Chapter 8~ The Beginning
"Revenge. Revenge is all I want." a boy looked over at a painting, his eyes dark.
"A violent boy, aren't you?"
"Do not look down upon me!" the boy whipped around to face the speaker, his eyes flaring. "I have a legacy to carry, one my brother had left me, one my father didn't even care about. I hate that man. I hate him with all my heart."
"A boy as young as you shouldn't have this much hatred in his heart."
"I used to be happy!" the boy snapped, "I may have had a job that wasn't envied, but I had a father and a family!"
"Do not snap at me!"
Both boys stared each other down. They seemed like opposites, the only similarities between them being their dark hair. The first boy had a pair of beautiful sea green eyes, ones that matched the same calm serenity the ocean would offer, ones that didn't match the anger that had overtaken them. He had a tanner complexion then the other boy, and his clothes were in a more battered shape. Torn and ripped with dirt stains on them, but the boy didn't seem to mind.
The second boy had eyes as dark as his hair. In fact, everything about him seemed dark. He didn't seem like the happiest child in the universe. But he wasn't angry, he wasn't sad, he wasn't depressed, he just... wasn't happy. You could see it in his eyes, his expression, the way he carried himself, you could see it in a lot of things.
He was a pale and skinny boy, but he was neat, tidy, and groomed. Every strand in his hair was perfect, every thread in his clothing was flawless. Really the only thing about him that wasn't without faults was his mood.
"Fine. Whatever," the first boy looked away, "I just wanted to know if you would help me or not."
"Your plan is ridiculous, but as stupid as it is I will help. If you ever need my assistance get a hold of me and I will come."
"It seems our meeting is at an end then."
"It seems."
"Handshake?"
"Ha, no," the second boy shook his head, "I'll give you a handshake when you succeed in making a name, or when you greet her. Either one will work."
"Well I've technically already talked to her, so..."
"You're ridiculous."
"Thanks. Guess I'll see you later then, Ghost Boy."
"Ghost Boy?"
"Yeah. You remind me of a ghost."
"How is it that I am younger then you yet I manage to maintain a mature attitude?"
"I was birthed from trash. What goes around comes around."
"You just insulted yourself along with the man you hate."
"Indeed I did." the boy straightened his back, holding his chin up and putting his shoulders back to imitate the other boy. Well, less imitation, more mock.
The second boy simply scoffed, "If you want this all to work, do something about your green eyes. They stand out too much." and with that he walked away.
Keeping his posture the first boy went to a mirror, looking at his reflection.
He slowly smirked. But it wasn't a joyful one, no. It was... how you say... mischievous. Cruel.
Evil.
"Green eyes. I like it."
He spun around on his heel and glanced back at the portrait, his eyes hardening again.
"I will find you, and I will kill you. Watch out dad, your son's coming home," he growled softly, "as for you..." he turned to a different picture.
"If you wanna kill this Captain you'll have to figure out every puzzle piece I lay out in front of you."
