends and family along with his people. How Luther snatched his crystal away from him because he very well knew a serpent king is nothing without his crystal.
He knew how to compel him to do such a filthy task. He wanted power and control over the whole wolf community and for that, putting an end to the Blood Moon King was crucial.
“Yeah, I'm not just a normal serpent. I'm much more than that but not without my crystal.” His voice came out lower and sadder than usual. The cockiness wasn't there anymore, it felt like he was just using it to cover up his sadness.
Lisa noticed that but that didn't shake her too much. In fact, there was a different plan taking birth in her mind, something which can make her succeed.
This Luther guy could be beneficial for her if she baited him properly and convinced him not to kill Jungkook. She could do that at least, couldn't she?
She came out her thoughts and glanced at the male sitting on the rock with his head lowered, “Hey, you want your crystal back don't you?” She asked with curiosity in her and Baekhyun looked up.
“Um yeah?” He looked puzzled.
“I can help you I guess. But promise me you won't harm Jungkook, don't even lay a finger on him.” She hissed, glaring at him and he stood up taking steps towards her.
“And how are you gonna do that?” He asked, eyeing her up and down as Lisa smirked.
“I'm not a normal human being or a werewolf sweetheart, I'm much more than that.” She answered, using his words back at him.
“My mother knew black magic and so do I. In fact, I've learned a lot more than her. I'm sure I can help you.” A constant smirk was tugged at the corner of her lips as she, this time, took steps towards him and her chocolate brown eyes started glowing blue.
“Now do you believe me? Or need some more proofs?” She asked and Baekhyun chuckled. Lisa stopped what she was doing and look at the male with annoyance. He chuckles a lot, doesn't he?
“What's so funny?” She gritted through her teeth and Baekhyun laughed.
Peals of laughter burst within him as his eyes disappeared, his lips forming a square smile, flexing the muscles in the apple of his cheeks. He was kind of cute, Lisa couldn't lie. She almost smiled looking at him laughing but got back to her cold composure when she realised.
“Nothing, you just looked kind of cute. 'Now do you believe me? Or need some more proofs?'” He imitated her voice in the last sentence and laughing some more while Lisa was clearly annoyed.
“Yahh!! You little- Ahh...” She came forward to get a grab of him but instead her already hurt leg twitched.
She couldn't complete her sentence and hissed in pain as the knee was already hurt due to Y/N's hit. She was about to fell on the cold snow when two hands held her.
“Are you okay? Come, sit here.” His hands were supported her waist as Lisa stiffened at his touch.
She looked up at him and he just looked worried. For some unknown reason, she couldn't utter a single word and sat on the rock as Baekhyun crouched down in front of her and placed her leg on his thighs.
“What are you-”
“Oh hushh!” He hushed her and uncovered her leg as the blue bruised knee came into view, “Oops, that looks bad. It must hurt a lot, doesn't it?” He looked up at her and Lisa couldn't say a word.
“Don't worry, I can fix this.” He smiled at focused back on her knee as Lisa just watched him without moving a limb. He placed his hand over her bruised knee and closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again as his eyes glowed green.
Lisa let out a small gasp as the knee hurt for once and then the pain started fading away and Baekhyun's eyes came back to normal.
“Now, would you mind telling me your name?” He asked pulling her gown down and looked at her with a smile.
“It's L-Lisa.” She answered without realising with a stutter like an obedient child.
“Beautiful name, just like you.” He complimented and her cheeks flushed red.
No one has ever complimented her on being beautiful. In fact, they didn't even talk to her. She was always ignored. But this man, he was kind of different?
