AUTHOR'S POV

Holding her hands firmly in his, Yibo was sleeping beside Y/N in half sitting and half laying down position aa he was still sitting on the chair. He had his head resting on his arms which was holding Y/N's hands.

Yibo was awake until Y/N didn't fall asleep and don't know exactly how many times he woke up worriedly checking if she's alright or not. In short, he didn't have a peaceful night. How could he after seeing his best friend in such a poor condition?

He was afraid, afraid if something bad would happen to his one and only best friend, the girl he cherished and adored from his childhood.

Suddenly several knocks were heard on the door breaking the peaceful sleep of the two. Y/N was the first one to open her eyes as she blinked numerous times adjusting to the light in the room, her head throbbing in pain and so did her body.

Yibo also woke up and removed his hands from Y/N's and immediately stood up as he noticed her open eyes and face contoured in pain.

"You okay now Y/N-iee?" Yibo asked sweetly and softly yet anxious inside.

"Y-yeah! Just my h-head...ahh!" Y/N asked in a low voice almost a whisper due to the pain and low energy as Yibo inched his ear closer to hers in order to listen.

And after listening he realised what happened at night, she emptied loads of alcohol bottles in her throat. Now of course her head would be like it's going to explode out any moment, she would be having a hangover.

And he hated this look of her, puffy eyes, messy hairs, scars and scratches on her body, white pale face, and weakened body.

A lone tear fell down from his eye as he quickly wiped it off before Y/N could notice and smiled, caressing her forehead lovingly, "You will be okay, I'm here."

And again the knocks were heard as Yibo realised and hurried towards the door. He slightly opened the door as a maid was standing there. She had a tray in her hands with a big bowl of what seemed to be hangover soup in it, a small cup of ground herbs, and a glass of water.

"Luna told me to give this to you prince Yibo." The maid extended the tray towards him and he took it from her, "Thanks, you can go now!"

"Yes, prince!" The maid bowed and left as Yibo quickly closed the door and went back to Y/N.

He helped Y/N to stand up and placed a pillow behind her back, she leaned her back heaving out a sigh as Yibo sat beside her with the tray on the bed, "You need to eat the bowl of this hangover soup and then take these herbal medicines ok? Luna sent them."

"Luna? Okay, feed me then. Ahh! My head still throbs in pain!" Y/N scrunched her face in pain and Yibo pat her head before feeding her the soup.

Alpha Kim paced right and left in the room feeling restless and concerned for his one and only daughter. The past scenes flashing and playing in front of him like a projector, that one mistake he did and he's still repenting on it.

"Do something honey! Our daughter is not the one who's supposed to be suffering! I can't see her like that!" Luna said in a high voice than normal, not exactly yelling because she knew Alpha is hurt too.

"I know! Even I don't want my daughter to pay for the sins I've done!" Alpha yelled back at her as a tear fell down his cheeks and Luna came towards him wiping off the tear from his cheeks and holding his hands in hers, "You can't let her suffer like that, today or tomorrow, she and the others have to know."

"You know what exactly you've to do right?" Luna lovingly said yet anxiousness filling her voice.

"Okay, I guess it's time to tell them." Alpha heaved out a sigh before kissing Luna's head and going towards his table, taking a seat while Luna stood beside him.

Taking out a clean paper and his quill pen, he dipped it inside the inkpot and started writing the letter.

To my dear friend Alpha Jeon,

There are things that I've wanted to tell you for a long time but couldn't get enough courage to do so, but now things are getting out of hand and I can't hide this anymore. This is about my past, I'm still repenting on. However, this is not just related to me, it's related to you too, and the future of the whole wolf community.

There was a time when happiness embraced the wolf packs. What a richly joyous and contrasting world the people had lived in.

But now, nothing's the same anymore, the happiness is replaced by sorrow, a deep sorrow. The packs were ambient in dread, a never-ending dread. Rivers of blood flowing every day, a mess created everywhere.

Lock Heart, Black Rose, Dawn Walkers, Night Shade, Moon Stone, and Silver Tail were the ones, haunted the most by those vampires.

So much of patrolling, so much of security, and yet the Alpha of every pack was confused and curious about how the vampires were entering their packs.

The only conclusion they could come to was...

A traitor...

There was a traitor wolf who was conveying information to the vampire community and that's how the attack was easy for them. The situation is getting out of hand as the attacks and deaths are not coming to an end.

Every night, someone's kidnapped from the pack, and the next day only their dead body is found. At this extent, they wouldn't be surprised if the wolf community completely vanished, and that's what they think the vampires want.

To solve this matter, Alpha Jeon and Alpha Kim also tried to call a meeting but it would be too risky for the Alphas to leave their pack. And that's why they had to cancel it too. Now, everyone is just trying to catch the traitor so that these attacks can be stopped.

LOCKHEART PACK

"Anything, Mr. Kang?" Alpha Kim asked expecting something but only got his low head in return.

Some loud wails caught their attention as Mr. Wang came running inside, "Alpha, Minseok betrayed us! He helped the Vampire we caught, HE FREED HIM! ALL THE GUARDS ARE WAILING OUTSIDE THAT THEY SAW HIM!" Mr. Wang informed Alpha and in no time Alpha's temper raised, he could never imagine his most trustworthy companion more like a friend will ever betray him.

There was nothing to hear, Alpha was not ready to hear anything, his pack believed in him, and the fury of betrayal made him uncontrollable.

Not even once he thought about anything, he just wanted to catch that one traitor and when it comes to his realm, he'll not care if it's his best friend.

"IF HE CAN DARE TO BETRAY ME, THEN EXECUTION IS THE ONLY ANSWER I GOT!" Alpha commanded the guards and they ran out to drag Minseok to the execution ground.
